BEFORE THE FIRST USE

Before using the machine for the first time:

  1. Rinse the stainless steel trays, the grill, the drip tray and the door - never rinse the entire appliance with water and dry them with a towel.
  2. Start the empty machine and allow it to run while empty for 30 minutes.
  3. The machine is now ready for use. (This is only necessary the very first time you use the machine, after you have unpacked it.)

USE

PREPARATION

  • Wash the food and pat it dry with a towel or paper towel.
  • Peeling the food prior to drying it does decrease the drying time, but it also results in the loss of valuable vitamins and minerals.
  • Cut the food into pieces, slices or strips of approximately the same size and thickness. Remove seeds, pits, etc. if necessary. Cut away any damaged or bruised areas.

  • Hard food (e.g. hard vegetables) and vegetables that may not be consumed raw are best if blanched first, so that it is semi-soft prior to drying. This decreases the drying time and ensures that less vitamins are lost. Make sure that the food is sufficiently dried prior to drying it.

FILLING THE TRAYS

· Divide the food evenly over the stainless steel trays. Do not allow pieces to overlap.
- Make sure that a maximum of 90% of the tray is covered, in order to allow for good air circulation.
Depending on the size of the food, the trays can be adjusted in height.

  • Allow the food to cool completely before putting it away
