USER MANUAL BV 5025 Orbegozo
Read this manual carefully before running this appliance and save it for reference in order to obtain the best results and ensure safe use.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must never play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must never be carried out by children without supervision.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Keep the appliance and the cable cord out of the reach of children less than 8 years old.
- WARNING: In order to ensure your children's safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.
- If the supply cord is damaged it must be repaired by the Authorized Service Agent.
- Never pull on the cord when unplugging.
- Do not use the unit with a damaged cord or plug, or if it is not working properly.
- Do not handle the appliance with wet hands.

Important safeguards
- Check if the voltage indicated on the bottom of the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.

Disconnect the appliance and unplug from power supply if machine is left unattended, of before changing the accessories or nearest parts that move when machine is used, assembled, disassembled or during cleaning.

Avoid contacting moving parts.
- Do not operate this appliance when it is malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
- The use of attachments, including canning jars, not recommended by the manufacturer may cause a risk of injury to persons.

Do not use outdoors.

Do not let cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or touch hot surfaces, including the stove.
- Keep hands and utensils out of container while blending to reduce the risk of severe personal injury and/or damage to blender. A rubber spatula may be used but only when blender is not running.
- Do not use a broken, chipped or cracked blender jar.
- Do not use broken, cracked or loose cutting blades.
- Cutting blades are sharp. Handle carefully.
• Always operate blender with cover in place. - If the jar turns when the motor is switched ON, switch OFF immediately and tighten jar assembly.
• Always use the blender on a flat, level work surface. - Never insert metal utensils, such as knives or forks, into the inside of the jug while the appliance is operating.
- The use of accessories not supplied by the manufacturer may cause accidents.
- Never try to fit or remove the jug on the blender while the appliance is still running.
- Do not open the lid on the blender until the motor has stopped.
- Do not use your fingers to press the food, always use the plunger.
- Do not place blender filled with food or liquid in the freezer. This will freeze and damage the blade assembly, jar and motor.
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
After unpacking the blender, wash everything except the blender base in hot, soapy water. Do not place in dishwasher. Wipe the blender base with a damp cloth or sponge. Do not immerse the base in water. Care should be taken when handling the blades, as they are very sharp.
ASSEMBLING
Important: Always inspect cutting blades for broken, cracked or loose blades. If jar-cutting blades are damaged, do not use.
- Make sure blender is unplugged.
- Place blender base on clean, dry surface.
- Make sure that the jug is properly assembled (jug, silicon gasket, blade and black nut)
- The blade assembly must be firmly screwed into the jar. If not, it may loosen when the motor is turned on.

The jar should be properly placed into the base. Insert and spin it clockwise.

Plug cord into outlet.

Put ingredients in jar. Place hand on jar.

Process food or beverages. Spin the button on control panel to start blender. It is recommended to place a hand on the lid when blending.

Always turn blender OFF and wait until blades have stopped rotating before removing jar.

To remove jar after blending complete, spin it anticlockwise and pull up.

Never place jar onto unit while motor is running.
SPEED
Speeds are 1, 2 and Pulse. Pulse is a controlled cycle operation. This means it operates only while the button is held. All other speeds are continuous cycle operate continuously at whatever speed is selected until turn the knob to the 0 position.
Rotate knob clockwise to desired speed setting to turn blender on. Put one hand on top the blender jar with lid securely in place.
Do not use the appliance more than 5 minutes. After 5 consecutive minutes, let it idle for another 5 minutes.
Press "pulse" button and hold down for about 2 seconds. Release button and allow blades to coast to a stop. Rest one hand on top of blender jar with lid securely in place.. Repeat cycles until ingredients reach desired consistency. Release of the "Pulse" button turns blender off.
NOTE: "Pulse" button can be held longer than 2 seconds as needed, but it is recommended not to abuse of this function to avoid overheating.
HINTS FOR BEST USE
- To add foods when blender is operating, remove filler-cap from the main jar cover and add ingredients through the opening.

If using your blender to make salsa or other recipes using tomatoes, onions and/or other vegetables, you may have better results using a slower speed function.

If blending action stops during blending or ingredients stick to the sides of the jar, turn blender OFF. Remove the cover and use a rubber spatula to push mixture towards blades.
- Do not store food or liquids in the blender jar.
- Avoid bumping or dropping the blender.
HOW TO CLEAN THE BLENDER
– Unplug the blender from electrical outlet.
- Remove the jar from the blender base. Remove the lid, add a cup of cleaning solution made by adding a few drops of dishwashing detergent to 1 cup of water to the lid. Scrub and flush out the interior of jar and the lid to dislodge and remove as much residue as possible. Empty the jar.
- Add more cleaning solution, put lid on jar, place in on motor base and run on high speed for two minutes.
- Empty the lid and repeat as above using clean rinse water in place of cleaning solution. Empty, rinse and dry prior to storing unit.
- Wipe blender base, control panel, and cord with a damp cloth or sponge. To remove stubborn spots, use a mild, non-abrasive cleanser.
- Carefully wash blade assembly, gasket, jar and cover in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Do not soak. Do not wash blade assembly, gasket, jar, or cover in a dishwasher.
Disposal of old electrical appliances.

The European directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream. Old appliances must be collected separately in order to optimize the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain, and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance, it must be separately collected. Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for information concerning the correct disposal of their old appliance.
