  Only use the appliance as described in this manual.

The manufacturer/importer accepts no liability for damages caused by failure to observe this instruction manual, careless use of the appliance or use not in accordance with the instructions contained in this manual.
• Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities (including children), or anyone lacking sufficient knowledge or expertise, unless supervised by or following instruction from someone responsible for their safety.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children under 8 years of age.
  Children must be strictly supervised to prevent them from treating the appliance like a toy.

• Do not allow unsupervised children to clean or maintain this appliance.
  Always remove the plug from the plug socket and allow the appliance to cool down:

o before moving the appliance;
o before storing the appliance;
o before assembling or disassembling parts;
o before cleaning the appliance or performing maintenance;
o after using the appliance.

• Repairs may only be carried out by a qualified service centre*.

Electricity and heat

• Before use, check that the mains power supply voltage is the same as the voltage indicated on the appliance.
  Always plug the appliance into an earthed plug socket.
  Regularly check the power cord for damage.
• Do not use the appliance if the power cord is damaged. Have a damaged power cord replaced by a qualified service centre.

Using the appliance

• This appliance is intended for domestic and similar use, such as:

• The use of accessories not recommended by the manufacturer of the appliance may result in personal injury.

• Remove the plug from its socket when the appliance is not in use and for cleaning.
• Do not allow the power cord to hang over sharp edges, and keep it away from hot objects and naked flames.
• Never use the appliance if the power cord or plug show any signs of damage, if the appliance has fallen on the ground or in the event of any other form of damage. In such cases, take the appliance to a qualified person for inspection and, if necessary, have it repaired.
• Never allow unsupervised children to use electrical household appliances. Children are unable to assess the dangers associated with the incorrect use of electrical appliances.
  Children who are close to the appliance or who are using it must always be kept under adult supervision.
• Never leave the appliance unattended whilst it is in use.
• Never place hard or sharp objects on the baking tray. This may damage the non-stick coating.
• Do not use this appliance near birds (e.g. tropical birds, such as parrots). The grill plate has a non-stick PTFE coating. When heated, the coating may release small quantities of gases which are totally harmless to humans. However, the nervous system of birds has been found to

• Keep the appliance clean, since it comes into direct contact with foodstuffs.
• Only pick up the appliance by its handle, certain parts of the appliance become hot during use. Do not touch the metal parts, these get very hot.

Please do not touch the surface while the appliance is in use. The accessible surface may become hot when the appliance is switched on.

OPERATION

This sandwich maker can be used to grill toasted sandwiches or sandwiches.

USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

• Remove all packaging from the appliance.
  Clean the appliance, see 'Cleaning and Maintenance'.
• Close the lid of the sandwich maker.
• Insert the plug into the mains power socket.
• Allow the appliance to warm up for ten minutes. This will allow any dust and manufacturing residues to burn away. A small amount of smoke may be released from the appliance whilst it is warming up. This is normal and does not indicate a problem with the appliance.
  Make sure there is sufficient ventilation.
  After ten minutes, remove the plug from the plug socket.
• Allow the appliance to cool.
• Continue with the procedure in 'Using the appliance'.

USING THE APPLIANCE

• Insert the plug into the mains power socket; the red indicator light will turn on/off.
• Allow the appliance to heat up. The green temperature indicator light will go on once the appliance has reached the correct temperature.
• Open the sandwich maker from the lock.
• Place the bread on the plate. Thanks to the non-stick layer it is not necessary to spread butter or oil on the bread, however it is advised to do so if you want a golden-brown crust on the bread.
• Close the lid of the sandwich maker, without exercising any force.
• Click the lock shut in order to press the specific toasted sandwich-type.

• Toast the sandwich until the filling begins to melt or until the bread is golden-brown.
• Use a spatula to place the cooked sandwich on your plate. Bon appetit!
• Remove the plug from the mains power socket.
• Allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning or storing.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Warning:

Before cleaning the appliance, always switch it off, unplug it from the electricity supply and allow it to cool down completely.

• Do not clean the appliance with an aggressive or abrasive cleaner, or with a sharp object such as a hard brush or knife.
• Use kitchen paper to remove cooking residues from the plates.
• Use a damp cloth to clean the outside of the appliance and the plates.
  Dry them with a dry cloth.

STORAGE

Clean the appliance (see 'Cleaning and maintenance').
Store the appliance in a dry place.

Best Budget cannot be held liable for damage:
o as a result of a fall or accident;
o if the appliance has been technically modified by the user or third-parties;
o due to improper use of the appliance; o due to normal wear and tear.
Always retain your proof of purchase, without this proof of purchase you will not be able to make a claim on any form of warranty.
- In the event of damage caused as a result of a failure to observe the instructions, any warranty rights are voided! Best Budget cannot be held liable for any consequential damages arising out of this.
- Best Budget cannot be held liable for damage to property or personal injury caused by improper use or a failure to observe safety regulations. In such instances, any warranty claim shall be voided.
- Other than cleaning, as set out in these instructions, no maintenance to this appliance is necessary.
- If repairs need to be carried out, these may only be carried out by an authorised company.
The product may not be modified or altered.
- If problems should occur within 2 years of the date of purchase, which are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, you can present the appliance at your point of sale in exchange for a replacement.
In case of any queries or complaints, please register these at your point of sale.
This appliance has a 24 month warranty effective from the date of purchase (sales receipt).
Only defects in materials and/or workmanship shall qualify in respect of this warranty.
If you wish to make your warranty claim, then please ensure that you hand in the appliance in its entirety and

• Damage to accessories or parts does not automatically infer that the entire appliance shall be replaced. In such instances, you must contact our service department. Broken glass/plastic parts or accessories are not covered by the warranty. It will always be possible to arrange for their replacement for a fee.
• Faults to accessories or to parts subject to wear, including cleaning, maintenance or the replacement of parts subject to wear are not covered by the warranty and will not therefore be considered!
  The warranty is voided in cases of unauthorised handling.
• Following expiry of the warranty, repairs can be performed by the authorised dealer or repair service for a fee for the ensuing costs.
