You can grill steaks, sausages, vegetables, and also prepare sandwiches. The warming compartment allows you to warm rolls or toasts while cooking.
How do I use the warming compartment?
Place the rolls or toasts in the warming compartment (4) and close it. If necessary, cut the rolls in half so they fit. This warms them while cooking food on the grill.

Never lift or move the appliance with the mains cable.

Do not cut any food on the grill plate. Only use spoons and spatulas for turning over food that are suitable for non-stick surfaces.

Requirements for the place of use

For safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance, the place of operation must satisfy the following requirements:

Place the appliance on a level, heat resistant surface that is also resistant to splashing fat.

The surface finishes on furniture may contain substances that can be detrimental to the rubber feet of the appliance. If necessary, place a mat under the feet of the appliance.

Do not place the appliance in a hot, wet or very humid environment or in the vicinity of inflammable materials. There must be a gap of at least 15cm between the appliance and any walls, furniture or other objects.

Select a location that does not allow children to reach the hot surfaces of the appliance.

The mains socket must be easily accessible and allow fast disconnection in the event of an emergency.

Do not operate the appliance directly underneath a smoke detector and ensure that there is sufficient ventilation in order to avoid triggering a false alarm.

Electrical connection

For safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance, the following instructions on the electrical connection must be be observed:

Before connecting the appliance, compare the connection data (voltage and frequency) on the rating plate with those of your mains power supply. The data must correspond in order to avoid damage to the appliance. If in doubt, ask your electrical appliance retailer.

The mains socket must be protected by at least a 10 A automatic circuit breaker.

Ensure that the mains cable is undamaged and is not laid over sharp edges.

The mains cable must not be pulled tightly, bent or come into contact with hot surfaces.

Route the mains cable to prevent risk of tripping.

If the appliance is to be connected to the power supply via an extension lead, the cable cross-section must be at least 1.5mm^2

The electrical safety of the appliance is only assured when it is connected to a properly installed protective earth (PE) conductor system. Connection to a mains socket without PE conductor is forbidden. If in doubt, the electrical system must be checked by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer assumes no liability for injury or damage caused by a missing or interrupted protective earth conductor.

Switching the appliance on/off

Insert the plug into the mains socket to switch on the appliance.

NOTE

The grill plates (5) have a ceramic non-stick coating. It prevents food from sticking. It is also resistant to scratching, high temperatures, can be cleaned easily and is environment friendly.

Unpacking

Remove the appliance, all accessory parts and the user manual from the box.

Remove all packaging materials and protective foils from the product and the accessories before using it for the first time.

NOTE

Do not remove the rating plate or any warning signs on the appliance. If possible, keep the original packaging during the guarantee period in order to be able to pack the appliance properly in the event of a guarantee or warranty claim. Transport damage will invalidate the warranty or guarantee.

Checking the delivery contents

Check for visible signs of damage or missing items.

Report incomplete or damaged contents to your supplier immediately.

Before using for the first time

Clean the appliance as described in the section Cleaning and care (page 20).

Insert the plug into the mains socket. The control indicator (1) lights up.

After reaching the set temperature, the control indicator (1) extinguishes.

NOTE

The appliance may give off a little smoke when used for the first time. This is completely normal. Ensure sufficient ventilation.

Pull the plug out of the mains socket. Allow the appliance to cool down completely.
Clean the appliance as described in the section Cleaning and care (page 20).

Operation and use

General instructions

The food should be at room temperature since frozen food requires longer to cook and can also dry out.

To achieve the best results, preheat the grill until the required temperature has been reached and the control indicator (1) extinguishes.

Pay attention to the grilling process.

You can use the appliance to cook various different foods such as steaks, sausages or vegetables.

The appliance is particularly suitable for quick low-fat preparation of meals since both sides are grilled simultaneously and the ribbed surface of the grill allows fat to quickly flow into the drip tray.

If you wish to grill different meals at the same time, they must have the same thickness so that contact to the surface of the grill plate remains even.

3 mm and 11 mm rubber stoppers are provided with the appliance. These can be used on the front legs respectively depending the angle of inclination required for grilling e.g., 3 mm to allow the fat to run off easily or 11 mm to prevent bread rolls from slipping off the hot plate.

Using the appliance

Place the drip tray (3) at the front underneath the appliance.

Insert the plug into a mains socket.

Allow the appliance to heat up after switching on. The operating temperature is reached in approx. 6 minutes when the cover is closed.

The temperature has been reached when the control indicator (1) extinguishes.

Put the food onto the lower grill plate and close the grill.

To warm up bread rolls or toast during grilling, proceed as follows:

Put the bread or bread rolls into the warming compartment (4) and close it the bread rolls may need to be cut into halves).

NOTE

Check the cooked condition of the food periodically.

Cleaning and care

Before beginning any work, pay attention to the safety instructions in the section Safety instructions (page 15)!

The appliance must be cleaned after each use.

Clean the appliance as soon as it has cooled down. Waiting too long makes cleaning unnecessarily difficult.

Leftovers that stick to the grill plates can burn into the coating if not removed correctly.

Grill plates

Remove leftovers using the cleaning spatula (2).

Wipe the grill plates with a damp cloth or sponge and a little washing-up liquid and then with a damp cloth without washing-up liquid.

Drip tray

Remove the drip tray (3), empty it and wash with warm water or in a dishwasher.

Warming compartment

Wipe the warming compartment (4) with a damp cloth or a sponge.

Dry the warming compartment after cleaning with a soft cloth.

Housing

Wipe the housing with a damp cloth or sponge.

Storage

If you do not intend to use the appliance for a longer period of time, clean it as described in the section Cleaning and care (section 20).

Store the appliance and all accessory parts at a dry, clean and frost-free location which is protected against direct sunlight.
