Prevention of accidents at home

Accessible surface temperatures can be high when the appliance is operating (P) (Q).
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by an adult responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Never leave the appliance unsupervised.
- If an accident occurs, rinse the burn immediately with cold water and call a doctor if necessary.
Never leave the appliance unattended when in use.
NB: Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals with particularly sensitive respiratory systems, such as birds and small mammals. We advise owners to keep them away from the cooking area.

Utilisation
To avoid overheating of the appliance, we recommend you do not place it in a corner or against a wall.
- Before first use, remove any packaging, stickers or accessories inside and outside the appliance.
- Place on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
- This appliance is suitable for outdoor use.
Do not place the appliance directly on anything fragile ("Bulgomme" type tablecloth, glass table top, varnished surface, etc.).
- Check that your electric supply is compatible with the power and the voltage indicated under the appliance.
- WARNING: Charcoal or similar combustible fuels must not be used with this appliance.
- The appliance should be supplied through a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA.
- The appliance is to be connected to a socket-outlet having an earth connection (for class I appliances).
- The power supply cord should be regularly examined for signs of damage and the appliance is not to be used if the cord is damaged.
If the appliance is used in the centre of the table, keep it out of the reach of children.
- If an extension cord is used:
- it must be with an incorporated earth connection;
- take every precaution to ensure that people cannot become caught up in it.
- If the cord of the appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cable or unit available from the manufacturer or its after-sales service.
This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
| Do not cook food in aluminium foil. | Pour 1,5 litre maximum of water carefully into the reflector (3) so that the appliance works (B).Monitor the water level regularly. If more is needed, unplug the product, let it cool, then add water. |
| Don’t move your appliance when cooking. | If the heating element (4) is incorrectly positioned (C), the safety system will prevent the appliance from working.Fit the removable plate (5) onto the reflector (3) and ensure that it is stable and fitted correctly (D). |
| Do not place cooking utensils on the cooking surfaces of the appliance. | Only use the plate (5) supplied with the appliance or purchased from an approved service centre.Unwind the cord completely (E).Plug the cord into a mains socket (E).Set the thermostat to suit the chosen recipe (G). The position of the thermostat during pre-heating is the same as that used for cooking.Pre-heat the appliance for about 15 minutes (G).Always use a wooden or plastic spatula to avoid damaging the cooking plate (5). |
| Do not use aluminium foil or other objects under the plate. | To avoid damaging the dish (5): Only use it on the support for which it was designed (e.g.: do not use it in an oven, on a gas or electric hob, etc.). |
| Never start cooking without preheating 15 min. | |
| Never run the appliance empty. | CAUTION: the support grids (2) are hot. Do not use them to carry the appliance (J).Always use the serving dish (6) in its position on the support grids (2). |
| On first use, the appliance may smell slightly and possibly give off smoke for the first few minutes. This is normal and will quickly disappear. | Never use your dish (6) on a baking sheet or in an oven.Never use the serving dish (6) without the baking sheet (5) in position.Never restart the appliance without having changed the water in the reflector. |
Using the lid
- Position “cook” (K): when positioned this way, the lid (6) allows “steam cooking”. The food cooks more quickly, more tender and more varied (pieces of chicken and meat, vegetables, fish).
Use the thermostat 1 to 6 (F). - Position “screen” (L): position which means that your hands are free when supervising the cooking.
- Position “serve” (M): the lid (6) is turned over to become a table service dish.
- “Keep warm” position (N): the lid (6) can then be placed on the barbecue to keep the food hot.
Use the thermostat from 3 to 6,; according to need (F).
Cleaning
Do not use a metal scourer or scouring powder.
Never run the hot plate (5) under cold water.
- Set the thermostat on position mini (O), turn the appliance off (O) and leave it to cool down (P) (Q).
Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
Do not immerse the appliance in water.
Do not immerse the appliance, the control panel or power cord in water.
- If the heating element is really dirty, rub with a dry cloth when cold (R).
- The plate (5), the reflector (3) and the plate (6) must be cleaned after each use, either in the dishwasher (S) or with washing-up liquid (do not use a scouring pad or powder or metallic sponge) (T).
Storage
Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
- Store the appliance away from sunlight, humidity and rain.
- Store the appliance indoor, in a dry place (V).
