Place the contact grill on a flat, heat-resistant surface. If the surface is sensitive, place a heat- resistant board under the contact grill. There is a risk of burns! The temperature of the accessible surfaces may be very high when the device is operating. Clean the contact grill as described in the section "Cleaning". Remove the cleaning scraper from the grease tray (10). Turn the thermostat (9) to "●". Open the cover and lightly grease the grill plates (3 and 6) with suitable grease, margarine or oil. This enables production-related residue on the grill plates (3 and 6) to be removed more easily. Then insert the mains plug into a mains socket that is always easily accessible. Turn the thermostat (9) to "MAX" and preheat the contact grill once with the cover open until the READY LED (8) lights up to indicate that the temperature has been reached. When using the device for the first time, production-related residue may give rise to a slight odour and minor smoke emission is also possible. This is normal and will fade after a short time. Please ensure that there is sufficient ventilation. Open a window if necessary. After approximately 15SilverCrest EDS SKGE 2000 A1 English - 7 minutes, turn the thermostat (9) to "●" in order to switch off the contact grill. Now disconnect the mains plug from the socket and let the contact grill cool down. Then clean the contact grill again as described in the section "Cleaning". First use Place the contact grill on a flat, heat-resistant surface. If the surface is sensitive, place a heat- resistant board under the contact grill. There is a risk of burns! The temperature of the accessible surfaces may be very high when the device is operating. Only touch the handle (1) or the thermostat (9) of the contact grill. The accessible surfaces of the contact grill can become very hot. Use pot holders or oven gloves to prevent burns. There is a risk of injury. Never use metallic objects to remove or turn food that you are grilling as they can damage the coating of the grill plates (3 and 6). Use a heat-resistant plastic or wooden spatula instead. Place the food to be grilled directly on the grill plates (3 and 6). Never use tin foil, a plate or similar as a base. Before using the contact grill for the first time, make sure that the grease tray (10) is correctly inserted. The grease tray (10) must be emptied in time to prevent it from overflowing. Optimising outward flow of grease There are 2 fold-out feet (see arrows in the adjoining figure) at the rear of the bottom grill plate (6). Fold them out when you are preparing food with a high fat content. This raises the front of the unit slightly and allows the resulting grease to flow more easily into the grease tray (10). In "single-sided grilling" mode, you can place the the top grill plate (3) slightly at an angle with light pressure (see arrow) to ensure the grease flows easily.SilverCrest EDS SKGE 2000 A1

Please note that butter is unsuitable due to the high temperatures. Insert the mains plug into a mains socket that is always easily accessible. Turn the thermostat (9) to the desired setting. Setting I = Defrost Setting II = Heat up Setting III = Medium level of grill Setting MAX = Maximum level of grill As soon as the contact grill is connected to the mains socket, the POWER LED (7) lights up and the contact grill starts to heat up. When the set temperature is reached, the READY LED (8) also lights up. Now open the cover and place the food to be grilled directly on the bottom grill plate (6). Then close the cover again. The contact grill heats up again once the temperature drops below the set level. This is indicated by the READY LED (8) going out at this time. Switch off the contact grill after use by turning the thermostat (9) to "●" and remove the mains plug from the socket. Clean the contact grill as described in the section "Cleaning". Single-sided grilling This mode (Figure B) is suitable, for example, for grilling a larger quantity of food. Proceed as follows: Turn the thermostat (9) to "●".
