USER MANUAL M 85 Petra Electric

Before using Read the instructions carefully. They contain important information for the use, safety and maintenance of the appliance. Keep them in a safe place and transfer them to a possible succeeding user. Only use the appliance for the purpose mentioned in these instructions. When using pay particular attention to the following safety advice. Safety advice Only connect the appliance to alternating current -with a rated voltage according to the rating plate - to a correctly installed earthed socket. Cable and plugs must be dry. The appliance is designed for short time opera- tion. In case larger amounts are ground one after another, switch off the appliance after one cycle in order to allow the appliance to cool down. Only grind coffee with this appliance. Maximum capacity 60 g. Do not pull the cord over sharp edges or jam it, and protect it from heat and oil. Do not put the appliance on hot surfaces, such as hot plates or near unshielded gas flames. Do not disconnect the appliance by pulling at the cord or grip the cord with wet hands.

Only remove the lid after the fly cutter has stopped.

Children are not aware of the dangers that can be caused by electrical appliances. Therefore never operate the appliance unattended. Store the appliance out of the reach of children. If any of the following happens, do not use the appliance and unplug it immediately; - if the appliance or cord is damaged, or - if there is defect after a fall or similar. The appliance is not designed for commercial purposes.6 Putting into operation Prior to first use wipe the inside of the lid and the container with a damp cloth and rub dry afterwards. Connect the appliance to a socket. Then filll the bowl and put on the lid. The maximum capacity of 60 g is sufficient for about 10 cups of coffee. For security reasons the fly cutter mill can be operated with fixed lid only. For grinding, press down the button on the lid until the desired degree of fineness is obtained. This can be observed through the transparent cover during operation. After the fly cutter has stopped the coffee powder can be emptied. Prior to this, disconnect the appliance. Caution: danger of injury! In any case wait until the fly cutter has stopped operation! Cleaning and maintanance After use unplug the appliance. Never immerse the appliance in water, clean the outside with a damp cloth only. Do not use caustic or scouring cleaning agents. For cleaning, the fly cutter can be detached, by turning it anti-clockwise and removing it by lifting. Remaining powder can be removed by a brush. Afterwards simply put the fly cutter on the rotation element. The fly cutter is fixed automatically as soon as the motor starts working. The replacement of a damaged cord and any repairs to the appliance may only be carried out by a specialized service agent, as special tools are required. maximum level7 Improper repairs can cause considerable danger to the user. fitted to the mains lead. If the plug is unsuitable for your socket outlets or needs to be replaced, please note the following. If the plug isa nonrewirable one, cut it from the mains lead and immediately dispose of it. Never insert it into a socket outlet as there is a very great risk of an electric shock. 2 The replacement of the plug at the mains lead has to be done according to the following instrucitons: Important: The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code: blue: Neutral brown: Live As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with thecoloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: - the wire wich is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black. - the wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red. Do not connect any wire to the terminal which is marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol , or coloured green or green and yellow.

3. If a 13 A (BS 1363) plug is used it must be fitted with a 3 A fuse

conforming to BS 1362 and be ASTA aproved. If any other type of lug is used, the appliance must be prottected by a 5 A fuse either in the plug or adapter or at the distribution boured. If in doubt - consult a qualified electrician.
