ASSEMBLING THE VACUUM CLEANER
- Remove all packaging material from the appliance and its accessories.
- Insert the hose (3) in the connection inlet of the appliance (9), and press until it clicks (Fig. 1). To remove the hose, press its release buttons and pull at it.
- Assemble the handle of the flexible hose (3) on the upper part of the tube (2) and then assemble the floor brush (1) on the other end of the tube, as indicated on figures 2 and 3.
- The length of the telescopic tube can be adjusted. To do so, slide the adjusting button and pull the desired tube length, then release the button (fig. 4).
The floor brush (1) possesses 2 positions which allow you to clean all kinds of surfaces very easily, simply by changing the position adequately:
Setting with the bristles inside for cleaning carpets. Setting with the bristles outside for cleaning hard floors.
- The appliance is delivered with a wooden floor brush to vacuum wooden floors. Attach the brush to the tube (2).
OPERATION
- First of all, check if the filters are placed properly in the appliance, as vacuum cleaning without filter might damage the motor of the appliance irreparably (see paragraph FILTERS for their use and installation).
- CAUTION: In order to avoid important electric disturbance when starting the appliance, it is fitted with a "soft start" feature. This feature prevents the motor from starting at its full power. As a result, there might be a short time-lag (1 or 2 seconds) between the moment you press the on/off switch and the moment the appliance really starts. This is normal.
Pull out a sufficient length of power cord and insert the plug into the power socket. A yellow mark on the power cable shows the ideal cable length. Do not extend the cable beyond the red mark. Switch on the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF switch (8). - You can adjust the suction power manually with the wind force adjuster, or with the electronic power control switch (7). Use a low suction power for furniture and other delicate surfaces and use high suction power for fitted carpet and other floors.
- With the accessory supplied you can clean surfaces that are hard to reach, such as furniture (use the crevice tool) and delicate surfaces such as curtains (use the small brush). This accessory can be mounted on the handle or on the tube. You can find the accessory on the bottom of the appliance. To store it, you just need to insert it in the compartment foreseen to that end on the bottom of the appliance.
AFTER USE
- Stop the vacuum cleaner by depressing on the on/off switch.
- Disconnect plug from electrical outlet.
Simply press lightly with your foot on cable rewind button on top of the cleaner. If the cord does not enter completely in the appliance, pull 50~cm of the power cord out of the appliance and try again.
After use we advise you to empty the dust collector to avoid smells and mildew that could be caused by damp dust particles that could have been vacuumed, and also to guarantee an optimal efficiency during the next use. To do so, see below.
It is necessary to remove the hose from the connection inlet first.
- Press the release button (4) on the lid of the appliance and pull open the lid. Then pull out the dust collector (fig. 5, step 1 and 2).
- Press the unlocking button on the handle of the dust collector (fig. 5, step 3) to open the dustcup's lower cover and spill the rubbish.
- Close the collector and put it back in the appliance until it locks. Press on the lid of the appliance until you hear a click.
FILTERS
Your appliance consists of an accordion filter situated in the dust collector and of an air outlet filter situated in the back of the appliance.
Cleaning the accordion filter
If you notice that even after having emptied the dust collector, the suction power is reduced, clean the accordion filter. To do so:
Take out the dust collector as described above.
- Rotate the dust collector's lid until the arrow of the unlocked symbol is directly under the stripe of the lid (fig. 6, step 1).
Take out the filter unit (fig. 6, step 2).
- Rotate the accordion filter from the dust collector's lid until it is unlocked (fig. 6, step 3).
Take the accordion filter out of its protection grid by rotating it and pulling it out (fig. 6, step 4).
- Rinse the bracket and accordion filter in water, if necessary with help of a soft brush, and dry them completely (fig. 7). Never put them in the washing machine and never dry them with a hair dryer.
- To put the accordion filter back, proceed inversely.
Cleaning the air outlet filter
The air filter is situated in the air outlet grid in the back of the appliance and guarantees fresh air during cleaning. It should be cleaned approximately three times a year or when it becomes visibly solid.
Unplug the appliance, press the release button at the back of the appliance to open the air outlet grid and remove the filter (fig. 8). Shake it to remove the dust, put it back in the appliance and close the grid.
NOTE: After a certain number of cleanings the filters will be damaged or impossible to get back in their initial shape. In such case, please contact the nearest customer service to obtain new filters.
Cleaning the dust collector
Clean the inside of the dust collector with a damp cloth or sponge, but make sure it is totally dry before using the appliance again.

PRACTICAL HINTS
- When cleaning stairs, we advise you to keep the unit in a vertical orientation.
- In horizontal position, the appliance has a storage facility in the back of the appliance, that allows storing the floor brush, tube and flexible hose (for instance to move furniture).
If you notice a loss of suction power, it is probably due to one or a combination of the following events: blocked filter, full dust collector or blockage in tubes. If your appliance still does not work properly after you have checked those problems, please ask a qualified electrician for advice.
