Save these instructions for future reference. The appliance is designed for domestic use and may only be operated in accordance with these instructions of use. WARNING! - DO NOT OPEN THE BOILER CAP WHILE THERE IS PRESSURE IN THE BOILER!! - THE APPLIANCE GENERATES HIGH TEMPERATURE STEAM. ALWAYS HANDLE WITH CAUTION AND WARN OTHER USERS OF POTENTIAL DANGER.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Do not put the appliance at any place where the temperature could be below freezing point.
- Put the iron on a horizontal surface.
- Insert the plug into the socket after checking that the voltage is the same as indicated on the technical data and technical rating plate of the appliance.
- Never pull the cable to disconnect it from the socket. Instead, unplug by pulling the plug from the socket.
- Before plugging or unplugging the product, turn off the iron and the boiler switch.
- Keep the cord away from heat.
- Put away the appliance after it is completely cool and does not contain any water.
- Remove the plug from the socket before cleaning.
- Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. In such case you must contact any Singer Service Center or Singer Client Service.
- The appliance must not be left unattended while connected to the supply mains.
- The appliance must be used and rested on a stable surface.
- The appliance should not be used if it has been dropped, if there are any visible signs of damage or if it is leaking. In such case, you should contact any Singer Service Center or Singer Client Service.
- Do not let children tamper with the appliance.
- Do not touch the iron with wet hands or feet.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical or sensory capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervi- sion or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Empty the water tank after use.
- Burns may occur when touching heating metal, hot water or steam.
- Keep the soleplate in good condition. Do not use metal or other abrasive material to clean it. Do not iron metallic or other hard surfaces.
- The maximum volume for the water tank is 800ml. Do not pour more water than the one indicated.

- Plastic bags can be dangerous. To avoid danger of suffocation, keep this bag away from babies and children.
- Never move the boiler while operating.
- Do not touch the soleplate during or just after ironing. It is hot! Burns can occur from touching hot water or steam. Do not direct hot steam towards people or animals.
- Do not iron directly any synthetic fi bers.
- During changing from high to low temperature, always wait until the iron thermostat pilot light lights up again before ironing.
- Do not add any cleanser or perfume into the water tank.
- The partial or total non-respect of the safety instructions in the present instruction manual will automatically release Singer of any type of responsibility in case of malfunction of the machine or injuries to persons or animals.
- In case of manipulation, repairing or any modifi cation of the machine made by unqualifi ed persons or in case of improper use, the guarantee will be automatically cancelled.

- Plug in the supply cord (tube) to a grounded wall outlet and set the temperature adjustment knob to a degree suitable for the clothes you will iron. To increase the temperature level, turn the dial clockwise.
- Check the labels of clothes to verify the proper ironing temperature setting.
- If you are not sure about the type of a particular clothe, do a test ironing on an invisible part of the garment to fi nd out the ideal temperature setting.
- To avoid silk or other synthetic clothes to develop bright stains during ironing, iron their reverse surfaces.
- When using the iron for the fi rst time, pass the iron on an old cloth a couple of times. READ THE GARMENT LABELS AND FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURER’S IRONING INSTRUC- TIONS THAT ARE USUALLY INDICATED BY SYMBOLS SIMILAR TO THE FOLLOWING: STEAM IRONING
- Check the labels of clothes before beginning to iron and make sure that the fabric is suitable to be ironed with steam.
- Use normal tap water.
- Loosen the boiler cap (12) and pour approximately 800ml of water into the boiler.
- After having tightened the boiler cap (12), place the plug into the socket.
- Turn on the appliance using the on/off switches (2 & 3). The luminous switches will turn on indicating that the iron and the steam control panel are in operation.
- Select the desired temperature by turning the temperature adjustment knob (8). The section with the 3 dots (points”…”) of the temperature adjustment knob indicates when steam can be produced.
- When the “steam ready” light (4) turns on, the iron is ready for use. The light will turn on and off during use. - For extra steam press the extra steam button (10). If you want continuous steam emission, keep the button pressed and slide the steam lock button (10) backwards.
- To modify the quantity of steam emitted while ironing, turn the temperature adjustment knob (8). Turn the knob clockwise to increase steam emission.
- When the “no water” light turns on (5), it indicates that there is no water in the boiler and that it needs to be refi lled. VERTICAL IRONING
- Set the temperature adjustment knob (8) at the max position (points”…”).
- Hang the item of clothing on a hanger.
- Pass the iron downwards, pressing the extra steam button (10). Note:
1. Do not apply steam on any clothes or fabrics that are being worn by human or pets.
Temperature of steam is very high.
2. Maintain a distance of a few centimeters from delicate fabric (synthetics, silk, velvet, etc.).
Otherwise the fabric could be damaged.
IRONING WITHOUT STEAM
Plug in the supply cord (tube) into the socket. Press the on/off switch (3) but do not press the boiler on/off (2). Choose the desired temperature by turning the temperature adjustment knob (8). Wait for the iron temperature warning light (6) to turn off, indicating that the desired temperature has been reached. Do not press the extra steam button (10) and steam lock button (10) when ironing without steam.
REFILLING WITH WATER
- Turn off the on/off switch, press the extra steam button until steam is no longer discharged from the iron. There will be no more pressure inside the boiler.
- Slowly unscrew the boiler cap. USE EXTRA CARE.
- Pour a maximum of 800ml of tap water into the boiler.
- Firmly screw the boiler cap. Turn on the on/off switch again. WARNING! The boiler cap must not be opened while there is still pressure in the boiler. If the boiler has been in continuous use for a long time, the boiler cap may be hot! Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine7

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
1. Disconnect the supply cord from the socket.
2. Wait until the appliance cools down.
3. Use a damp cloth or non-scratching cleaner to remove any deposits from the soleplate.
1. When fi nished, press the steam button several times to empty the water tank.
2. Disconnect from the power supply, after emptying the water tank.
3. Wait until the appliance cools down completely before storing it away.
