Put everything back together again. Make sure that the lter holder (23) snaps into the lter compartment (22) at both noses. Descaling Kettle In order to increase the service life of the kettle, it must be descaled at regular inter- vals. The water hardness determines how often the appliance must be descaled. Calcium deposits can be recognized by the staining on the inside of the kettle. To descale the kettle proceed as follows: Fill the kettle (10) up to the MAX mark with a mixture of fresh water and citric acid or vinegar essence (approx. 5% acid). Allow the descaling solution to soak in for approx. 10 minutes. To clean the calcium lter, remove it from the holder and insert it into the descaling solution. Empty the kettle and rinse out several times with fresh water. Clean the calcium lter under run- ning water and insert it into the holder again. NOTE If you use a commercially available ► descaling agent, observe the manu- facturer's instructions for use. Coffee machine In order to increase the service life of the appliance and not impair the quality of the coffee, it must be descaled at regular in- tervals. The descaling interval depends on the water hardness (we recommend pre- cautionary descaling every 3 months). To descale the coffee machine proceed as follows: Fill the water tank (16) up to the 8 mark with a mixture of fresh water and citric acid or vinegar essence (approx. 5% acid). Swing in the lter compartment (22) with lter holder (23) and permanent lter (24) without coffee powder.32 Ecco De Luxe 4 in 1 EN BEEM - Elements of Lifestyle Put the thermos jug (19) with lid (20) onto the resting plate (18). Switch on the coffee machine. Wait until approximately one cup has run through and then switch off the coffee machine. Allow the descaling solution to soak for approximately 10 minutes and switch on the coffee machine again. The descaling procedure is com- plete when all of the solution has run through. After descaling, repeat the procedure twice with fresh water to rinse the cof- fee machine. Rinse the thermos jug (19), lid (20), lter holder (23) and permanent lter (24) thoroughly under running water. Push the drip-stop (21) several times while rinsing. NOTE If you use a commercially available ► descaling agent, observe the manu- facturer's instructions for use.
