How to access the repeater configuration page?

Open an internet browser and enter http://tplinkrepeater.net or http://192.168.0.254 in the address bar. Make sure your computer is connected to the repeater's Wi-Fi network or via an Ethernet cable.

What to do if I cannot access the configuration page?

Check that your computer is connected to the repeater (via Wi-Fi or Ethernet) and that it obtains an IP address automatically. Try using the default IP address 192.168.0.254. If the repeater is already connected to the router, check the router's DHCP client list to find the IP assigned to the repeater. As a last resort, reset the repeater.

How to reset the repeater?

Press and hold the RESET button on the repeater for about 10 seconds until all LEDs briefly turn off, then release. All settings will return to factory defaults.

What Wi-Fi password to use after configuration?

The Wi-Fi password of the repeater is the same as that of your source network (router). You set it during initial configuration.

Can I connect wired devices to the repeater?

Yes, if your repeater has an Ethernet port, you can connect a device such as a Blu-ray player, game console, or TV via an Ethernet cable. The repeater then acts as a Wi-Fi client for these devices.

Where to place the repeater for better coverage?

Plug the repeater halfway between your router and the area to cover. Avoid metal obstacles or thick walls for optimal signal.

What to do if the repeater LED does not light up?

Check that the repeater is properly plugged into a working power outlet and that the power switch (if any) is turned on.

Is the repeater compatible with all routers?

The repeater is compatible with most standard WiFi routers using 802.11 b/g/n standards. It operates on 2.4 GHz.

How to update the repeater firmware?

Log in to the configuration interface via a browser, go to System Tools then Firmware Upgrade. Download the latest firmware from the TP-LINK website and follow the instructions.

Is it normal for the repeater to get hot?

It is normal for the repeater to heat up slightly during operation. Ensure it is placed in a well-ventilated area and not obstructed. In case of excessive overheating, unplug it and contact technical support.

1 Einschalten

Plug the extender into an electrical outlet near your router and press the power button if it has one.

2 Connect your computer to the extender

..via Wireless

Disconnect your Ethernet connection from your computer and connect to the extender's network (e.g. TP-Link_Extender or TP-Link_Extender_XXX).

via Ethernet Cable (If the extender has an Ethernet port)

Disable the Wi-Fi on your computer. Connect your computer to the extender via an Ethernet cable.

3 Configure

1 Launch a web browser and enter http://tplinkrepeater.net or http://192.168.0.254 in the address field. Create a password for future login attempts, and click Start.

2 Follow the instructions on the web page to complete the initial configuration.

4 Relocate

To achieve better signal quality, plug in the extender halfway between your router and the

Wi-Fi dead zone.

Enjoy!

Connect your device to the extender using the extended SSID and Wi-Fi password that you've set during the configuration. The default Wi-Fi password is the same as your host network.

Entertainment Adapter

If your extender has an Ethernet port, it can be used as a wireless adapter to connect any Ethernet-only device such as a Blu-ray player, game console, DVR, or smart TV to your Wi-Fi network.

First, connect the extender to your router, then connect your Ethernet-only device to the extender via an Ethernet cable.

Q1 Why can't I see the login page after entering http://tplinkrepeater.net in the browser?

A1: Make sure your computer is connected to the extender either via the extended SSID or via an Ethernet cable (if the extender has an Ethernet port).
A2: Make sure your computer is set to obtain an IP address automatically.
A3: Use the IP address to access the extender. The default IP is 192.168.0.254. If the extender is connected to the router, you should go to your router's DHCP client list to obtain the extender's current IP address.
A4: Reset the extender and connect to its wireless network, enter http://tplinkrepeater.net or http://192.168.0.254 in a web browser and press Enter.

Q2 How do I reset the extender?

A: With the extender powered on, press the RESET button until the LEDs turn on momentarily, then release the button.
