INITIAL OPERATION
- For a perfect taste, carry out 2 or 3 boil processes with fresh water (without coffee). These boil processes are absolutely necessary.
- Once all the water has passed through, switch the appliance off and let it cool down during 5 minutes. Then repeat the process with fresh water.
PREPARATION OF COFFEE
- Open the lid of the water tank (6).
- Pour the desired amount of water into the water tank. The number of cups can be read from the glass jug and from the scale on the water tank as they show the levels for normal cups (1 cup = 125 ml) and for small cups. Make sure not to overfill by filling water for maximum 6 cups of coffee.
• Use the supplied permanent filter or insert a paper filter (size 2) in the filter and add the desired quantity of ground coffee (1 teaspoon per cup, approximately 6g).
• Do not forget to close the lid before switching on your coffee maker. - Put the glass jug with closed lid on the hot plate.
- To switch on the machine, put the switch in position "1". The control light of the switch will light up, indicating that the appliance is working. The keep warm function makes it possible to keep the coffee warm for as long as the coffee maker is switched on and the jug is on the hotplate.
- When the brewing process is over, remove the glass jug from the hotplate (a non-drip valve prevents dripping) and pour the desired amount of coffee. Put the jug with the remaining coffee back on the hotplate.
- We advise you, however, to not let the appliance switched on for more than 2 hours. Also, never leave an empty jug on the heated hotplate. The hotplate will be functioning until the switch is put in the off-position – position „0“.
DECALCIFICATION AND CLEANING
• We advise you to descale the coffee maker regularly to prolong its life span. For descaling only use products especially made for descaling of coffee makers and follow their instruction manual. Then rinse the appliance twice with fresh water, without coffee powder (2 brewing cycles). Guarantee claims will not be accepted for appliances that have not been descaled.
- Never use a dishwasher to clean the appliance or its accessories. Just clean the jug in soapsuds.
• To clean the plastic parts of the appliance, use a damp, non abrasive cloth.
PRACTICAL HINTS
When you notice that the coffee making process is longer than it should be, it is probably time to decalcify the appliance. Do not wait until the situation gets worse. The decalcifying
frequency depends on the frequency of use and on the amount of lime in the water and therefore can be different from family to family.
