What is the maximum power of the GZPA 1.10000SPLHC amplifier?

The amplifier does not turn on, what should I do?

Check that the 12 V power cable is properly connected, that the Remote signal is present (12 V), and that the ground is correct. If the protection LED is off, the problem may be from the external fuse.

The protection LED lights up when the amplifier is powered on, what does that mean?

A protection LED on indicates a short circuit or too low impedance on the speakers. Disconnect the speaker wires; if the LED goes off, the fault is from the speakers or wiring.

A fuse blows regularly, how to solve this?

Check that the speaker impedance is correct (≥ 2 Ω in link mode, ≥ 1 Ω in single mode) and that there is no short circuit on the power or speaker cables.

The amplifier heats up abnormally, is this normal?

Overheating can be due to too low impedance, a short circuit, or lack of ventilation. Make sure the amplifier is installed in a well-ventilated area and that the speakers are properly connected.

The sound is too weak or distorted, what to check?

Check the input level (Input Level), the car radio volume, and the filter settings. Make sure the speakers are not short-circuited and that the frequencies are correctly adjusted.

How to adjust the input sensitivity (Input Level)?

Turn the Input Level potentiometer fully to the left (MIN). Set the car radio volume to 2/3 of maximum, then increase the input level until you get a pleasant sound without distortion.

I hear engine noise or hissing in the speakers, what to do?

Disconnect the RCA cables from the amplifier; if the noise disappears, the problem is from the cables or the car radio. Also check the ground of the amplifier and sources.

Can I use two GZPA 1.10000SPLHC amplifiers together?

Yes, thanks to Link Mode, you can connect two amplifiers (master/slave) to double the power. The total impedance must be at least 2 Ω.

What cables are recommended for installation?

Use a power cable of 50 mm² (minimum 2 x 50 mm² for this model), a ground cable of 50 mm², and a speaker cable of 6 mm². External fuses must be placed less than 20 cm from the battery.

Due to the different filters and circuits a very high power output is achieved, therefore these amplifiers are made

Caution!

• As a precaution it is advisable to disconnect the vehicle's battery before making connection to the +12 volts supply wiring (see owner's manual of your car for further information).
• Please use great caution drilling your trunk, your gas tank and brake lines can be damaged by puncturing with your drill bit - this could cause damage or failure of your cars operating systems.
  Take care of square edges, the cable could be rub through.

WARNING

High powered audio systems in a vehicle are capable of generating "Live Concert" high level of sound pressure. Continued exposure to excessively high volume sound levels may cause hearing loss or damage. Also, operation of a motor vehicle while listening to audio equipment at high volume levels may impair your ability to hear external sound such as; horns, warning signals, or emergency vehicles, thus constituting to a potential traffic hazard. For safety reasons we recommends listening at lower volume levels while driving.

Planning your system

Before installation, consider the following notes:

a) Select a suitable location that is convenient for mounting, is accessible for writing and has enough room for air circulation and cooling.
b) If your radio is equipped with presamplifier outputs (RCA), it is advisable to use them.
c) Please consider the enormous power consumption (up to 1500A) of this amp when designing the setup. We strongly recommend to install an additional battery. Too little power from the battery / alternator may cause defects on your amplifier and your car.

Mounting your amplifier

• Select a suitable location that is convenient for mounting, is accessible for wiring and has ample room for air circulation and cooling.
• Use the amplifier as a template to mark the mounting holes, remote the amplifier and drill 6 holes (use extreme caution, inspect underneath surface before drilling!). Secure the amplifier with the mounting screws.

Using a dual amplifier configuration, the MASTER amplifier has total control over the SLAVE amplifier. When using dual amplifier to operate subwoofer, the positive terminal of the subwoofer's voice coil must be connected to the master amplifier and the negative terminal of the subwoofer's voice coil must be connected to positive terminal of the SLAVE Amplifier. He advised that the dual amplifier configuration has tremendous output potential, so ensure that your subwoofer can handle such a large amount of power.

Caution

When utilizing the dual amplifier configuration it is important to note that the connected speaker load can be no lower than 2 ohms. Connecting a lower impedance load can damage the amplifier and void your warranty.

+12 Volt (Fused) Constant power: To Battery (+)

Use a strong power cable (50mm^2) for connection the +12V terminals of the amplifier to the + terminal of your battery.

It is necessary to install 2 (GZPA 1.10000SL-HC) or 4 (GZPA 2.20000SL-HC) In-line fuse holders with a maximum distance of 20cm to your battery to ensure a safe operation of the amplifier. Make sure the fuses are not connected when connecting the + cable to the battery - this could cause defects on the device or injuries.

Ground

• Disconnect the battery and connect the ground terminals to the vehicle chassis. Is absolute necessary, that the same wire-cross section is used for the ground and +12V connection. Use a ground wire that is as short as possible (about 25cm / 10^ ). To avoid ignition noise caused by ground loops, it is necessary that the amplifier be grounded to a clean, bare metal surface of the vehicles chassis.

Remote

Connect the Remote terminal with the remote output of your head unit or another 12 V source like your antenna terminal.

Turning on your amplifier

The amplifier automatically turns on a few seconds after you turn your vehicle's ignitions switch to ACC ON or turn on your auto sound system, depending on how you wired the system.

Note: Your amplifier temporarily shuts down if it gets too hot, then restarts automatically once it colds down. The input level must be adjusted correctly to provide a good performance of the amplifier (20Drw - 10V).

Adjusting the audio level / Input sensitivity

Step 1 Turn the input level controller fully to MIN in counterclockwise direction.

Step 2 Turn the auto sound system's volume control to about two-thirds of its full range.

Step 3 Adjust the auto sound system's volume control to a comfortable listening level.

Please note - The gage on a CD that reproduces music with a higher dynamic is essential higher as on Radio reception.

Trouble shooting

This power amplifier has protection features to prevent any damages from misuse or faulty conditions. If the unit senses excessive heat, short circuited speakers or overload, the protection indicators will light, and the system will be turned off. In order to check the occurred problem, you should turn all levels down and all power off and carefully check the installation for wiring mistakes or short. If the amplifier shuts down due to excessive heat, the protection indicators will not light: simply allow time for the unit to cool. Before removing your amplifier, refer to the list below and follow the suggested procedures. Always test the speakers and their wires first.
