USER MANUAL CX 490 Turmix
Elimination (recyclage)
1. Driving unit with rubber handle
2. Immersion mixer
- Attach mixer from below onto the driving unit.
- Insert the immersion mixer on the driving unit turning it until it clicks.
- The mixer may not be used directly in pots.
3. On/off switch
It works only if the safety button is pressed (4).
- To switch on the appliance keep the switch pressed down (if you release it, the mixer will turn off automatically for safety reasons).
- If the appliance is turned on when the battery charger is down, a safety device automatically turns it off. The LED display starts flashing (5). After it turns off automatically, do not press down on the On/Off button (3), otherwise the accumulator might be damaged.
4. Safety button
The safety button avoids that one accidentally turns on the appliance.
- To turn the appliance ON, press down on the safety button and the On/Off switch (3). While the mixer is working one can release the safety button.
5. Battery Charger - Led Display
While the appliance is being used, the battery charge status is displayed by the LED (the appliance is not connected to the battery charger):
- press the safety button (4.)
- LED is lit = Battery full
- LED flashes slowly = Battery half full
- LED flashes quickly = Battery almost empty
Before using the appliance for the first time, fully charge the base unit (approx. 2 hours).
6. Blending cup with lid
- Place the cup on a flat surface.
- To avoid spurts, immerger mixer completely before pressing down on the ON button.

For better results blend small portions.
-
To preserve in the fridge apply the lid onto the blending cup.
7. After use
- First draw out the immersion mixer.
- Remove the mixer for cleaning (be careful because the blade is very sharp; hold it only by its plastic handle).
- Insert the battery charger into the socket (do not use any other battery charger!).
- Position the driving unit on the special support. Keep all contacts clean.
8. Battery charge status:
- LED goes out after approx. 10 seconds. = battery full.
- LED on = battery is charging.
- If you don't use the appliance for a long time, unplug the battery charger.
Assembly
- The charging station can be placed on a flat surface or mounted on a wall with the screws contained in the box (not, however, over sinks, stoves or plugs).
9.-12. Assembly
- Unpack screws and screw anchors.
- Mark the holes on the wall (extract by pulling down the assembly plate from the charging station and use it like a template). Do not assemble over kitchen sinks, stoves or current sockets.
- Drill creating two holes (6 mm in diameter).
- Insert screw anchors and fix the plate with the screws (with pins in the upward position).
- Insert the charging station from above (it clicks).
- Insert the battery charger into the socket (the remaining cord can be wound around the two pins of the assembly plate).
- Position the driving unit onto the special support on the left.
2. Operating the appliance
Operating the appliance
Basic unit with immersion mixer
Before using the appliance for the first time, clean the appliance and tools. Before using the appliance for the first time, fully charge the base unit (approx. 2 hours).

An especially good result is achieved if the tools are used for the following applications:
- Immersion mixer
For blending mayonnaises, sauces, soups, shakes, baby food and for crushing ice and cutting cooked fruit and vegetables.

Important Notice
-
Before removing the mixer always wait for the appliance to turn completely Off (the rotating blades can cause serious injury).

Do not use in hot pots.
-
The immersion mixer is not suitable for preparing mashed potatoes.

Apply the immersion mixer onto the basic appliance turning it until it clicks.

Add food in the blending cup.

Completely immerse the mixer in the cup. Do not immerse the driving unit into the food.

Turning the appliance On:
-
Press the safety button (1). and the On/Off switch (2). (this safety device avoids one turning the appliance on by mistake).

While the mixer is On, one can release the safety button.
Note:
- Turn off the basic appliance, before pulling it out of the blended food.
Overload protection
If the motor switches itself off while the appliance is being used, the overload protection feature has been activated. Possible causes:
- the food has jammed the blender blade,
- too much pressure exerted on the food during the cutting process.
Eliminate the cause and switch on the appliance again.
After using the appliance / Cleaning
Caution!
- Never immerse the basic appliance or the battery charger in water and do not clean in the dishwasher.
- Remove the plug of the battery charger.
- Wipe the basic appliance and the charger with a moist cloth and then dry them.
- The blending cup can be washed in the dishwasher (upper tray/basket).
- Clean the blender with a brush under running water or in the dishwater (upper tray).
- Dry the blender foot in an upright position (blender blade face up) so that any trapped water can run out.
Note:
- When preparing red cabbage for ex., red stains may appear on the plastic parts that can be removed using a few drops of food oil.
- In case the appliance isn't used for a long time unplug it from the socket.
Use
This appliance is designed for domestic and not industrial use. Use the appliance for processing normal quantities of food for domestic use.
Please retain the operating instructions. If passing on the appliance to a third party, always include the operating instructions.
Lithium-lon Battery
The appliance is equipped with a high power lithium-ion battery that provides the following advantages:
maximum power even when the battery is almost empty.
short charging time.
- no memory effect. After each use it can be completely recharged without self-discharging.
- power remains the same even if the appliance has not been used for a long time.

Disposal
Equipment that has reached the end of its service life can be handed over at a sales outlet, and will be professionally disposed of free of charge.
Equipment that has hazardous defects should be disposed of immediately. Please ensure that it won't be used again.
Do not dispose of equipment with household rubbish (for environmental reasons!).
The appliance contains a lithium-ion battery that needs to be disposed of in a suitable way.

Safety instructions
Risk of electric shock!
Connect and operate the appliance only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate.
Do not use the appliance if the power cord and/or appliance are damaged. Keep children away from the appliance. After using the appliance, always pull out the main plug, also before cleaning or re-assembling the appliance, before leaving the room or if a outage occurs.
Only use the original battery charger.
Do not lay the power cord near sharp edges or hot surfaces. To prevent injury, repairs to the appliance, such as replacing a damaged power cord, should be carried out by our customer service only. Do not use the appliance with damp hands and do not operate at no load. Operate the appliance with original accessories only.
Caution when processing hot liquids. Liquids may splash during processing. Do not immerse the appliance in liquid. If there is a power failure, the appliance remains switched on.
Safety warnings for the battery:
Risk of explosion: protect the battery from the heat of flames!
Risk of injury!
If inappropriately used, (for ex. heat, flames or water) the battery might lose a liquid. DO NOT TOUCH this liquid.
Inflammable: only charge your battery with the supplied battery charger.
Never cover the battery charger. Keep away from easily inflammable objects.
The battery charger must be replaced only by our qualified, customer service personnel.
Persons, including children, who in view of the level of their physical, sensory or mental capacities, or their lack of experience or knowledge, are not in a position to use the equipment with safety, may not use the equipment without supervision or instruction from a responsible person.
Risk of in jury!
Replace the immersion mixer only when the appliance comes to a complete standstill - when switched off, the appliance continues running briefly. Never touch the blade of the immersion mixer with your hands.
Never introduce your hands in the rotating utensils.
Never clean the immersion mixer with your bare hands.

Our TURMIX electrical household appliances carry a warranty of 2 years from the date of purchase. We undertake to replace, free of cost, any parts of the appliance that get damaged as a consequence of material or manufacturing defects during the warranty period. Return shipments should be packed in the original packing or something equivalent. In case of improper handling or in case repairs are attempted by third parties, the warranty is rendered null and void. Damage from hydro-chemical influences (e.g. owing to calcification) as well as parts that are subjected to normal wear, do not fall under the warranty. Moreover, damage or function faults that are a consequence of water from softening plants are excluded from the warranty.
Please preserve your receipt carefully, it serves as the warranty certificate as well.
