What does the error code E3 mean on the HISENSE EDH23MOBV microwave and how can it be resolved?
Frequently Asked Questions - 02/02/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The error code E3 displayed on the HISENSE EDH23MOBV microwave generally indicates a temperature-related issue, often caused by a faulty temperature sensor or overheating of the device.

Possible causes of the E3 code:

  • Failure of the internal temperature sensor.
  • Blockage or obstruction of the ventilation grills causing overheating.
  • Installation in a poorly ventilated environment or exposed to extreme temperatures.

Steps to attempt to resolve the issue:

  1. Unplug the device: Disconnect the microwave from the power supply for about 10 minutes to allow the system to reset.
  2. Check ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation grills are not obstructed by objects or dust. Good airflow is essential to prevent overheating.
  3. Assess the location: Make sure the microwave is placed in a well-ventilated area, away from excessive heat or humidity.
  4. Test again: Plug the device back in and try to use it. If the E3 code reappears, it likely indicates a technical issue requiring professional intervention.

If these solutions do not correct the error, it is recommended to contact a customer service or a qualified technician to diagnose and repair the microwave.

What should I do if my HISENSE EDH23MOBV microwave is not heating food?
Frequently Asked Questions - 23/01/2026
Response Notice-Facile

If your HISENSE EDH23MOBV microwave is not heating your food, follow this manufacturer's diagnostic procedure before contacting customer service. The test helps identify whether the problem is due to a technical defect or incorrect configuration.

Verification procedure: Pour a cup of water (about 150 ml) into a microwave-safe glass measuring cup, place it in the center of the microwave, securely close the door, and then run the microwave for 1 minute. If the door is properly closed, the oven light should turn off during operation.

Points to check during and after this test:

  • Does the oven light turn on at startup (it should turn off once the door is closed)?
  • Is the cooling fan working? Place your hand near the ventilation openings at the back of the unit to check.
  • Does the turntable rotate regularly? (It can rotate in both directions, which is normal.)
  • Has the water inside the microwave become hot after 1 minute of operation? This is the decisive test: if the water remains cold, the heating is not working.

If any of these checks yield a negative response, particularly regarding the water's temperature, first check that the electrical outlet is functioning properly by plugging in another device. Also, check that the fuse or circuit breaker in your electrical installation has not tripped (see your circuit breaker box).

If the wall outlet and your electrical installation are functioning correctly, but the microwave still produces no heat after these checks, there is likely a defect in the magnetron or an internal component. In this case, contact an authorized HISENSE service center providing the model EDH23MOBV for repair or replacement.

  3. Do not operate the oven when empty. This could damage the oven.
  4. Do not use the oven cavity for any type of storage, such a papers, cookbooks, etc.
  5. Do not cook any food surrounded by a membrane, such as egg yolks, potatoes, chicken livers, etc without first being pierced several times with a fork.

  8. Do not cook food directly on the glass tray. Place food in/on proper cooking utensil before placing in the oven. IMPORTANT - COOKWARE NOT TO USE IN YOUR MICROWAVE OVEN

  9. Do not use metal pans or dishes with metal handles.

  10. Do not use anything with metal trim.
  11. Do not use paper covered wire twist-ties on plastic bags.
  12. Do not use melamine dishes as they contain a material which will absorb microwave energy. This may cause the dishes to crack or char and will slow down the cooking speed.
  13. Do not use Centura Tableware. The glaze is not suitable for microwave use. Corelle Livingware closed handle cups should not be used.
  14. Do not cook in a container with a restricted opening, such as a pop bottle or sealed oil bottle, as they may explode if heated in a microwave oven.

  1. Always test the temperature of cooked food yourself especially if you are heating or cooking food/liquid for babies. It is advisable never to consume food/liquid straight from the oven but allow it to stand for a few minutes and stir food/liquid to distribute heat evenly.
  2. Food containing a mixture of fat and water, e.g.stock,should stand for 30-60 seconds in the oven after it has been turned off. This is to allow the mixture to settle and to prevent bubbling when a spoon is placed in the food/liquid or a stock cube is added.
  3. When preparing/cooking food/liquid and remember that there are certain foods, e.g. Christmas puddings, jam and mincemeat, which heat up very quickly. When heating or cooking foods with a high fat or sugar content do not use plastic containers.
  4. Cooking utensil may become hot because of heat transferred from the heated food. This is especially true if plastic wrap has been covering the top and handles of the utensil. Potholders may be needed to handle the utensil.
  5. To reduce the risk of fire in the oven cavity:

a) Do not overcook food. Carefully attend microwave oven if paper, plastic, or other combustible materials are placed inside the oven to facilitate cooking.
