Installation
The extractor must be installed at least 65~cm above the cooking surface. If the installation instructions of the cooking appliance specify a greater distance, this must be taken into account. Fit the extractor in such a way that it will be easy to remove from the wall without causing any damage. Removal may be necessary for future service operations.
The extractor must be connected to an extraction duct with a minimum diameter of 150~mm . This is very important to ensure the life and extraction capacity of your extractor.
Extraction
The extraction duct must be connected directly to the motor housing. When fitting the extraction duct, make sure that the one-way valve is not blocked! We recommend fitting the duct with tape and not with screws.
It is advisable to keep the duct as short as possible, with as few bends as possible. It is also advisable to use a smooth duct in order to keep resistance to the minimum. This is extremely important for the best operation of your extractor.
Note: No ducting is supplied with the extractor.
If it is not possible to vent the steam outside, the extractor can be used in the filter mode F (recirculation) by fitting carbon filters. The filtered air is returned to the kitchen through the openings on the side of the chimney.
Electrical connection
The mains voltage must correspond to the voltage stated on the factory plate inside the hood.
Environmental instructions
Should do you want to dispose of the appliance for whatever reason, please observe the following:
Take the appliance to the local authorised collection point for scrapped household appliances. Correct processing can ensure that valuable materials are recycled intelligently. Before you dispose of the appliance, it is important to cut off the electrical supply cable and remove it with the plug.
This appliance bears the mark in terms of the European Directive 2002/96 EG on waste electrical and electronic equipment. This directive lays down the standards for the collection and recycling of waste equipment which are applicable to the entire territory of the European Union.

Using the extractor
Operation
When the appliance is switched off, pressing any button activates the standby function and the symbols are illuminated with a soft light so that you can see the functions and set them. Pressing one of the buttons activates the relevant function, and the symbol lights up in blue. In order to save energy, the operating system is provided with a device that returns the buttons to the idle setting after all functions have been switched off and illuminates them with soft light for about 30 seconds, after which they switch off.
The extraction hood has 6 buttons:

A B C D E F
A: BORETTI LUMINA LED Lighting on/off
B:Motor on/off
C: Reduce motor speed
D: Increase motor speed
E: Delay switch
F: Replace carbon filter /clean grease filter indicator
Motor
The motor has 4 settings. The display indicates the selected setting as follows:
Setting 1: Button C flashes and lights up in blue
Setting 2: Button C lights up in blue
Setting 3: Button D lights up in blue
Setting 4: Button D flashes and lights up in blue
Heat sensor
When the extractor is used in the automatic mode, the motor speeds are switched automatically by means of a heat sensor fitted in the hood. This mode is recommended only for intensive use of the cooking surface (when two or more cooking zones or burners are in use). The automatic mode is activated by pressing buttons C and D at the same time. The extractor operates automatically and the heat sensor automatically adjusts the motor speed to the temperature of the cooking surface. Button B
flashes to indicate that the heat sensor is on. To return to manual operation, press buttons C and D simultaneously again. The correct operation of the heat sensor depends on the distance between the hood and the cooking surface. The greater the distance, the less sensitive the sensor becomes.
Delay switch
Your extraction unit has a delay switch. The delay switch is a timer that will switch off the extractor after a number of minutes and allows you the option of keeping the extractor running after you have finished cooking in order to remove the last cooking odours from the kitchen while you are enjoying your meal.
You can set the delay by pressing button E. Pressing the button once will set the timer at five minutes and button E will flash once repeatedly; pressing it the second time will set the timer at 10 minutes and button E will flash twice repeatedly and pressing it for the third
time will set the timer at 20 minutes and button E will flash three times repeatedly.
To switch off the delay timer, press button E once again.
Filter indication
Button F will flash to indicate when your grease filters need cleaning (after 40 hours' operation) and when the carbon filters need to be replaced (after 120 hours' operation) if you are operating in recirculation mode.
You can easily reset the filter indication by pressing button F.
Hint
Switching on the extractor creates a current of air. However, it can take a moment before this current takes effect, which may create the impression that the extractor is not working properly. It is therefore advisable to set the extractor at low speed a few minutes before you start cooking, so that the air current can already be effective when you start cooking; this will also allow you to keep using your extractor at the lowest speeds. In this way your extractor makes the least noise, uses the least energy and gives the best results.
Maintenance
Always disconnect the extractor before doing any maintenance.
Cleaning
The extractor must be cleaned regularly, both inside and outside. Use a cloth with a neutral detergent for cleaning. Do not use abrasives!
Note: Not observing the cleaning standards for the extractor and for replacing and cleaning the filters may create a fire hazard. You are therefore requested to follow the instructions.
Grease filter
The grease filter must be cleaned once a month with mild detergents, by hand or in the dishwasher at a low washing temperature and with a short washing cycle.
Carbon filter (filter version only)
The carbon filter may not be washed or reused. The carbon filter must be replaced at least once every 4 months.
Lamp replacement
If the BORETTI LUMINA LED illumination is no longer working, please call Boretti's technical service.
Caution
Never a use the extractor when the grease filters are not fitted correctly! The extracted air may not be discharged into a duct that is also used for extracting smoke from devices which do not run on electricity.
Always ensure that the room is well ventilated when the extractor and any other appliances are used. Cooking on open flames under the extraction hood is strictly forbidden. Open flames will damage the filters, electronics, motor and illumination and can start a fire. When frying, watch out constantly that hot fat does not catch fire.
Strictly observe the technical and safety regulations for the extraction of smoke as laid down by the relevant local authorities.
