Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.

Important: People (including children) who are not able to use the appliance in a safe way, due to their physical, sensorial or mental capacity or their lack of experience or knowledge, must never use the appliance except if they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or if they previously received instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance.

Close supervision is necessary to prevent children from using the appliance as a toy.

q Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance.

q Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use.

q From time to time check the cord for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage. Should the cord be damaged, it must be replaced by a competent qualified service (1). All repairs should be made by a competent qualified service (2).

q Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.

q Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. Never place it into the dishwasher.

q Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.

q Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the power supply.

q Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.

q Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.

q Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.

q To avoid fire, the right and left side of the appliance must be at a distance of at least 10 cm from walls or other objects and the space above the appliance must be free as well. Make sure there is enough air circulation. Put the appliance on a heat resistant stable surface (not on a varnished table or on a table cloth)

q Make sure the appliance has cooled down before cleaning and storing it.

Should the symbol be indicated on a certain surface, you need to be careful when handling the product. This symbol means CAUTION, this surface may get very hot during use.

q Make sure the hot parts of the appliance never come into contact with inflammable materials, such as curtains, cloth, etc... when it is in use, as a fire might occur. Also make sure not to cover the appliance and do not put anything on top of it. Make sure nothing comes into contact with the heating element of the appliance.

q Always unplug the appliance when it is not in use, especially since it is not equipped with an on/off switch.

q Be extremely cautious as oil and fat preparations might catch fire if overheated.

q When using the appliance under an extractor hood, make sure to observe the minimal distance advised by the producer. It is even wiser to double this distance.

q Immediately unplug the appliance if a crack appears and make sure it is controlled by a qualified competent electrician.
q Your appliance must never be switched on through an external timer or any kind of separate remote control system.

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS

  • A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in, or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use. Please pay attention to the following:
    •The diameter of the extension cord must correspond to the one of the power cord of the appliance, in other words, it must be suitable for at least 16 ampere. Extension cords for a lower amperage could overheat.
    •The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table, top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

BEFORE USE

• Unpack the appliance and accessories, then wash and wipe these accessories.
- It is normal if some smoke or smell emanates from the appliance when using it for the first time. Therefore, we advise you to use your appliance empty once before the first use. If
you want to use the oven, put switch (C) in position and put the turn the temperature knob (D) to the maximum position (250) for about 10 minutes. This way, the invisible protective coating of the heating elements will burned. If you want to use the cooking plates, preheat them during 10 minutes by turning their temperature knob to the maximum position.

Just like with a traditional cooker, the functions of this appliance can be used individually (thus oven only or cooking plates only) but you can also use both functions simultaneously.

USING THE OVEN

Operation

  • When using for the first time, clean the surface of the tray with a damp cloth and wipe dry Then grease the tray with butter, margarine or cooking oil.
  • Plug the unit into the power supply socket.
  • To turn on the oven, turn the function selector switch (C) of the control panel in the position (low heat), (top heat) or (top and bottom heat) - (see picture on page 2). The indicator lamp in the switch will light up.
    •After you have set the switch to the desired position, regulate the temperature of the furnace by means of the thermostat (D) - (see picture on page 2).
  • When the food is ready, put the temperature knob and the switches in "0" position, the pilot light goes out.
  • Carefully open the glass door, preferably using an oven glove.
  • Be very careful when removing the rack or the tray. These parts become very hot during use and you might get burned. Use the supplied, separate handle.
    •Unplug the appliance after use.

USING THE COOKING PLATES

  • Make sure the temperature knobs (A and B) are in the 0 position. Plug in the appliance.
    •Always use flat-bottomed saucepans, which make good contact with the cooking plates. The saucepan bases should ideally be of the same size as the cooking plates.
    •To heat up the cooking plates, turn their temperature knobs (see picture page 2) to the right.
  • Due to the cooking plates' construction, residual heat will remain after switching off. This may be used to keep food warm for a short period.
    •After use, turn temperature knob to "0" and unplug the appliance.

CLEANING AND CARE

Before cleaning, unplug the appliance from outlet and allow it to cool down.

Inside cleaning of the oven

  • Wipe the tray and the rack with absorbent paper towelling or a soft cloth. To remove baked on food pour a little cooking oil on the food and allow to stand for five to ten minutes.
  • This should soften the food and allow it to be removed with absorbent paper towelling or a soft cloth. If the above method fails to remove the food then we suggest wiping the trays with a damp cloth and a little detergent.
  • Never use abrasive products nor steel wool. Never immerse the appliance in water and make sure no water or damp can enter the appliance. Never clean the appliance with a steam cleaner.
    • Make sure no water splashes on the glass door when the latter is still hot.

Outside cleaning of the oven and cooking plates

• Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth.
- Do not use steel wool, scouring pads or abrasive cleaners.
•Always keep the cooking plates dry; dampness can cause rust spots. Some special products are also available for cleaning the cooking plates.

Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.

In order to preserve our environment and protect human health, the waste electrical and electronic equipment should be disposed of in accordance with specific rules with the

implication of both suppliers and users. For this reason, as indicated by the symbol — the rating label or on the packaging, your appliance should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. The user has the right to bring it to a municipal collection point performing waste recovery by means of reuse, recycling or use for other applications in accordance with the directive.

No guarantee claims will be accepted if the appliance has been modified or if attempts have been made to repair the appliance. In such case, the vendor cannot be held responsible in case of accidents.

If you detect a defect, please contact your vendor or shop and return your complete appliance in its original packaging together with the receipt. Claims under guarantee will only be valid if the receipt or a copy of a repair bill is handed over with the appliance that needs repair.

Or send the appliance cleaned, well packed and with a short, easily readable description of the default as well as the receipt freight prepaid to our customer service in our firm in Bad Blankenburg.

In case of a defective accessory, the complete appliance will not be exchanged, but only the accessory will be sent free of charge. In such case, do not return the complete appliance but only order the accessory! In case of glass damages, glass spare parts will be charged. Pieces undergoing wear and tear as well as cleaning and maintenance or the exchange of worn out pieces are not covered by the guarantee and will thus be charged!

Repairs after the guarantee period can be performed at a charge by a competent qualified technician or a repair service.
