Frequently Asked Questions - SalonDry Compact HP4962 PHILIPS

How to use the cool shot function on the Philips SalonDry Compact HP4962?
After drying, simply press the cool air button (mark E) for a final cold blast. This seals the hair cuticle and adds shine.
The hair dryer stops automatically during use, what should I do?
This is normal: the overheat protection has activated. Unplug the device, let it cool down for a few minutes, then check that the air inlets are not blocked by hair or dust before restarting.
Can I use the Philips SalonDry Compact HP4962 in the bathroom?
Yes, but with caution: do not use it near a bathtub, washbasin, or sink. Unplug after use because even when switched off, proximity to water can pose a risk. A socket protected by a 30 mA residual current device is recommended.
How to clean the Philips HP4962 hair dryer?
Always unplug the device. Clean the body with a dry cloth. For the concentrator, use a damp cloth or rinse it with water. Make sure it is dry before reusing or storing. Never immerse the device in water.
What is the difference between the two speed settings?
The 'II' position is a strong airflow for fast drying. The 'I' position provides a gentle airflow, ideal for shaping and styling.
The power cord is damaged, can I replace it myself?
No, if the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Philips, a Philips Service Center, or a qualified technician to avoid any hazard.
How to store the hair dryer after use?
Make sure it is switched off, unplugged, and cooled down. Place it in a safe location. Do not wrap the cord around the device to avoid damage.
Can I use accessories from other brands with this model?
It is recommended to only use Philips accessories or those specifically recommended by Philips. Using other accessories may void the warranty and pose risks.
The hair dryer does not work at all, what should I check?
First check that the socket is powered. Then ensure the device voltage matches your mains supply. If the cord is damaged or the device overheated, follow the troubleshooting tips in the manual or contact an authorized service center.
How to use the supplied concentrator?
Attach the concentrator to the front of the hair dryer (fig. 6). It directs the airflow to the brush or comb for precise styling. To remove it, simply pull it off.
