Frequently Asked Questions - Ventus 200 Sonnenkönig

How to use the Ventus 200 heater for the first time?
Plug in the device, set the thermostat to MAX and the power button to the desired level (e.g. 2000 W). The device may emit a slight smoke during first use due to protective oil on the heating element; this is normal and disappears after a few minutes.
What are the different power settings?
The left button allows selecting three positions: ventilation only (25 W), 1000 W and 2000 W. The thermostat (right button) allows setting the desired temperature between 5 and 30 °C.
Why does the fan continue to run even when the heating element turns off?
This is normal: the thermostat turns off the heating element when the set temperature is reached, but the fan continues to circulate air. The element restarts when the temperature drops.
What to do in case of overheating or if the device shuts down automatically?
The device has an overheating protection with automatic reset. Unplug the device, wait at least 10 minutes for it to cool down, then plug it back in. If the problem persists, check that the air intakes are not obstructed.
Where to place the Ventus 200 heater?
Place it on a flat and stable surface, indoors only, at least 1 meter away from any combustible object (curtains, furniture, etc.). Do not place it under a power socket and avoid humid environments like bathrooms.
How to clean the device?
Unplug it and let it cool. Clean the casing with a soft sponge dipped in warm water (< 50 °C) with a mild detergent, then dry with a clean cloth. Never use solvents or water inside the device.
Can I use an extension cord with the heater?
Yes, but it should be as short as possible and fully unrolled. Use an extension cord suitable for the power (minimum 10 A). Do not plug any other device into the same outlet.
The device emits an unusual noise, what to do?
Check that the device is placed flat on a stable surface. An abnormal noise may come from an inclined position. If the noise persists, contact a qualified technician.
How long does the warranty last?
The warranty is 24 months from the date of purchase. Keep your proof of purchase (receipt, invoice) for any claim.
How to dispose of the device at the end of its life?
Do not dispose of the device with household waste. Take it to a collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Batteries (if present) must be removed and disposed of in a specific container.

Please read and understand these instructions completely before attempting to assemble, operate or install the product.

This manual contains important information about the installation, operation and maintenance of this patio heater. General safety information is presented on these first pages and is also found throughout this manual. Retain this manual for future reference and to educate new users of this product. This manual should be read in conjunction with the labeling on the product. Safety precautions are essential when dealing with mechanical or propane powered equipment. These precautions are required when using, storing and maintaining this item. Using this equipment with due respect and caution will reduce the possibility of personal injury or property damage.

Inspect the unit for damage after removing the packaging. If damage is suspected, do not operate the device and contact a specialist. The recyclable packaging material must not be kept or disposed of in a way that is accessible to small children, but must be disposed of properly.

This device may only be used for the purpose for which it was expressly designed. Any other use is to be considered improper and consequently dangerous. The supplier is not liable for any personal injury and/or damage to property resulting from improper or incorrect use.

Repairs to electrical equipment may only be carried out by qualified personnel. Improperly performed repairs and modifications to the equipment may result in dangerous consequences for the user, whereupon warranty claims will be rejected.

The following basic precautions should always be followed when handling electrical equipment:

  • To avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.
  • Some parts of this product may become very hot and cause burns. Special care must be taken when children and vulnerable persons are near the heater.
  • The fan heater is not suitable for outdoor use in damp weather, bathrooms or other wet or humid environments.
  • Please note that the fan heater can become very hot. It should therefore be placed at a safe distance from combustible objects such as furniture, curtains and the like.
  • Do not cover the heater.
  • Do not place the heater directly under a power outlet.
  • Do not connect the radiator to an on/off timer or other devices that automatically turn the heating on or off.
  • The radiator must not be stored in rooms where flammable liquids or gases are used.
  • If an extension cord is used, it must be as short as possible and always fully extended.
  • No other appliances may be plugged into the same outlet as the heater.
  • If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service or a similarly qualified person to avoid danger.
  • Place the heater far enough away from curtains and places where the air intake can be blocked.
  • The power coupler is waterproof when not in use. Never use the unit with wet hands when it is not working properly and when water is on the power cord to avoid possible electric shock or power leakage.
  • Do not dispose of electrical equipment as unsorted waste, use separate collection facilities. Contact the local municipality for information on collection systems. When electrical equipment is disposed of in landfills, hazardous substances can enter the groundwater and thus the food chain. Protect your health and well-being.

Children must be supervised so that they do not play with the appliance.
- Depending on the type of power cord, the fan heater can be used only in households, warehouses and workshops, construction sites or greenhouses. The heater contains a thermostat and a self-reset of the heating elements. The thermostat senses the air temperature and controls the ambient temperature. The fan motor is not controlled by the thermostat and it stops working when the thermostat turns off the heating element. The self-reset feature turns the unit off to prevent overheating.
- When the heater is used for the first time, there may be a slight emission of smoke. This is quite normal and will pass after a short time. The heating element is made of stainless steel and has been coated with protective oil during manufacture. The smoke is caused by the residual oil when it is heated.
- The housing is made of sheet steel and has been coated with heat-resistant powder.
- It is supplied complete with cable and plug.
