How to use the kettle for the first time?

Before first use, boil fresh water twice without detergent. Discard this water. Then open the lid by turning the locking system, fill with water between the 0.5 L and MAX marks, close the lid, place the kettle on the base and plug it in. Press the button under the handle to turn on; the indicator lights up. The appliance switches off automatically when the water boils. Unplug before pouring.

What is the maximum capacity of the kettle?

The maximum capacity is indicated by the MAX mark on the kettle, which corresponds to approximately 1.7 liters. Never fill beyond this line to avoid splashing boiling water.

How to descale the kettle?

Descale the kettle every 3 to 4 months. Use a descaling product based on citric acid, commercially available. Follow the quantities indicated on the product. Do not use vinegar. Fill the kettle with the descaling solution, boil, then rinse several times with clean water.

What to do if the kettle does not heat?

First check that the kettle is properly plugged in and that the outlet works. Make sure the lid is properly closed and the appliance is on its base. If it still does not heat, it may be necessary to descale the appliance. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

General Safety Instructions

• Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.
• The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.
• When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
• Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).

Special Safety Instructions for this Machine

• Warning: Do not open the lid while the water is boiling.
• Use only cold water when filling.
• Only use the kettle with the accompanying base.
• The water level must be between the 0.5 L & MAX. Mark!
• Do not exceed the MAX mark when filling, otherwise the water may boil over and cause burns!
• Use the appliance only on a level work surface.
• Switch the machine off before removing it from the base.
• Always ensure that the lid is tightly closed.
• The base and exterior of the machine must not become wet.
• The machine must only be used with the lid closed!

First Use of the Machine

Before using the machine for the first time water should be boiled in it twice without any additives. Do not use this water.

1. Turn the lock in the lid to open it. Fill it with water. Do not overfill!! Close the lid again.
2. Place the kettle flush on the base.
3. Only connect the machine to a properly installed 230V 50 Hz safety socket.
4. Switch on the appliance with the switch under the handle. The LED will light up.
5. After boiling the machine switches off automatically. Disconnect the machine from the mains electricity supply. When pouring, do not press the lid too much. Danger of burns!

Cleaning

• Always remove the plug from the mains supply before cleaning the machine!
• The exterior of the machine should be cleaned, if necessary, with a slightly damp cloth without additives.
• The machine must never be immersed in water!

Decalcification

• The decalcification intervals depend on the hardness of the water and the frequency of use. Decalcification should be carried out every 3 to 4 months.
• If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably needs to be decalcified.
• Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available decalcification agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use the quantities stated in the instructions.

The device supplied by our Company is covered by a 24 month guarantee starting on the date of purchase (receipt).

During the life of the guarantee any fault of the device or its accessories *) ascribable to material or manufacturing defects will be eliminated free of charge by repairing or, at our discretion, by replacing it. The guarantee services do not entail an extension of the life of the guarantee nor do they give rise to any right to a new guarantee!

Proof of the guarantee is provided by the proof of purchase. Without proof of purchase no free replacement or repair will be carried out.

If you wish to make a claim under the guarantee please return the entire machine in the original packaging to your dealer together with the receipt.

*) Damage to accessories does not mean automatic free replacement of the whole machine. In such cases please contact our hotline. Broken glass or breakage of plastic parts are always subject to a charge.

Defects to consumables or parts subject to wearing (e.g. motor pistons, kneading blades, drive shafts, spare remote control, spare toothbrushes, saw blades, etc.) as well as cleaning, maintenance or the replacement of said parts are not covered by the guarantee and hence are to be paid!

The guarantee lapses in case of unauthorized tampering.

After the expiry of the guarantee

After the expiry of the guarantee repairs can be carried by the competent dealer or repair service against the payment of the ensuing costs.
