2 | BEFORE FIRST USE
Before you use the appliance for the first time, please do as follows: Carefully unpack the appliance and remove all the packaging material. Keep the material (plastic bags and cardboard) out of reach of children. Check the appliance after unpacking for any damage, possible from transportation. Place the appliance on a stable and heat resistant surface.
Open the lid by pushing the unlock-button on the handle of the basket.
Remove the lid by pulling it straight up from the fryer. Remove the basket.
Wipe the exterior of the fryer and the reservoir only with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
Clean the lid and the basket in the dishwasher. Ensure that the parts are dried thoroughly before use.
Place the lid back on the fryer.
Check that the voltage in your home corresponds with the voltage printed on the bottom of the appliance and plug in the fryer.
Fill the reservoir with liquid frying fat to a level between the minimum and maximum level, respectively between 1.7 liters and 2.1 liters.
The frying fat can never be under or over the minimum or maximum level. Inside the reservoir you find the two lines indicating the minimum and maximum level.
If you wish to use solid fat, cut the blocks to small pieces. Turn the fryer on with the on/off button, position 1, and set the thermostat to the lowest temperature, 150^ . Wait until the solid fat is melted and check the level. Adjust the thermostat to the desired temperature.

Turn the fryer on with the on/off button, position 1. The red thermostatlamp will light up.
Slide the thermostat button to the right to the desired temperature. On the fryer only 150^ and 190^ are indicated. The markings under the thermostat button correspond each with an increase of 10 degrees. See figure.

Close-up of a kitchen grater with a black handle and control panel (no visible text or symbols)Add the desired quantity of food to the basket. Do not add too much food at one time (never more than 2/3).
Food should be as dry as possible ot reduce the amount of water getting into the oil. Shake the ice off of frozen products above the sink.
Lower the basket slowly into the oil. If you lower too fast, the oil can splash.
Close the lid properly.
Push the button of the lid of the frying basket releasing the lock and push the handle down back in the housing of the fryer.
When the food is cooked, open the lid with the unlock-button. Be careful: the damp is hot.
Fold out the handle, make sure it locks and lift the basket out of the oil. Carefully shake the excess fat of and hang the basket with the holding lugs to the edge of the reservoir to drain away the oil.
Take the basket out of the fryer and serve the food. Place the basket back and close the lid.
4 | AFTER FRYING
When you have finished frying, turn the fryer off with the on/off button and pull the plug from the socket.
Leave the fryer to cool for several hours before moving the fryer. If you want to move the fryer always use both hands.
5 | TIPS
- Note: during and after frying it is possible that drops of condensed water fall into the hot oil. The hard noise you can hear, is the reaction of the water with the oil/fat and is normal. It does not influence the use of the fryer.
- Note: Battered or coated food, like fish, may stick to the basket. To prevent this, lower the basket and than place the food in the fryer.
- Never salt the product before or during cooking. This will contaminate the oil.
- For the best results it is advisable not to fry the maximum quantity (ca. 1300 grams), but half (ca. 600-650 grams). Fry frozen products in even smaller portions, because they contain more water and cause the oil to cool down too much.
- If you make your own fries, thoroughly dry them after washing to make sure there will be no water in the oil. Fry the fresh fries in two times. The first time (pre-cooking) 5 to 10 minutes on 170 degrees. Lift the basket, let the oil drain and the fries to cool down for several minutes. For the second time turn the temperature control (cooking) to 190 degrees and cook the fries in 2 to 4 minutes. Lift the basket after frying and let the oil drain away.
6 | CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Always unplug the fryer and let it cool down completely. The oil/fat can be used longer, if you filter it regularly. Replace the oil/fat regularly, after 8 to 12 times.
Filter the oil/fat when it is cold. Pour the oil/fat through the spout in a clean bowl. Clean the reservoir with hot water and a mild detergent. Thoroughly dry the reservoir. Pour the oil/fat back in the reservoir through a fine sieve. Check each time if the level of the oil/fat is between the minimum and maximum level.
When replacing the oil/fat, follow the same steps as described before.
Liquid frying fat can be poured back in to the bottles. When using solid fat, turn the fryer on and wait until the fat loosens from the wall. Remember to remove the basket. Now remove the solid block of fat and wrap it in e.g. old newspapers.
Throw away used fat in the original packaging, or when using solid fat, wrapped in newspapers.
Never wash away fat or oil through the sink.
The lid is provided with a permanent metal filter and soaks up the smells, but lets the steam through. Clean the lid regularly to prevent a clogged filter.
Clean the complete lid and the basket in the dishwasher or with hot water and a mild detergent.
Ensure that the parts are dried thoroughly after cleaning.
Clean the exterior of the fryer with a damp cloth and when needed a mild detergent.
Never use any abrasives! Never immerse the heating element, power cord or plug in water or other liquids.
