What does the triangle error mean on the VALBERG AUTOCOFFEE M1 espresso machine and how can it be resolved?
Frequently Asked Questions - 15/02/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The warning light A (triangle) on your VALBERG AUTOCOFFEE M1 coffee machine indicates an assembly problem or incorrect installation of an internal component. This light may blink or stay on continuously depending on the cause of the malfunction. Unlike generic causes, this problem is almost never due to water or electrical connections, but always to the mechanical assembly of the internal parts.

If the warning light A blinks, it means that the grinder adjustment dial and/or the ground coffee bin are not properly installed. Here’s how to fix this: open the access door of the machine, check that the ground coffee bin is placed horizontally on its tray inside the machine, and ensure that the grinder adjustment dial is properly in place. Remove and reinstall these parts until the light A goes out completely.

If the warning light A stays on continuously, the problem comes from the brewing capsule. It must be securely fixed in place. To correct this: press the two orange clips on each side, remove the capsule completely, then reinstall it by aligning the arrow on the capsule with the arrow on the holder. Make sure it clicks into place correctly.

If the single cup espresso button and the warning light A blink together, the coffee grinder may be blocked or improperly installed. Completely turn off the machine (press the on/off button and unplug the unit), then clean and reinstall the coffee grinder, the grind adjustment dial, and the ground coffee distribution channel until the lights go out.

If the cleaning button and the warning light A blink together, there is a blockage in the water system or the water tank is insufficiently filled. Immediately fill the water tank with fresh water. If the light persists after filling, the water system may be blocked: turn off the machine and let it rest for 5 minutes, then restart it. If the problem does not disappear after these steps, contact VALBERG customer service.

For any persistent issues after checking these points: completely turn off the device, unplug it for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on to reset the system. If the light A remains on after these operations, the brewing motor may be malfunctioning and technical service intervention will be necessary.

How to empty the coffee grounds from the VALBERG AUTOCOFFEE M1 espresso machine?
Frequently Asked Questions - 27/01/2026
Response Notice-Facile

To empty the coffee grounds from your VALBERG AUTOCOFFEE M1 espresso machine, start by turning off and unplugging the machine from the power outlet. Allow it to cool completely before proceeding. It is recommended to empty the coffee grounds compartment after making about 8 single espressos or 4 double espressos, or when the full coffee grounds compartment indicator lights up on the screen.

Locate the coffee grounds compartment inside the machine. To remove it, firmly press on the two orange clips located on either side of the compartment and pull it towards you. The full grounds indicator light will automatically turn off once the compartment is removed and emptied.

Once the compartment is removed, empty the coffee grounds over a trash can. Then use the provided cleaning brush to remove any remaining residue on the metal base of the compartment. Brush everywhere that grounds are still sticking, especially in the corners and on the metal surfaces.

Then rinse the compartment thoroughly with hot tap water to eliminate all coffee residues. You can use a soft cloth with soapy water if necessary. Completely dry the compartment before reinserting it, ensuring that no moisture remains on the metal base.

Reinsert the cleaned and dried compartment into the machine by pushing it firmly until both orange clips click into place with an audible sound. Also remember to empty the drip tray daily, especially after automatic cleanings that can fill it quickly.

Important: Never submerge the coffee grounds compartment in the dishwasher. Do not clean any part of the machine with metal brushes or corrosive products, as they could damage the system. Regular cleaning ensures the proper functioning of your machine and consistent coffee quality.

Why is my coffee dripping very slowly with the VALBERG AUTOCOFFEE M1 espresso machine and how can I fix it?
Frequently Asked Questions - 07/01/2026
Response Notice-Facile

Coffee that drips slowly or drop by drop with the VALBERG AUTOCOFFEE M1 espresso machine is usually caused by a grind that is too fine. According to the manufacturer's official instructions, the main solution is to adjust the grind size by turning the grinder adjustment knob.

Step 1: Adjust the grind size — Turn the grind adjustment knob counterclockwise to select a coarser setting. Your AUTOCOFFEE M1 offers 15 grind levels: setting 1 corresponds to a very fine grind and setting 15 to a very coarse grind. It is recommended to start with a setting of 8 or higher, then gradually adjust according to your preferences. If the coffee flows too quickly, make the grind a little finer; if it flows too slowly, make it coarser.

Step 2: Clean the coffee distribution spout — If the problem persists after adjusting the grind, the coffee distribution spout may be blocked. Gently clean it with a toothpick to remove any residue blocking the flow.

Step 3: Check the percolation device — Ensure that the cleaning indicator for the percolation device is not lit. If it is, the device is saturated: it must be emptied after 8 single espressos or 4 double espressos. A clogged device slows down the flow rate.

Step 4: Perform regular descaling — To maintain optimal flow, descale every 2 to 3 months or when the Americano and Double espresso buttons are flashing simultaneously (this indicates that 500 brewing cycles have been completed). Use a commercial descaler available in stores or food-grade citric acid. Add the recommended amount to the tank, fill it with water up to the MAX mark, and press and hold the Americano and Double espresso buttons for 1 second to start the procedure. The descaling takes about 10 minutes.

Weekly maintenance — To prevent blockage of the ground coffee outlet channel, inspect and clean the grinder outlet channel weekly using the provided cleaning brush. Also clean the area of the percolation system support to prevent residue buildup.

Start by adjusting the grind to setting 8 and gradually increase if necessary. This problem is usually resolved quickly by finding the right balance of grind size for your AUTOCOFFEE M1.

B Product usage

Tips and tricks

  • A clean coffee maker is essential for brewing great tasting coffee. Regularly clean the coffee maker as directed ( Cleaning and maintenance).
Always use fresh, cold water in the coffee maker. We recommend using softened or filtered water to prevent limescale deposits from building up.
  • Store unused coffee powder in a cool, dry place. After opening a bag of coffee powder, reseal it tightly, then store it in the fridge to preserve its freshness.
  • We do not recommend reheating coffee as the coffee is at its best immediately after being brewed.
  • Clean the coffee maker whenever over-extraction causes a greasy appearance. The oil droplets found on the surface of brewed black coffee are the result of oil being extracted from the coffee powder.
This greasy appearance may occur more frequently when using dark-roasted coffees.
