Instructions for use

Only use an extension cord in per- fect condition.

Only use the kettle with the correspon- ding base.

Do not pull out the plug by the cord or touch it with wet hands.

If the following happens, do not use the kettle and unplug it imme- diately: - the kettle or cord is damaged - the appliance leaks - any defect after the appliance has accidently dropped or something similar is suspected. In these cases have the appliance repaired.

Do not place the kettle onto hot surfaces, e. g. hot plate etc. or near gas flames, it may melt.

Do not place the appliance close to wet surfaces, as water could damage it.

The device must not be used under sensitive furniture since vapours are emitted when it becomes warm which may damage such furniture.

Do not operate the appliance un- attended.

Do not use the appliance without water.

Remove it from the base before filling.

Only fill the kettle with water, not with milk or coffee etc.

It is important not to overfill the kettle, or to use it with open lid, as the boiling water may splash.

During use do not move the appliance and do not pull at the cord.

Caution: The appliance will become hot during use. Scalding danger due to escaping steam! Only touch the hot kettle by the handle and do not open the lid when pouring out.

Always pour out the whole con- tents of the kettle. Do not leave any residue of water in the appliance, as this can cause scaling.

Keep out of reach from children.

This appliance is not meant to be used by persons (including child- ren) with reduced physical, senso- rial or mental capacities or in ab- sence of the necessary experience and/or knowledge - unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety and from whom they get instructions on how to use the appliance.

Disconnect the appliance in these situations: - any malfunction during operation - prior to cleaning and maintenance - after use.

Do not immerse the kettle or base in water.

In the case of misuse, wrong hand- ling or incorrect repair no liability will be taken for possible damages. Claims under guarantee are also excluded in such cases.

Connect the appliance only to a shockproof socket that has been installed according to regulations. The supply line and power plug must be dry.

In case the kettle is filled with little water, the time until the automa- tic boilstop works will be prolonged. If you want to boil hot water again the appliance can be switched on again. If only warm water is desired the heating process can be interrupted at any time. The dis- connection takes place automatically also if the pot is lifted by the base. Safety system In case of unintentional use without water a thermostat protects the kettle from overheating by interrupting the heating process. The button will be put automatically to position -0-. Before refilling with water, wait another 5-10 minutes until the appliance has cooled down. If through improper usage this thermostat should fail an additional temperature security device will be activated. Cleaning and maintenance Pull the plug and cool the appliance. express and let the appliance stand until the calcium coating is removed from the bottom. Then fill the appli- ance with cold water past the calci- um edge and let stand for 15 minu- tes. Then pour it out and thoroughly rinse with cold water. Do not heat the solution during decalcification. Caution, warranty compensation does not exist for damages that occur due to non-compliance.
