- Check the self-blocking nuts and screws are correctly fixed - if they loosen they could cause the product to be less effective.
- Users are held responsible for checking in advance what safety rules apply in the country where they intend to use the DOC SKATE. DOC SKATE use may be prohibited in public areas or in areas subject to traffic regulations.
- Avoid use on gravel, sand, grass, slippery or wet surfaces. DOC SKATE was designed to be used on smooth and dry surfaces.
- Never drive near cliffs or precipices. DOC SKATE was not designed to be driven in these settings/terrains. The retailer, distributor, importer and manufacturer cannot be held liable for driver injuries or DOC SKATE and/or third party damages cause by this type of conduct.
- Never drive DOC SKATE with several people on the board, this could cause you to lose control of the vehicle.
- Never let unattended children near DOC SKATE: this could be a hazard.
- Do not store the batteries near heat sources, they could explode.
- Do not leave the charger in damp or wet places and do not use it if damaged. Routinely check the cable, plug and external casing. If damaged, do not use it until repaired.
- Never use DOC SKATE if not in perfect conditions.
- Never use DOC SKATE if you are not in perfect psycho-physical conditions. People who suffer from physical or mental disabilities should not, or should be prevented from using DOC SKATE.
- DOC SKATE uses electricity and requires a transformer.
- Warning: electrical shock risks may arise using the transformer.
- We highly discourage use by anyone who cannot comfortably stand on it.
- Always learn and observe local laws and regulations applicable where the DOC SKATE is used.
- Always keep away from car and engine powered vehicle traffic and only use DOC SKATE where permitted and cautiously.
- Wet, slippery, cracked, irregular or rough surfaces can reduce traction and increase the risk of accidents.5
- Be careful of potential obstacles that could get caught in the wheels or force you to suddenly swerve or lose control.
- Do not drive in the rain or when the outdoor temperature risks freezing surfaces.
- Never submerge DOC SKATE in water since electrical components could be damaged by water or generate hazardous conditions.
- Regularly lubricate the ball bearings of the wheels with the exception of the drive wheel.
- Any sharp edges or splinters in the board caused by use should be removed using sandpaper.6
3) Rear wheels, one drive
DOC SKATE is controlled entirely through a remote control.
1) Switching the remote control on and off
4) Stick forward = accelerate
DOC SKATE is a self-balancing electric skateboard. Easy to use and entertaining, but most importantly it is environmentally friendly. WORKING PRINCIPLE DOC SKATE uses advanced technology to maintain balance. Thanks to a gyroscope, an accelerometer and an algorithm for their combined use, DOC SKATE offers an impression of “floating” on the surface. Through the PID traction control, the drive applied to the one rear wheel is easily transmitted and distributed to the 4 wheels of DOC SKATE. The maximum speed DOC SKATE can reach is 15 km/h. Its gyroscope and accelerometer allow easy balancing, suitable even for less experienced users. WHEN GOING ROUND CURVES SLOW DOWN CONSIDERABLY TO AVOID BEING THROWN OFF THE BOARD BY CENTRIFUGAL FORCE. FUNCTION MODE
When it is off, press the PWR button to switch it on. The status signal will light up and a sound signal will be emitted. The procedure for switching it off is of course identical. Keep the button pressed for at least two seconds. In this case as well a sound signal will confirm it is switching off. DOC SKATE works in two modes:
You can switch from one mode to the other in two different ways:
- Directly on the Skate: when it switches on, DOC SKATE is in Slow mode. Press the power button twice in rapid succession. A rapid sequence of 3 beeps with different tones will signal the product is going into Speed mode. To return to Slow mode repeat the same sequence of actions. The success of the operation will be confirmed by 4 beeps with different tones.
- Using the remote control: switch on DOC SKATE and the remote control. Set the accelerator control stick into the BRAKE position and, with the stick in that position, switch the Forward-Back selector forwards and backwards twice. In this case as well the success of the operation will be confirmed by a sound signal with different tones. These operations switch from one mode to the other, regardless of the initial mode.8
FIRST STEPS Switch on DOC SKATE and the remote control. Decide which mode you want (Slow or Speed). Put one foot on and check you are properly balanced on the SKATE, then stand with both feet. Start the SKATE using the control stick.
- DOC SKATE is a lot more sensitive in Speed mode.
- Move the control stick gradually.
- Always keeps your legs apart on the board.
- Try to keep your body’s barycentre as low as possible.
- Bend forwards in the acceleration phase.
- Bend backwards when braking.
- Steering with DOC SKATE is like steering with a traditional skateboard. SPEED LIMITS
- Slow: The top speed for DOC SKATE in Slow mode is 6 Km/h. When this limit is reached the speed will be constant. It takes about 3 seconds to reach that limit.
- Speed: The top speed for DOC SKATE in Speed mode is 15 Km/h. In this case too, when this limit is reached the speed will be constant. It takes about 5 seconds to reach that limit.
When the command stick is released, it automatically returns to neutral position and the drive wheel will no longer have any drive - it will move by inertia. If the stick is moved into the BRAKE position the wheel will block immediately. ATTENTION: THE BRAKING EFFECT ONLY ACTS ON THE DRIVE WHEEL. BEAR THIS IN MIND DURING USE. FEASIBLE DISTANCE The maximum distance DOC SKATE can cover depends on a number of factors:
- Topography: the feasible distance on smooth, flat roads increases, whereas it decreases if moving uphill.
- Weight: the user’s weight will influence the feasible distance.
- Temperature of use: cold temperatures decrease the battery’s efficiency.
- Maintenance: if DOC SKATE is charged correctly the duration of the battery will increase considerably.
- Speed and driving style: driving at a moderate, constant speed increases the feasible distance. Stopping, starting, accelerating and decelerating frequently decrease duration.9
BLUETOOTH OPERATION (ONLY FOR MODEL DOC+ SKATE) The DOC+ SKATE (cod. 30NXSKMO00001) has Bluetooth fitted to let you interact using Android and IOS Apps to take full advantage of all the functions on your DOC+ SKATE. For further information about the use of Bluetooth and the Apps, download and read the Nilox on-line manual.
BATTERY CHARGE LEVEL DOC SKATE will emit a sound signal when the battery’s charge is low. In that case you should switch off your DOC SKATE. A battery with low charge level causes incorrect driving, with the risk of damaging the drive wheel, shortening the battery’s life and, most importantly, there is the risk of falling. BATTERY CHARGING To charge the battery, only use the charger supplied with DOC SKATE.
Remove the cover cap and insert the plug.
Connect the charger to the electrical mains.
Stop charging when the LED turns green and close the power port.
- Charge time: approx. 90-180 minutes.
