Descaling

Kettle

In order to increase the service life of the kettle, it must be descaled at regular intervals. The water hardness determines how often the appliance must be descaled. Calcium deposits can be recognized by the staining on the inside of the kettle.

To descale the kettle proceed as follows:

Fill the kettle (10) up to the MAX mark with a mixture of fresh water and citric acid or vinegar essence (approx. 5% acid).

Allow the descending solution to soak in for approx. 10 minutes.

To clean the calcium filter, remove it from the holder and insert it into the descaling solution.

Empty the kettle and rinse out several times with fresh water.

Clean the calcium filter under run- ning water and insert it into the holder again.

NOTE

If you use a commercially available.
descaling agent, observe the manufac-.
facturer's instructions for use.

Coffee machine

In order to increase the service life of the appliance and not impair the quality of the coffee, it must be descaled at regular intervals. The descending interval depends on the water hardness (we recommend precautionary descending every 3 months).

To descale the coffee machine proceed as follows:

Fill the water tank (16) up to the 8 mark with a mixture of fresh water and citric acid or vinegar essence (approx. 5 % acid).

Swing in the filter compartment (22) with filter holder (23) and permanent filter (24) without coffee powder.

Put the thermos jug (19) with lid (20) onto the resting plate (18).

Switch on the coffee machine.

Wait until approximately one cup has run through and then switch off the coffee machine.

Allow the descending solution to soak for approximately 10 minutes and switch on the coffee machine again.

The descending procedure is complete when all of the solution has run through.

After descending, repeat the procedure twice with fresh water to rinse the coffee machine.

Rinse the thermos jug (19), lid (20), filter holder (23) and permanent filter (24) thoroughly under running water.

Push the drip-stop (21) several times while rinsing.

NOTE

If you use a commercially available.
descaling agent, observe the manufac turer's instructions for use.

If the appliance is severely scaled, it may be necessary to repeat the descaling process.
