Frequently Asked Questions - KA 2886 CLATRONIC

How to set up the Clatronic KA 2886 coffee machine for the first time?
Remove all packaging materials, clean the parts with a damp cloth, then run 2-3 cycles with cold water to rinse the appliance before making your first coffee.
What amount of water and ground coffee to use?
Fill the water tank with cold water according to the desired number of cups (see water level indicator). Use about 1 teaspoon of ground coffee per 2 cups.
How does the anti-drip system work?
If you remove the carafe before brewing is complete, the anti-drip system prevents coffee from dripping onto the hotplate. Make sure the carafe handle is turned to the right or left of center for proper operation.
What to do if the coffee brewing time becomes longer?
This indicates a need for descaling. Use a descaling product based on citric acid following the dosage on the packaging to remove limescale.
How to clean the coffee machine?
Always unplug the appliance and wait for it to cool down. Clean the exterior with a slightly damp cloth. Wash the glass carafe and filter holder in soapy water. Do not use abrasive detergents.
Can I use a permanent filter instead of paper filters?
The manual recommends using paper filters size 1x4 (size 4). A compatible permanent filter can be used, but make sure it fits properly in the filter holder.
How to adjust the coffee aroma?
Use the aroma selector on the appliance to choose between 'mild coffee' and 'strong coffee'. Turn the selector according to your preferences.
What to do if the machine does not turn on?
Check that the power cord is properly connected to a functional power outlet (230 V, 50 Hz). Make sure the appliance is in the off position before plugging in. If the problem persists, contact a qualified technician.
What is the warranty period and how to use it?
The warranty is 24 months from the purchase date. Keep the receipt. In case of defect, return the complete appliance in its original packaging with proof of purchase to your dealer. Damage to glass or plastic accessories is your responsibility.
Can I repair the machine myself?
No, do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. Contact a qualified technician. For replacement of a defective cord, have it done by the manufacturer or an authorized service center.
