How to use the Carmen DC1080 hot air brush?

Wash and dry your hair. Attach the round brush (ø30 or 38 mm) to the appliance by aligning the marks. Place a section of hair on the brush, slide it from roots to ends, then roll it up. Turn on the appliance to the desired setting (I or II), let the hot air work, then use the COOL button to set the curl. Press the unlock button to remove the brush. Turn off the appliance.

How to activate the ion generator?

Push the ion switch (ION position) on the top of the appliance. The green indicator light turns on. To deactivate, push it back down. Ions reduce static electricity and add more shine.

What to do if the appliance suddenly stops?

The appliance is equipped with overheat protection. If the air openings are blocked, the appliance turns off automatically. Set the switch to '0', wait 5 minutes before turning it back on. Make sure the intake and outlet grilles are not covered.

Can I use the appliance in the bathroom?

Never use the appliance near a bathtub, shower, or sink filled with water. Even when off, it can be dangerous. Unplug after use. Use only in a dry area.

How to clean the Carmen DC1080 hot air brush?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. Wipe the body and brushes with a slightly damp cloth, then dry with a soft cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water and do not use abrasive products.

What is the function of the COOL button?

The COOL button allows you to cool the air during use. Press and hold to send cold air, ideal for setting curls. It is lockable if you hold the pressure (depending on model). The power positions change: in position I + COOL = 250 W, in position II + COOL = 500 W.

How to change the round brush?

Turn off and unplug the appliance. Press the 'push' button and rotate the adapter until it stops, then remove the brush. To install a new brush, align the marks, push in, and rotate until it locks.

What safety precautions should be followed?

Do not use near water, do not touch the hot parts of the brush, do not pull on the cord, unplug after use, do not use if the cord is damaged, keep out of reach of children under 8 years old without supervision.

How long is the warranty?

The warranty is 2 years from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing defects and material defects. It does not cover normal wear, accidental damage, or non-compliant use. Keep the receipt.

Can I use the appliance without a brush?

Yes, you can use the appliance as a regular hairdryer. Remove the brush by pressing the 'push' button and rotating. Hot air will come out directly. Be careful not to place the air outlet too close to eyes or scalp.

• If the connecting cable is damaged, it should only be replaced by a service agent recommended by the manufacturer in order to prevent any danger! Please contact the manufacturer or his customer service.
• The voltage of the power source must be the same as specified on the rating plate (V)!
• Before use check that the appliance functions properly! The appliance should not be used if:
• the connecting cable is damaged
• the appliance shows noticeable damage.
• the appliance has been dropped

• To avoid damage or danger by improper use, the operating instructions should be carefully kept and followed!
- If you give the appliance to another person then you should also supply them with the operating instructions!

The round brush, especially the tip, can become very hot during operation and lead to possible burns.

Never grasp at the round brush, especially not at the tip, when the appliance is on. Avoid any contact to skin and eyes. Never transport the round brush when it is hot!

CAUTION!

Please observe the following safety instructions to avoid damages and risks attributable to improper use:

• Never put the appliance on soft cushions or blankets during operation!
  • To avoid damaging of the hair the air outlet should not be too close to the hair!

• Do not cover the air intake or air outlet during use!

• Do not hold the air outlet opening too close to your eyes or skin.
  • Make sure that you switch off the appliance when not in continuous use!
• Do not place the appliance or the connecting cable on hot surfaces e.g. cooker or similar or in the vicinity of open flames!
• The appliance is fitted with an overload protection which switches off in the case of an overload (e.g. air outlet or intake is blocked). If the appliance switches off during use, please reset the graduated switch to "0" and wait for approx. 5 minutes. Then, switch on again!
• The installation of a faulty current protective device with a rated breaking current offers you additional safety by ensuring that 30 mA will not be exceeded in the house installation. Let your installation electrician advise you!
• Remove the plug from the mains:
• if the unit does not function properly.

Preparing the hair

• Wash your hair and dry it well.
• Comb your hair thoroughly. Do not use hairspray or other flammable chemical hair care products.

Drying hair

Your appliance may also be used without attachments as a normal hair dryer.

- For this, press the key "push" and turn the top until the stop. Pull the attachment from the appliance (see figs. 1/2).

To re-insert the round brush proceed in reversed sequence (see fig. 3). Turn the top until the stop and ensure that the markings are aligned.

Round brushing

WARNING!

Danger of burns from hot appliance components!

Never grasp at the round brush, especially not at the tip, when the appliance is on.

Brush f 30 mm ∅ or g 38 mm ∅ must be fitted for round brushing.

- Place the hair strands over the brush and thoroughly brush from the roots to the tips before rolling. Then beginning with the hair tips roll until a curl is formed. Turn the appliance on (position "or") and allow the warm air to take effect until the hair is dry (see fig. 4). For fixation, press the function switch a "COOL" and let the cold air take effect. Now press the button for automatic curl release and pull the round brush out from the curl (see fig. 5). Switch the appliance off.

Note!

Please pay attention that the hair strands are not too thick.

2-step sliding switch

With the 2-step sliding switch b you can switch the appliance on and select the desired position.

0 = Appliance is switched off
I = low air volume, 500 watt power
I + COOL = low air volume + cool position, 250 wall power
2 = large air volume 1000 watt power
2 + COOL = large air volume + cool position, 500 watt power

COOL SHOT push button

With the COOL SHOT push button a you can lower the air temperature while the appliance is switched on.

COOL = Cool position

By pressing the COOL button to cool down the hair, the air temperature is lowered as long as the COOL button is depressed, irrelevant of the setting of the main switch (for cooling curls respectively a styled section of hair). The COOL SHOT push button a can be locked.

Ion-generator

FIG. 6 (see fig. 1)

Your appliance is fitted with an ion generator. Activating this function will give your hair enhanced shine while styling. The ion generator also prevents the build-up of static charge on your hair.

To activate the function, turn the ion on/off switch c to position "ION" (see fig. 6). The ion indicator light should light up. The ion indicator lamp lights green.

The ion generator is now permanently activated. To deactivate the ion generator, push the ion on/off switch c downwards.
