Description of appliance

Operating modes
Exhaust-air mode:
The extractor-hood fan extracts the kitchen vapours and conveys them through the grease filter into the atmosphere. The grease filter absorbs the solid particles in the kitchen vapours. The kitchen is kept almost free of grease and odours.
Circulating-air mode:
An activated carbon filter must be fitted for this operating mode (see Filters and maintenance). The activated carbon filter can be purchased as an optional accessory from your dealer. The extractor-hood fan extracts the kitchen vapours which are purified in the grease filter and activated carbon filter and then conveyed back into the kitchen. The grease filter absorbs the grease particles in the kitchen vapours. The activated carbon filter binds the odorous substances. If the extractor hood is switched from exhaust-air mode to circulating-air mode, the exhaust-air opening must be sealed to prevent a hazardous situation (see optional accessories in the Instructions for use).

The extractor hood can be used in exhaust air or circulating air mode. Always mount the extractor hood over the centre of the hob. The minimum distance between the supporting surface for the cooking vessels on the hob and the lowest part of the range hood must be not less than \(50\mathrm{cm}\) from electric cookers and \(65\mathrm{cm}\) from gas or mixed cookers. Fig. 1
If the instructions for installation for the gas hob specify a greater distance, this must be adhered to.
Additional information for gas cooking appliances:
Comply with the currently valid installation regulations and the installation instructions supplied by the gas appliance manufacturers. The extractor hood may be installed with only one side next to a high-sided unit or at a high wall. Min. gap 50 mm The extractor hood must be installed at a minimum distance of 650 mm above gas hotplates - Fig. 5 - provided the following nominal heat loads (Hs) are not exceeded:
Gas cookers
Load of one hotplate max. 03.0 kW
Load of all hotplates max. 08.3 kW
Load of oven max. 03.9 kW
Gas hobs
Load of one hotplate max. 03.9 kW
Load of all hotplates max. 11.3 kW
Gas ceramic hob
The specifications for nominal heat load do not apply to closed gas ceramic hobs. Always comply with the specifications of the hotplate manufacturer.
The smaller the distance between the extractor hood and hotplates, the greater the likelihood that rising water vapour will condense under the extractor hood. The extractor hood may only be installed over a fireplace which burns solid fuel (fire hazard due to flying sparks) if the fireplace has a closed, non-detachable cover and national regulations have been observed. This restriction does not apply to gas cookers and gas hobs.
Before installation
Exhaust-air mode - Fig. 6
The exhaust air is discharged upwards through a ventilation shaft or directly through the outside wall into the open.
For operating in exhaust-air mode, a one-way flap should be mounted inside the wall ventilation box.
If no one-way flap was enclosed with the hood, it can be obtained from a specialist retailer.
If the exhaust air is going to be discharged into the open, a telescopic wall box should be fitted into the outside wall (Fig. 7).
For optimum extractor hood efficiency: use a short, smooth air exhaust pipe, as few bends as possible, and a pipe diameter as large as possible with no tight bends.
If long, rough exhaust-air pipes, many pipe bends, or smaller pipe diameters are used, the air extraction rate will no longer be at an optimum level and there will be an increase in noise.
Round pipes:
We recommend an internal diameter of:
100 mm
Flat ducts must have an internal cross-section that equates to that of round pipes.
There should be no sharp bends.
0 100 mm approx. 178 cm².
If pipes have different diameters: insert a sealing strip. For exhaust-air mode, ensure that there is an adequate supply of fresh air.
Exhaust air upwards:
Pipe diameter: 100 mm
Take care that the air-deflector is fitted (Fig. 8/1). Insert the exhaust-air connection (Fig. 8/2).
Exhaust air towards the rear:
Pipe diameter: 100 mm
Take out the air-deflector (Fig. 8/1). Insert the exhaust-air connection (Fig. 8/3). Close top exit with supplied jerk (Fig. 8/3).
Circulating-air mode (Fig. 9)
(If there is no exhaust-air mode option)
The air purified by an additional activated carbon filter is conveyed back into the room. For insertion of the activated carbon filter see Instructions for use. If the extractor hood is switched from exhaust-air mode to circulating-air mode, the exhaust-air opening must be sealed to prevent a hazardous situation.
Electrical connection
The appliance features an EU safety plug. To ensure protective earthing in a Danish socket, the appliance must be connected to a suitable plug adapter. This adapter (permitted up to max. 13 amps) is available from customer service (spare part no. 616581).
The mains power supply must correspond to the rating indicated on the plate situated inside the hood. If provided with a plug, connect the hood to a socket in compliance with current regulations and positioned in an accessible area. If it is not fitted with a plug (direct mains connection) or if the plug is not located in an accessible area, apply a bi-polar switch in accordance with standards which assures the complete disconnection of the mains under conditions relating to over-current category III, in accordance with installation instructions.
Warning! Before re-connecting the hood circuit to the mains supply and checking the efficient function, always check that the mains cable is correctly assembled.

