Frequently Asked Questions - BM2HP Ubiquiti Networks

How to access the BM2HP configuration interface?
Connect your computer to the LAN port of the PoE adapter with an Ethernet cable. Set a static IP address on the 192.168.1.x subnet (e.g., 192.168.1.100). Open a browser and type https://192.168.1.20. Use the credentials ubnt for both username and password.
What is the default password for the BM2HP?
The default password is ubnt (lowercase). The username is also ubnt.
How to reset the BM2HP to factory settings?
Press and hold the reset button (located near the Ethernet port) for about 10 seconds until the LEDs flash. The device will restart with factory settings.
Is the BM2HP compatible with passive or active PoE?
The BM2HP uses 24V passive PoE power. The included PoE adapter is required. Do not use standard 48V PoE injectors (802.3af) without an adapter.
What is the maximum allowed power for the BM2HP in Europe?
For EU countries, the EIRP (Equivalent Isotropic Radiated Power) limit is 20 dBm for the 2.4 GHz band and 30 dBm for the 5 GHz band. Configuration must be done in the airOS interface according to local regulations.
Can I use the BM2HP with an external antenna?
No, the BM2HP is a model with an integrated antenna. The antenna gain cannot be changed. Use NanoStation or NanoBridge models for external antennas.
How to update the firmware of the BM2HP?
Download the .bin file from the Ubiquiti website. Log in to the airOS interface, go to the System tab, and use the Upload Firmware section. Do not power off during the update.
Is the BM2HP suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, the BM2HP is designed for outdoor installation. It should be installed by a professional and use shielded Ethernet cables with grounding to ensure protection against lightning and interference.
What to do if the airOS interface does not respond?
Check the Ethernet connection and power. Ensure you are using a static IP address in the 192.168.1.x subnet. If the problem persists, perform a factory reset by holding the reset button for 10 seconds.
Does the BM2HP support wireless bridge mode?
Yes, via the airOS interface, you can configure the BM2HP in Station (client) or AP (access point) mode to create a point-to-point or point-to-multipoint link.
