When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

Remove all packing material and any stickers from the product. Before first use, wash the interior of the kettle and the scale filter with hot soapy water and rinse well until water is clear. Select a level surface where this unit is to be used allowing enough space for steam to escape without damage to counters, cabi,nets and walls. Uncoil power cord from power cord holder at bottom of the power base Fill kettle with 2½ cups cold tap water and 1¼ cup vinegar and place on power base. Close cover. Plug cord into standard electrical outlet. Bring to a full boil and discard. Fill kettle with at least 6 cups of cold tap water. Bring to full boil and discard; repeat. Kettle is now ready for use. The kettle will only operate when the I/O (On/Off) switch is in the I (On) position. The kettle will automatically switch off once the water has boiled. The kettle will automatically shut off if there is no water in the kettle.

Press latch and lift cover of kettle . Fill with desired amount of cold tap water (from 3½ to 7 cups). Be sure water does not come above the bottom of the pour spout to prevent boiling water from spilling onto the counter.

  • Do not operate the kettle without water.
  • Do not overfill the kettle - keep water level below the pour spout.
  • Do not open the cover while water is heating.

bottom of the kettle rests securely on the power base .

6. Plug the kettle into a standard electrical outlet. The

power light at the base of the kettle under the handle comes on .

7. Press the I/O (On/Off) switch button to the I position

(there will be a click) and the water begins to heat .

8. When water boils the kettle will automatically shut off

and the indicator light will go out. Do not try to hold the switch in the ‘On’ position once the water has boiled.

9. To re-boil water, it is necessary to wait several minutes

10. To reuse the kettle, allow it to cool down. Before

pressing the I/O (On/Off) switch check that there is enough water in the kettle. Simply press the I/O (On/ Off) switch to the I position or pour off any unused water and refill.

11. Hold kettle level when pouring, especially when filled to maximum. Do not

pour too fast. Make sure lid is closed before pouring hot water from the kettle.

12. To remove kettle from power base simply lift up.

13. Empty and unplug the kettle when not in use.

  • Always use fresh, cold water for each boiling process.
  • Do not store water in the kettle. This helps to prevent build up of mineral deposits.
  • For your safety, make sure cover of kettle is closed securely before pressing the I/O (ON/OFF) switch.
  • Always unplug the kettle before filling.
  • Never use less than the minimum amount of water (3 ½ cups). Note the MIN line on the kettle.
  • Never use more than the maximum amount of water (7 cups). Note the MAX line on the kettle.
  • The power supply is connected only to the power base. This allows for easy movement of the kettle to the table. (Remember to use a trivet or hot pad under the hot kettle.)
  • Do not try to hold the switch ‘On’ (I) when water has boiled.
  • Use your kettle to boil water for beverages, soups, cereal, noodles, rice and pasta.

  • Over time, the kettle may heat up but will not boil, depending on your use and the hardness of the water in your area. When this happens, it is time for descaling. Use a scale/lime remover and follow its manufacturer’s directions.
