How can I use the Unold 86410 heater?

The appliance is very hot during and after operation - danger of burn injuries! Do not use timers or other external switch-on / switch-off systems to operate the appliance. Use of such items could unintentionally reset the overheating protection circuit and cause a fire hazard.

To prevent overheating and the associated fire hazard, never cover the appliance during operation.

Do not operate the appliance in the vicinity of sinks, bathtubs or other containers filled with water.

The manufacturer will not be liable in the event of incorrect assembly, improper or incorrect use or if repairs are carried out by unauthorized third parties.

TILT PROTECTION

When you lightly shake the appliance you will hear a noise coming from the interior of the appliance. This is caused by

the tilt protection technology used; there is no defect in the appliance!

The tilt protection switches the appliance off immediately, as soon as the appliance tilts to a position where safe operation is in jeopardy.

THE IDEAL LOCATION

1. Maintain an adequate safety distance (at least 1 meter) to other objects, such as furniture, curtains, etc.
2. Only place the appliance in operation in a vertical position.
3. Ensure that air can flow in and out unhindered - do not, under any circumstances, cover the air inlets of the appliance.
4. Only place the appliance on a solid and level substrate. Do not place the appliance on soft surfaces (sofa, bed) because the appliance can tip over.

5. In addition, ensure that the appliance is not set up on deep-pile carpets or in dusty environments.

6. Never place the appliance directly under an electrical outlet, and ensure that the power socket used is easily accessible at all times.

7. Check whether the power cord is routed in such a manner that no one can stumble over it.
8. The power cord should not touch any housing parts, this could cause the cable to melt.

BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE THE FIRST TIME

1. Remove all packaging materials and any transport safeguards.

2. Comply with all instructions that are specified in the chapter, "The ideal location" and "For your safety", and find a suitable location.

3. When you use the appliance for the first time, or if it has not been operated for an extended period of time, a slight odour can occur.

PREPARING THE APPLIANCE FOR OPERATION

1. Ensure that you have selected a safe location.
2. Comply with all safety instructions and safety regulations.
3. Plug the mains plug of the appliance into an electrical outlet (220-240 V ~ 50 Hz)
4. Select the desired temperature level on the rotary regulator.

Heating mode

"Low, for lower heating temperatures (1,200 watt)
"High" for more heat (2,000 watt)
Fan operation

"Cooler" for the fan function (cool air)

1. Then select the desired temperature on the rotary thermostat regulator. The regulator is variably adjustable.
2. The appliance heats until the desired temperature is reached, then the appliance

switches off. The appliance will switch on again as soon as the room temperature drops below the set temperature.

1. When you adjust the fan function, you must place the rotary thermostat regulator on the highest position.
2. To switch off the appliance, place the rotary regulator on the OFF position.
3. Always switch off the appliance after use by placing the rotary regulator in the OFF position, and unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet.

OSCILLATION FUNCTION / SWING FUNCTION

1. With this function it is possible to distribute the air flow over a larger area, because the appliance swings back and forth in a specific radius. 2. The oscillation function

this, press the "Swing" button on the rear of the appliance.

1. If you want to stop the appliance in a specific position, press the "Swing" button again.
2. Switch off the oscillation function before you switch off the appliance.

CLEANING AND CARE

1. Switch off the appliance.
2. Unplug the plug from the electrical outlet.
3. Allow the appliance to cool completely.

4. Never use any abrasive scouring agents, steel wool, metal objects, hot cleaning agents or disinfectants.

5. You can remove dust in the appliance if you carefully hold a vacuum cleaner against the air inlet and outlet grille.

6. Store the fan heater in a dry, safe place so that it is protected from dust, shocks, heat and moisture.

OVERHEATING PROTECTION CIRCUIT

1. The appliance is equipped with an overheating protection circuit that switches the appliance off when it is heated over 70^ .
2. If the overheating protection circuit has been tripped, switch the appliance off, unplug the plug from the electrical outlet and let the appliance cool for at least 10 minutes.
3. Eliminate the cause of the overheating, (e.g. excessive dust in the appliance, air outlet

grille is covered) and start up the appliance again.
4. If after eliminating the cause, you still cannot switch the appliance back on, or if the overheating protection circuit switches on without an apparent reason, contact our customer service organisation.

GUARANTEE CONDITIONS

We guarantee our appliances for 24 months, or in case of commercial use for 12 months, from the date of purchase in case of defects that occur during normal use and are demonstrably due to a factory fault. Within the warranty period we will remedy defective materials or workmanship through repair or replacement, at our option.

Our warranty terms apply only to appliances sold in Germany and Austria. For other countries, please contact the responsible importer. In the event of a claim for remedy of defects, please send the appliance to our after sales service, properly packaged and postage paid, together with a copy of the automatically generated sales receipt, which must show the date of purchase, and a description of the defect. If the defect is covered by the warranty, the customer will be reimbursed for the shipping costs. The warranty does not cover damage from normal wear, improper handling and failure to comply with the maintenance and care instructions. The warranty is void if repairs or modifications are made to the appliance by third parties.

Any claims of the end consumer vis-à-vis the retailer are not limited by this warranty.
