How to play an MP3 CD on the CDR4230MP?
Set the function selector to CD/MP3, open the CD compartment, insert the disc with the label facing up, close the lid and press Play/Pause. The device automatically reads MP3 files. Use the FOLD +/+10 or FOLD -/-10 buttons to navigate between folders.
How to program the playback order of tracks?
In stop mode, press PROGRAM to enter programming mode. Use the Skip forward/backward buttons to select a track, then press PROGRAM again to memorize it. Repeat up to 20 tracks for CD or 99 for MP3. Finally, press Play/Pause to start programmed playback.
How does the anti-shock function work?
The anti-shock function allows uninterrupted playback in case of momentary vibrations. In CD mode, it protects against up to 5 seconds of shock; in MP3 mode, up to 50 seconds. Playback automatically resumes when the device stabilizes. It does not correct disc defects.
How to set the FM radio?
Set the function selector to MW or FM RADIO. Select the desired band with the band selector (FM/MW). Turn the tuning knob to find a station. If the FM signal is stereo, the FM STEREO indicator lights up. Extend the telescopic antenna to improve reception.
What to do if the CD does not play or stops?
Check that the disc is correctly inserted (label facing up) and that the surface is not scratched or dirty. Clean the disc with a soft cloth from the center outward. Make sure the format is compatible (audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW or MP3). If the problem persists, the disc may be damaged or of poor quality.
How to use the device on batteries?
Unplug the mains cord. Open the battery compartment at the back and insert 6 UM-2 (type C) batteries, respecting the indicated polarities. If the device remains unused for more than a month, remove the batteries to avoid leakage.
How to clean compact discs?
Use a soft, dry cloth. Wipe the surface from the center outward. Never use solvents, sprays or thinners. Store discs in their cases after use.
How to repeat a track or the entire disc?
During playback, press PROGRAM/P-MODE once to repeat the current track (display shows REPEAT). Press twice to repeat the entire disc. Press again to cancel repeat.
What does the 'OP' display mean?
The OP display appears if the CD compartment is open during playback. Close the lid to resume normal playback.
What to do in case of malfunction?
Unplug the device from the mains and remove batteries if used. Check connections and disc cleanliness. If the problem persists, do not open the device (laser risk). Contact a qualified technician.

  • Fingerprints and dust should be carefully wiped off the disc's recorded surface with a soft cloth. Unlike conventional records, compact discs have no grooves to collect dust and microscopic debris so gently wiping with a soft cloth should remove most particles. Wipe in a straight line from the inside to the outside of the disc. Small dust particles and light stains will have absolutely no effect on reproduction quality.
  • Never use chemicals such as record sprays, antistatic sprays, benzine, or thinners to clean compact discs. These chemicals can irreparably damage the disc's surface.
  • Discs should be returned to their cases after use. This avoids serious scratches that could cause the Laser pickup to skip.