Metal grease filters:
To capture the grease produced during cooking, metal grease filters are used.
The filter pads are made of non-flammable metal.
Attention:
Saturation of the filters with grease not only increases the risk of fire, but can also have a negative effect on the operation of the hood.
Important note:
Timely cleaning of the grease filters reduces the risk of fire.
Cleaning the metal grease filters:
To ensure good performance (1-2 hours per day), clean the filter every 8-10 weeks. The filter can be washed in a dishwasher. However, this may lead to slight discoloration. Install the filter freely in the dishwasher.
Important note:
Do not wash the contaminated metal grease filters in the dishwasher together with the dishes.
For hand washing, first soak them in hot soapy water. Then clean the filters with a brush, rinse them thoroughly in clean water and dry. Use only original filters to ensure optimal performance and durability of the hood.

Disposal of the used carbon filter:
The carbon filters do not contain harmful substances. Dispose of them with normal household waste.
Cleaning and maintenance
Disconnect the hood from the electrical supply,
by pulling the plug out of the socket or switching off the circuit breaker.
Simultaneously with cleaning the grease filters (see paragraph "Filters and their maintenance"), clean all accessible parts of the housing from grease deposits. This significantly reduces the risk of fire and ensures optimal operation of the hood. For cleaning the hood, use a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution for glass surfaces. Do not scrape off dried dirt, but soften it with a damp cloth. Never use abrasive cleaning agents or sponges that could scratch the surface. Note: Never clean plastic surfaces with alcohol, as matte stains may appear. Warning! Ventilate the kitchen frequently. Never leave an open flame! Clean the controls and knobs only with a mild soap solution and a damp cloth. Do not use stainless steel cleaners for the controls and knobs.
If the knobs are not included with the hood, they can be purchased at a specialized store.
Install the knobs inside the duct.
Check that nothing obstructs the free opening of the knob.
Install the telescopic air duct through the outer wall, as shown in Fig. 7.
Optimal exhaust efficiency is ensured when the following conditions are met:
Use short, flat exhaust pipes without sharp bends. Use a minimum number of elbows. Use pipes with as large an internal diameter as possible, and also use elbows with a large radius. In the case of using long, unevenly bent pipes of small diameter, the air exhaust speed will not reach the maximum effective level, and a noticeable increase in noise level is also possible.
Round pipes: internal diameter not less than 100 mm. Rectangular pipes must have a cross-sectional area equal to the cross-sectional area of the corresponding round pipes.
They must not have sharp bends.
In the case of pipes with an internal diameter of 100 mm, the cross-sectional area is approximately 178 cm².
If the pipes have different diameters: use a sealing tape. In the case of exhaust operation, ensure sufficient fresh air supply.

For the prepared air mode, the air must be supplied to the ship's air system through a filter.
If this filter is not installed, they can be damaged by contaminants in the air.
If the prepared air is supplied externally, the air filter must be installed on the ship's air supply. See Figure 7.
For installation of the filter: short, tight air supply. The filter must be installed in a low position. The filter diameter must be larger than the pipe diameter, so that the pipe can be inserted. Long, tight air pipes, bent pipes or smaller pipe diameters can cause the air to be contaminated and increase noise. Recommended pipes:
Nominal diameter:
100 mm
The filter pipes should be at least 100 mm apart from each other. There should be no sharp bends. 100 mm gives 178 cm2. If the pipe diameters are different: use the larger cap. Check that the prepared air mode has clean air filters.
Air supply for heating:
Pipe diameter: 100 mm
Install the air deflector without a cap (Figure 8/1). Connect the prepared air supply (Figure 8/2).
Air supply for cooling:
Pipe diameter: 100 mm
Install the air deflector. Figure 8/1. Connect the prepared air supply (Figure 8/3) with the given saturator (Figure 8/3).
