• Yourkettlealsofeaturesaintegralsteamcut-offdevice which will switch off the kettle, should it accidentally be operatedwithoutwater.Intheeventofsuchasafetycut- out unplug the appliance immediately and let it cool down forapprox.10minutes.Afterwards,yourkettleisreadyfor use again.

• The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high during operation. Therefore, do not touch the appliance during and/or immediately after operation. Danger of serious burns!

• Remove all packaging material and check whether the apliance is complete.

• Fully unwind the power cord and make sure that the powercord(10)underneaththeapplianceisclampedin thecableguide(11).

• Placetheapplianceonanevenandheatresistantsurface. Do not place it on top of a metal surface.

• Connecttheappliancetoaproperlyinstalledwallsocket andboil4-5kettlesofwaterusingfreshwaterwitheach boiling cycle. Do not use this water but pour it away.

babies, therefore keep them away to avoid suffocation. 5. As soon as the water boils the appliance switches off

automatically provided that you have thoroughly closed thelid(2).Otherwiseboilingwatercouldspill.Theindicator light(8)switchesoffaswell. 6.Liftthekettle(5)offthebase(9).Thewaterisnowready for use.Note:Youcanswitchofftheapplianceresp.stop theboilingprocessanytimebysimplypressingtheOn/ Off button or by removing the kettle from the base. Attention: The glass of the water kettle is getting very hot during operation. Therefore, do not touch the appliance during and/or immediately after operation. Only use the handle. Danger of serious burns! Waterleftoverfromapreviousboilingcyclecanbere-used in the next boiling cycle. However, always make sure that the water level is not too low. Always unplug the appliance after use. Tip: Depending on the hardness of the water, a limy lm might appear inside the glass kettle. Therefore, we recommend to rinse the kettle with cold water after each use and dry it thoroughly. Integral steam cut-off device Yourwaterkettleisequippedwithaboil-drycut-out,which will switch off the kettle automatically, should it accidentally be operated without water or by not observing the Minimum waterlevel.Intheeventofsuchasafetycut-outunplugthe applianceimmediatelyandletitcooldownforapprox.10 minutes. Cleaning and Care Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains and let it completely cool down. Never immerse the appliance in water. Danger! Electric Shock! Rinsetheglasskettle(5)aftereachusewithcoldwaterand dry it thoroughly. Clean the body of the appliance with a moistened soft cloth. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents and/or other hard objects to clean the appliance. Descaling Descaleyourapplianceinregularintervals(approx.every3– 6months),dependingonthefrequencyofuseandthelocal waterquality. Neveruseanysharp,pointedormetalobjectstoremove limescale built up in the kettle. To remove limescale, use a common gentle descaler, which is suitable for your appliance. Afterdescaling,alwaysboil4-5kettlesofwater,whichyou do not use but pour away. Use fresh water with each boiling cycle. This procedure is necessary to remove any descaler residues in the kettle. Note: Descaler mixtures should not be poured down enamel coated sinks. Storage After use and after the appliance has completely cooled down windthepowercord(10)aroundthecordstorage(12). Keep it away from children and store it in a clean and dry place.20 Disposal Instructions Waste electrical devices marked with this sign must not be disposed of with your household waste, but are to be collected separately.
