How to adjust the height of the Cuna baby crib?

The bed base can be adjusted to two heights: upper position and lower position. In the upper position, the distance between the mattress and the top of the frame must be at least 300 mm; in the lower position, at least 500 mm. Use the lower position as soon as the child can sit or stand.

What size mattress should I use?

The recommended mattress measures 600 mm wide by 1200 mm long, with a maximum thickness of 105 mm. The gap between the mattress and the bed sides must not exceed 40 mm. Preferably use an original Leander mattress.

When should I place the bed in the lower position?

As soon as your baby can sit or stand up on their own, the bed base should be placed in the lower position to prevent falls. Refer to the assembly instructions for more details.

How to clean the Cuna baby crib?

Clean the wood parts with a damp cloth, wiping off excess water. Avoid direct sunlight as the color may change. Air the bed each morning by removing the duvet.

What is the warranty of the Cuna bed?

Wood and metal parts are warranted for 3 years and textile parts for 2 years against material or construction defects. The warranty does not cover normal wear, incorrect use, or unauthorized modifications.

What to do if a part is missing or damaged?

Do not use the bed if a part is damaged or missing. Only use replacement parts approved by Leander to ensure safety.

Can I use a non-Leander mattress?

It is strongly recommended to use an original Leander mattress, designed to fit the bed perfectly. Using another mattress may create dangerous gaps where the child could get stuck.

How to prevent baby from falling out of bed?

Place the bed in the lower position as soon as baby can sit up. If baby manages to crawl out of bed, remove one of the bar sections (never both) to prevent falls. Always watch for nearby objects.

Where to place the Cuna baby crib safely?

Never place the bed near a fireplace, electric heater, gas, or electrical outlet. Keep it away from blind cords, ribbons, or any object that could pose a risk of strangulation or suffocation.

What to do after assembling the bed?

After assembly, check and tighten all screws. Keep the supplied hex key and retighten all screws after 2 to 3 weeks of use to maintain stability.

EN: Baby cot/bed

The cot/bed base can be set at two different heights. Upper position and lower position. Make sure that the distance from the mattress to the top of the bed frame is never less than 300mm in the top position or 500mm in the bottom position. This is marked with an "arrow" on the middle bar of one of the rail sections.

By using an original Leander® mattress, you are assured of the correct distance to top of the bed. It is always safest to place the bed base in the lower position.

As soon as your baby can sit up or stand up on his/her own, the cot/bed base must be placed in the lower position. See assembly for further instructions. (Position 2)

When the baby can crawl out of the cot/bed by himself/herself, one of the rail sections must be removed to avoid injuries from falling. Never use the cot/bed with both rail sections removed. See assembly for further instructions. (Day bed)

Make sure that medicines, strings, small toys, small objects such as coins, etc. are out of the baby's reach from any position in the cot/bed.

Always follow the assembly instructions in detail to ensure the safety features of the cot/bed are not compromised!

Recommended mattress size

This cot/bed has been manufactured for use with a mattress which measures 600~mm wide by 1200 mm long and maximum 105mm in thickness. The width and length are specified because it is important that the gaps between the mattress and the sides and ends of the cot will not exceed 40~mm .

This is to minimize the risk of a child's limb becoming caught in the gap. The thickness of the mattress has been specified to ensure that the depth of the cot is greater than 500mm with the mattress base in the lower position to minimize the risk of a child climbing or falling out of the cot/bed.

Cleaning and maintenance

WOODWORK: Can be wiped off with a damp cloth. Surplus water must be wiped off. The colour may change when exposed to sunlight.

DAILY USE: Remove the quilt every morning allowing both bed and quilt to be aerated, cool off and dry.

WARNING

• Never place the child's bed by an open fire or source of strong heat such as electric heaters, gas heaters, power points etc. due to the risk of fire.
• Do not use the child's bed if any parts are damaged or missing and only use replacement parts that are approved by Leander.

• Never leave anything in the child's bed and never place the child's bed close to something the child can stand on, or which may pose a risk of suffocation or strangulation, such as ribbons, strings on blinds/curtains, etc.

• Never place more than one mattress in the child's bed.

• Always use the original Leander mattress, as it is designed to fit the bed's shape. The use of other mattresses can cause gaps between the mattress and bed in which the child can become trapped.
• To prevent falls, mattress base of this cot should be adjusted to the lowest position before the child can sit up.

• When assembling the child's bed, we do not recommend tightening the screws until the entire bed is assembled. This will make the assembly easier.

• After assembly, all fittings and screws must be checked and tightened. A poorly assembled bed and loose parts may lead to the child trapping a body part or to clothes (e.g. strings, necklaces, strings on dummies, etc.) becoming stuck and posing a risk of strangulation.

• Make sure the cot is placed on a level and stable surface.
• Remember to keep the Allen key after assembly. After 2 to 3 weeks of use, all screws should be tightened.
