STEP 1. Place the scales on a hard, flat surface on the floor (not on carpet or other soft floor covering).

SETP 2. Stand on the scales. The scales will switch on automatically. Keep standing straight on the scales without moving and wait until the numbers stop changing.

2. Automatic switch off

When you step off the scales, it will switch itself off automatically after 8 seconds.

3. To change unit of weight

There is a button on the underside of the scales which you can press to change the unit of weight. See illustration below.

Press the button to change the unit of weight from kg (kilo), lb (pound) or st (stone).

4. Overload

If the scales are overloaded with more than 152kg the following code will appear:

If the code appears, step off the scales to avoid damage.

5. Battery low

If the batteries are low, the following code will appear:

If the code appears, replace the batteries.

6. Replacing batteries

The battery compartment is on the underside of the scales. Press the tab down and fit 2 batteries (AAA). Make sure that you place the + of the battery next to the + of the battery compartment.

TIP Batteries last longer if you avoid using old and new batteries together. It is also better to use just one type of battery: normal, alkaline or rechargeable.

7. Advice and maintenance

These bathroom scales are a precision instrument. It will keep working well if you treat it with care.

1. Do not stand on the scales with wet feet. The glass on the scales is slippery when wet.
2. Keep still whilst weighing yourself.
3. The scales may break if you: hit it, bang against it too hard or drop it.
4. Dry the scales with a damp cloth and do not allow water to get into it. Do not use chemical or abrasive cleaning agents.
5. Store the scales in a cool place with dry air.
6. If the scales do not automatically activate, check the batteries. Replace if necessary.
7. These scales are for domestic use only.

All HEMA domestic electrical appliances, electric tools, electric garden tools, watches, alarm clocks and ICT equipment is guaranteed for 2 years from date of purchase (or longer if stated on the packaging or instructions).

The warranty on this article is invalidated if

a. the defect occurs through incorrect or improper use, neglect, connection to the wrong power voltage, or if dropped or knocked;
b. you have attempted to repair the article yourself, or have had it repaired by a repair service other than HEMA during the warranty period.

If you wish to make a claim under the warranty terms

You will need to take the article to one of our branches together with the warranty receipt.

Extra certainty for the right choice

If, after purchasing this article, you are in any way dissatisfied (because it is not exactly what you expected or you already have this article), you can return it within 30 days of purchase, on condition that it is undamaged and in the original packaging.

Remember that you must always bring your sales receipt with you.
