Safety guidelines

DANGER – ELECTRIC SHOCK!
The appliance must only be connected to a correctly installed and earthed mains power socket. Ensure that the rating for your local power supply corresponds with the details on the rating plate of the appliance.
▶ Ensure that the power cable does not become wet or moist during use. Route the cable in such a way that it cannot be crushed or damaged.
- Keep the power cable well away from sources of heat. Do not lead it in front of the microwave oven door. The heat could damage the cable.
Remove the plug from the mains power socket when the appliance is being cleaned or in the event of a fault. It is not sufficient to switch off the appliance, since mains voltage is present for as long as the plug is connected to the mains power socket.
▶ Always remove the plug from the mains power socket when the appliance is not in use.
To prevent accidents, have defective plugs and/or power cables replaced immediately by a qualified specialist technician or our Customer Service Department.
The appliance and its connecting cable must be kept away from children.
▶ Never submerge the appliance, the power cable or the plug in water or other liquids.
▶ Never pour liquids into the ventilation openings or the safety door locking mechanisms. If liquids enter these cavities, immediately switch the microwave oven off and remove the plug from the mains power socket. Arrange for the appliance to be checked by qualified specialists.

Never submerge the appliance in water or other liquids.
⚠ WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
▶ If the door or the door seal is damaged, under no circumstances may you continue to use the appliance. Arrange for it to be repaired as soon as possible by qualified specialists.
▶ Never attempt to repair the appliance yourself. Removal of the appliance housing could cause the release of microwave energy. All repairs must be carried out by qualified specialists.
This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years or more and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised, or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and have understood the potential risks.
▶ Children must not use the appliance as a plaything.
- Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are aged 8 or over and are supervised.
▶ Children younger than 8 years of age must be kept away from the appliance and the power cable.

▶ Always shake or stir jars of baby food or bottles after warming! The contents could have heated up unevenly and the baby could be burned/scalded by them. Always check the temperature thereof before feeding the baby!
▶ Do not modify the microwave oven.
Before consumption, check the temperature in order to avoid potentially life-threatening burns to babies. Cooking utensils may become hot from the heat emitted by the food - you may therefore need oven gloves to touch them. In this case, a check should also be made to ensure that the cooking utensils are suitable for use with the microwave oven.
⚠ WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
- When heating drinks in the microwave, bubbling may be delayed when the drink boils. You should therefore take care when handling the container. To avoid sudden boiling and the risk of injury:
- If possible, place a glass rod in the liquid for as long as it is being heated.
- After heating a liquid allow it to stand in the microwave oven for approx. 20 seconds to prevent it from boiling over unexpectedly.
▶ Proceed with caution when warming up liquids. Use only open containers, so that any air bubbles produced can escape.
▶ Eggs in their shells and hard-boiled eggs should not be heated in the micro wave oven, because they can explode, even after the heating process is completed.
Always prick food with thick skins, such as potatoes, sausages, whole pumpkins, apples and chestnuts before cooking.
⚠ WARNING! RISK OF FIRE!

Earthing information/ correct installation
This appliance must be earthed. This appliance must only be connected to a correctly earthed power socket. A separate circuit that is devoted to connecting the microwave is recommended.

▶ Improper use of the earthing connector could increase the risk of electric shock.
NOTE
▶ If you have any questions about earthing or the instructions concerning the use of this electrical appliance, please consult an electrician or a maintenance technician.
■ Neither the manufacturer nor the dealer can accept liability for damage to the microwave oven or injury to persons resulting from failure to comply with the instructions for electrical connection.
Interference with other appliances
The operation of the microwave may cause interference on your radio, television or similar appliances.

■ Clean the door and the sealing surfaces of the microwave oven.
■ Realign the radio or television antenna.
- Put the microwave in a different location than the receiver.
■ Move the microwave away from the receiver.
- Plug the microwave into another wall socket. The microwave and the receiver should be connected to different power circuits.
Before starting
Basic principles of microwave cookery
■ Think carefully about how to arrange the food
■ The thickest parts should be at the edges.
■ Pay attention to the cooking time. Select the shortest possible specified cooking time and increase as required. Food that is cooked for too long can begin to smoke or catch fire.
■ Cover the food with a lid that is suitable for microwave cookery during cooking. The lid prevents splashing and helps to cook the food evenly.
■ While cooking, turn the food in the microwave once so that items such as chicken or hamburgers cook more quickly.
■ Turn large food items such as joints of meat at least once.
■ Completely re-arrange foods such as meatballs after half of the cooking time. Turn them and move the meatballs from the middle of the cookware to the edge.
Suitable cookware
■ The ideal material for a microwave oven is microwave-permeable, allowing the energy to pass through the container to heat the food. Microwaves cannot pass through metal. For this reason metal containers and cookware should not be used.
- Do not use products made from recycled paper when using the microwave for heating. These may contain minute fragments of metal, which can generate sparks and/or fi res.
■ We recommend the use of round/oval cookware rather than square or oblong containers, since food in corner areas tends to overcook.
■ The following list can be used as a general aid in helping you to select the proper cookware.
| Cookware | Suitable for microwave |
| Heat-resistant glass Yes | |
| Non-heat-resistant glass No | |
| Heat-resistant ceramics Yes | |
| Microwave-compatible plastic cookware | Yes |
| Kitchen roll Yes | |
| Metal trays/plates No | |
| Aluminium foil No | |
| Foil containers No |

WARNING! RISK OF FIRE!
▶ Never use metallic objects in the microwave oven. Metals reflect the microwave radiation and it leads to the generation of sparks. This could cause a fire and irreparably damage the appliance!
First use
Installation of the appliance

- Maintain minimum clearance of 10 cm from adjacent walls/surfaces. Ensure that the door of the microwave oven can be opened easily.
- Keep a gap of at least 20 cm free above the microwave.
