Where to install the Siemens GS29VVW31N freezer?

Install in a dry, ventilated room, away from sunlight and heat sources. Keep a 3 cm gap from electric or gas cookers, 30 cm from oil or coal heaters. The floor must be level and stable.

How to reverse the door opening direction?

Reversal is possible but recommended by the after-sales service. Unplug the appliance, lay it on its back with a cushion, then follow the numbered steps in figure 1 of the manual. The handle must also be changed (figure 2 A/B).

How to adjust the freezer level?

Use the two front screw feet. With a wrench, screw or unscrew until the appliance is perfectly level (check with a spirit level).

What is the minimum height of the wall gap?

The wall gap must allow the door to open completely. The supplied spacers are mounted 5 cm from the side edges to ensure a minimum distance.

Can I install a refrigerator next to the freezer?

Yes, place the refrigerator to the left of the freezer. Use spacers to prevent condensation. A joining kit is available from the retailer.

How to clean the freezer?

Unplug the appliance, remove the food. Clean the interior with a soft cloth and soapy water. Rinse and dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

What to do in case of a power failure?

Autonomy is about 30 hours. Avoid opening the door. Food stays frozen if the temperature does not rise too much. Check the condition of food after a long outage.

How to activate fast freezing?

Press the 'Super Freeze' or 'Fast Freezing' button depending on the model. The function automatically deactivates after 2-3 days or manually.

Where to find spare parts for this model?

Contact Siemens after-sales service or an authorized dealer. Parts such as the handle, shelves, or door gaskets are available.

Why is the alarm sounding?

The alarm may be due to an excessively high temperature (door open) or a malfunction. Check the door closure and set temperature. Consult the manual to reset.

Installation location

A dry, well ventilated room is suitable as an installation location. The installation location should not be exposed to direct sunlight and not placed near a heat source, e.g. a cooker, radiator, etc. If installation next to a heat source is unavoidable, use a suitable insulating plate or observe the following minimum distances from the heat source:

3 cm to electric or gas cookers.
30 cm to an oil or coal-fired cooker.

The floor of the installation location must not give way; if required, reinforce floor. If the floor is uneven, compensate with supports.

When installing the appliance, ensure that the door can be opened by 90^ .

When installing two appliances, ensure that the refrigerator is on the left and the freezer is on the right.

The right side panel of the refrigerator is heated slightly. This prevents condensation from forming between the appliances.

1. On the right side of the refrigerator, degrease the adhesive areas with petroleum ether or spirit.
2. Stick spacers in all four corners at a distance of 5cm from the side edges to ensure a minimum gap between the appliances.

Changing over the door hinges

We recommend that you have the door hinges changed over by our customer service. You can find out the costs for changing over the door hinges from your appropriate customer service.

Warning

While changing over the door hinges, ensure that the appliance is not connected to the power supply. Pull out the mains plug beforehand. To prevent damaging the back of the appliance, place adequate padding underneath. Carefully place the appliance on its back.

If available:

Fit wall spacers to obtain the indicated energy absorption of the appliance. A reduced wall gap will not restrict the function of the appliance. The energy absorption may then change slightly.

Aligning the appliance

Place the appliance in the designated location and align. The appliance must be level. If the floor is uneven, use the front height-adjustable feet. Adjust the height-adjustable feet with a wrench.

Note

The appliance must be upright. Please align it with a spirit level.
