3 Sit the appliance on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface.
4 Keep the appliance and cable away from the edges of worktops.
5 Don't use accessories or attachments other than those we supply.
6 Don't use the appliance for any purpose other than those described in these instructions.
7 Don't use the appliance if it's damaged or malfunctions.

BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

Fill the reservoir to the max mark, and run the appliance without coffee.

THE CARAFE IS INSULATED

1 This means you can enjoy fresh, hot coffee anywhere in the home or garden.
2 To close the carafe lid, turn it fully clockwise.
3 The indent will be aligned with
4 It should be in this position while the carafe is sitting on the rest, or being carried.
5 To pour, remove the carafe from the rest and turn the lid 90^ to align the indent with the spout.
6 Close the lid after pouring.
7 To remove the lid, turn it 1 full turn from the closed position.

9 To replace the lid, align the indent with , fit the lid to the carafe, then turn it fully clockwise.
10 The indent will be aligned with A.
Rinse the carafe with hot water, to prewarm it, so it doesn't take heat from the coffee.

FILLING

11 Remove the carafe from the rest.
12 Use the grip to open the lid, and expose the reservoir.
13 Fill the reservoir with the exact amount of water required.
14 Open up a #4 paper filter, and put it into the filter holder.

15 Put 1 scoop of filter-ground coffee into the filter for each cup.
16 Close the lid, and press down to lock it.
17 Replace the carafe on the rest.

SWITCH ON

18 Put the plug into the power socket.
19 The appliance will beep. 12:00 will flash on the display.

COFFEE NOW

20 Ignore the clock.

21 Press the button. The button will glow.
22 Shortly afterwards, coffee will start to drip into the carafe.

The coffee grounds will retain water, so the amount of liquid in the carafe will be slightly less than the amount of water in the reservoir.
23 If you want to stop the coffee maker while it's brewing, press the button.

24 When brewing finishes, the appliance will beep 5 times, then shut down.
25 Move the switch to . The light will go off.
26 Unplug, and let the appliance and carafe cool down fully before cleaning, or for about 10 minutes before refilling.

COFFEE LATER

27 The clock will retain its settings until the coffee maker is unplugged.
28 It's a 24 hour clock.
29 Set the clock to the correct time.

• Use the h and min buttons to set the correct hour and minute.

30 Set the timer to the time you want to start brewing.
- Press the button.
- Use the h and min buttons to set the correct hour and minute.

If you don't press either the h or min buttons within 5 seconds, the coffee maker will revert to "normal", and the time will show. You'll have to press the button, and start again.

ACTIVATION

31 Press the AUTO button. AUTO will show on the display.
32 At the time you set, the button will glow, and the coffee maker will start up.
33 To cancel the timer before brewing has started, press the button again.

REMEMBER

34 If you forget what time you've set it to, press and hold the button, then release it.

A QUICK CUP

35 You can remove the carafe at any time. To prevent the filter holder overflowing, replace the carafe on the rest within about 20 seconds.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

36 Unplug the appliance and let it cool.
37 Tip the contents of the filter holder into the bin.
38 Wipe all surfaces with a clean damp cloth.
39 Hand wash the carafe and filter holder.

40 Turn the filter holder to bring the slot in its rim towards the lid, then lower the filter holder back into the coffee maker.

41 Close the lid, and press down to lock it.

You may wash these parts in the top rack of a dishwasher.
42 If you use a dishwasher, the harsh environment inside the dishwasher will affect the surface finishes.
43 The damage should be cosmetic only, and should not affect the operation of the appliance.

Descale regularly, (at least monthly).

44 Descale the appliance at least monthly with a proprietary descaler. Follow the instructions on the package of descaler.

Products returned under guarantee with faults due to scale will be subject to a repair charge.
