Before first use

- Do not position the unit near the edge of a countertop where it could accidentally fall off.
- Do not place the unit on a hot surface such as a stove.
Unwind the power cord fully.
- Clean the unit to remove any residues from the manufacturing process. The unit may give off a slight odour when you start using it. This is normal due to its newness and does not indicate a manufacturing defect or danger.
Assembly
Check all parts are correctly assembled:
- Make sure the drip tray cover is correctly positioned on top of the drip tray. Then slot the drip tray with cover into position below the coffee outlet.

NOTE: The drip tray collects water from the coffee outlet during each rinse and auto clean, as well as excess coffee that may drip after brewing. Therefore, empty the drip tray daily.
- Make sure the coffee grinder inside the coffee bean tray is correctly installed and that the coffee bean tray lid is placed on top of the coffee bean tray.
- Open the door to check that the coffee grinds bin is horizontally placed on top of the coffee grinds tray inside the coffee machine. If the warning indicator light illuminates, one of these parts is incorrectly assembled. Remove and reassemble until the warning indicator light turns off.
- The brewing capsule must be firmly fixed into place. If the warning indicator light turns on constantly, the brewing capsule is incorrectly assembled.
To remove, press the two orange clips together and pull it out.
- To install, align the arrow on the brewing capsule with the arrow on the bracket that holds the brewing capsule into place. Push the brewing capsule into the slot until it firmly clicks into place.
- If the coffee bean grinder has been removed for cleaning, check that it is correctly installed ( Cleaning the coffee bean grinder).

B Product usage
Tips and tricks
- A clean coffee maker is essential for brewing great tasting coffee. Regularly clean the coffee maker as directed ( Cleaning and maintenance).
Always use fresh, cold water in the coffee maker. We recommend using softened or filtered water to prevent limescale deposits from building up.
- Store unused coffee powder in a cool, dry place. After opening a bag of coffee powder, reseal it tightly, then store it in the fridge to preserve its freshness.
- We do not recommend reheating coffee as the coffee is at its best immediately after being brewed.
- Clean the coffee maker whenever over-extraction causes a greasy appearance. The oil droplets found on the surface of brewed black coffee are the result of oil being extracted from the coffee powder.
This greasy appearance may occur more frequently when using dark-roasted coffees.
