IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance. Only use the appliance in the way indicated in this instruction manual. Should you hand over the appliance to another user, make sure to hand over the instruction manual together with the appliance. Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance. People (including children) who are not able to use the appliance in a safe way, due to their physical, sensorial or mental capacity or their lack of experience or knowledge, must never use the appliance without supervision or instructions of a responsible person. Close supervision is necessary if children are near the appliance in order to avoid that they use it as a toy. From time to time check the cord for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage but have it checked and repaired by a competent qualified service

Always unplug the appliance from the power supply before cleaning or when the appliance is not in use. All repairs should be made by a competent qualified electrician

Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment. Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance. Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it. Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface. Only use fresh (potable) and cold (moderate) water. Do not use water contained in bathtubs, washbasins or other recipients. Always fill between the minimum and maximum marks. The water must never be below the minimum mark or the heating element might be damaged. When using, make sure the lid is closed correctly. Do not touch the hot parts of the appliance. Always use the handle. In case you have overfilled the appliance, hot water might escape. Be careful not to get burned by the hot steam that evaporates when the water is boiling and especially when you open the lid. Always let the appliance cool down before cleaning or filling it again. Only use your appliance with the appropriate base.

Competent qualified electrician : after sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. In any case you should return the appliance to this electrician.

Before the first use or after descaling, it is necessary to operate the jug kettle with fresh water in order to clean any residue left from the manufacturing process. To do so, turn the temperature knob to its MAX position and press the switch situated near the handle. When the boiling process is over, pour the water. Repeat the process 3 times with fresh water. Then rinse with cold water. USE With this appliance you can boil water or you can heat it up to a certain temperature, for example till 80°C for special teas. Boiling: to boil water, use the switches "0" and "I" on the handle. Turn the temperature knob to the MAX position. Fill the jug with the desired amount of water, making sure that the water level is between the minimum and maximum indication of the level indicator. Press switch "I". The pilot light goes on, indicating that the appliance is operating. After the boiling process, a steam switch automatically switches off the appliance. The pilot light goes out. Caution: a steam switch situated on the handle allows automatic switch-off. Steam can condensate and some water could escape from the handle. Heating: you can set the desired temperature with the temperature knob. In order to reach the desired temperature, it is necessary to pour at least 1 litre of water in the jug. The generally used switch-off temperature is 80°C. Press the switch "1" at the level of the steam switch on the upper part of the handle. The water will heat up and the jug kettle will switch off automatically when the desired temperature is reached. If the water cools down to a temperature lower than the set temperature, the appliance starts heating again. Switch off the appliance after having heated water by pressing the switch "0" on the handle. The pilot light goes out, indicating that the appliance is switched off. Caution: if you do not switch off the appliance, it will keep operating until the water in the jug kettle has completely evaporated. When this happens, the overheat protection will be activated. Hint: let the appliance cool down for 10 minutes before filling it anew. SAFETY CUT-OUT

This jug kettle is protected with an automatic safety device if accidentally switched on without water. Please bear in mind that only the thermostat is switched off in case of overheat, whereas the switch stays in ON-position.

In this case, switch off the appliance by putting the switches in "0" and "MIN" position and wait about 10 minutes for the element to cool. Then pour in sufficient cold water to cover the element.

The kettle may then be used as normal.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before attempting any cleaning operation, make sure the appliance is unplugged from the supply socket and fully cooled down.

To clean the exterior surfaces, simply wipe over with a soft damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Never use abrasive products

Fax [phone] DESCALING When scale becomes visible in the jug, you have to descale it. To remove scale from the jug kettle, use products made especially available for this purpose, liquid descaling products or for the sake of environmental protection you can use vinegar. When descaling, please pay attention to the following points:

• First pour some water in the appliance, and add the descaling product afterwards.

• Make sure to dilute the product sufficiently. Please follow the instruction manual of the descaling product.

• When using vinegar, do not use more than 2-3 ml.

• Caution, the mixture might froth during heating.

• After descaling, rinse the appliance twice with fresh water.

In order to preserve our environment and protect human health, the waste electrical and electronic equipment should be disposed of in accordance with specific rules with the implication of both suppliers and users. For this reason, as indicated by the symbol on the rating label or on the packaging, your appliance should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. The user has the right to bring it free of charge to a municipal collection point performing waste recovery by means of reuse, recycling or use for other applications in accordance with the directive.

For our products, the legal terms concerning claims under guarantee are valid. During the legal period, all material and manufacturing defects are covered. No claims will be accepted for broken accessories, defects resulting from inappropriate use or care, excessive wear due to intensive use, wrong use due to the non-observance of the instruction manual, or normal wear and tear. No guarantee claims will be accepted if the appliance has been modified or if attempts have been made to repair the appliance. In such case, the vendor cannot be held responsible in case of accidents. If you detect a defect, please contact your vendor or shop and return your complete appliance in its original packaging together with the receipt. Claims under guarantee will only be valid if the receipt or a copy of a repair bill is handed over with the appliance that needs repair. In case of a defective accessory, the complete appliance will not be exchanged, but only the accessory will be sent free of charge. In such case, do not return the complete appliance but only order the accessory! In case of glass damages, glass spare parts will be charged. Pieces undergoing wear and tear as well as cleaning and maintenance or the exchange of worn out pieces are not covered by the guarantee and will thus be charged!
