IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance. Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance. UK STYLE PLUG WIRING INSTRUCTIONS (IN THE UK ONLY) This product must only be used from a 13 amp power socket. If a BS1363 approved 13 amp plug is used, it should be fitted with a 13 amp fuse. The wires on the power cord are colour coded: blue = neutral, brown = live, green or green & yellow = earth. The blue wire must be connected to the terminal marked N or coloured in black. The brown wire must be connected to the terminal marked L or coloured in red. The green (& yellow) wire must be connected to the terminal marked E or coloured in green (& yellow). INITIAL OPERATION For a perfect taste, carry out at least 3 boil-processes with fresh water (without coffee). Wash the glasjug and the filterholder in soapy water and wash the watertank with a soft humid cloth. Fill water in the watertank (without coffee) and switch on the appliance. Once all the water has passed through, switch the appliance off and let it cool down during 10 minutes. Then repeat the process with fresh water (at least 3 times). ELECTRONIC TIMER AND AUTO-OFF SETTING THE CLOCK Connect the plug to an outlet. The time “12:00” will appear on the display of the electronic digital clock. To activate the timer, press the button “H” approx. 3 seconds, “PM 1:00” appears on the display. Release the button “H” and press it again until the desired time is indicated. Proceed in the same way first press the button “H” to program the hours. Then press the button “M” to program the minutes. If you did not push any button for 5 seconds the dots between the hours and minutes will flash. This indicates that the clock is working. If you have not set the right time push 3 seconds on the button “H” and then the button “M”.

PROGRAMMING THE COFFEE-MAKER

Before programming the coffeemaker first fill water in the watertank and coffee in the filter. Push on the “AUTO” button until the “ ” sign starts to flash showing the time “6:00”. Set the required time when you want to the coffeemaker to switch on while pressing the buttons “H” and “M”. If the right time is indicated push again the button “AUTO”. The “ ” sign stops flashing at the left corner and the automatic operation is installed. If you do not push on the button “AUTO” or any other button within 5 seconds the “ ” sign disappears and the coffeemaker is not programmed any more (although the time is saved). In order to activate the automatic operation press shortly the “AUTO” button so that the “ ” sign appears. If you press the “AUTO” button the time shortly appears when the coffeemaker is meant to switch on. In order to cancel the programmed time press the “AUTO” button and the “ ” sign disappears.Copies of the I/B. MANUAL OPERATION Fill the tank with the desired quantity of water. Put the filter in the filterholder and fill it with coffee. Close the lid and press the “ON/OFF” button. The pilot light lights up red to indicate that the coffeemaker is in operation. In order to switch off the coffeemaker press the “ON/OFF” button (the pilot light will turn off). If you remove the glass jug dripping will automatically cease, i.e. no drops will fall onto the warming plate. If you return the jug on the warming plate dripping will resume. To brew new coffee turn off the unit for 10 minutes, clean the jug and the filterholder and restart the process.

AUTOMATIC SWITCH-OFF OF THE WARMING PLATE

Heating can be set for any time from 0 to 4 hours. In order to save the warming time press the “ON/OFF” button. Then press the “H” and “M” button to save the warming time. Attention! The warming time decreases if you push on the “H” and “M”, i.e. the “H” indicate 3, 2, 1, 0, 3, 2, 1, 0, … and the seconds indicate 59, 58, 57, 56, … 3, 2, 1, 0, 59, 58, … If the required warming time is indicated release the “ON/OFF” button so that the time can be saved. Afterwards the present time will again be indicated. You can change the warming time while proceeding again in the same way.

Press the ON/OFF button and then press “5” button. At that moment the coffee maker will operate 4 sec ON, 4 sec OFF. IMPORTANT: If this function has been selected and you wish to switch the unit off, before pressing the ON/OFF button you should first disengage the “1-3” cups function by pressing the “5” button. If the unit is set for 1 to 3 cups of coffee and you do not follow this procedure when switching off, the indicator light may start to flash. In such a case switch the unit back on by pressing the “ON/OFF” button and then follow the procedure as described above in order to switch the unit off.

KEEPING THE COFFEE HOT

The glass jug can remain on the warming plate (although it is empty). The warming plate keeps hot until you turn off the coffeemaker or until the coffeemaker is switched off. DECALCIFICATION Decalcifying the coffee maker prolongs its life span. For decalcification only use products especially made for decalcification of coffee makers. Never use a dishwasher to clean the appliance or its accessories. CLEANING Always make sure that the coffeemaker is unplugged and that the warming plate is cool before cleaning the coffeemaker. Clean the filterholder and the water jug in soapy water. Clean the appliance itself with a damp cloth. Never use plastic pads or abrasive products to clean the appliance.Copies of the I/B.
