Frequently Asked Questions - VAL-BDMIX-5L/6L T VALBERG

Which kegs are compatible with the VALBERG VAL-BDMIX-5L/6L T?
The dispenser accepts Beertender 5 L kegs (Heineken, Affligem, Pelforth Blonde, Desperados) and Perfectdraft 6 L kegs. Two adapters are provided in the box to switch from one format to another without tools.
How to install a 5 L Beertender keg on this dispenser?
Mount the 5 L adapter on the tap head, then snap the keg in following the markers until the locking click. Wait for the LED indicator to show a serving temperature (3 °C to 5 °C) before pouring your first beer.
How to install a 6 L Perfectdraft keg?
Attach the supplied 6 L adapter to the dispenser head, insert the keg with the valve downwards, and lock until it clicks. The LED indicator displays the cooling progress; serve when the temperature reaches 3 °C to 5 °C.
What is the serving temperature range?
The Peltier effect module keeps the beer between 3 °C and 12 °C. For optimal service, aim for 3 °C to 5 °C to get a well-chilled beer with little foam.
The beer is too foamy, how to fix this?
Excessive foam often indicates a beer that is not cold enough or a recently shaken keg. Check that the displayed temperature is below 6 °C, tilt the glass at 45° at the start of pouring, and serve slowly. If the problem persists, let the keg rest for 2 hours without moving it.
How long does a keg last once opened?
5 L Beertender kegs (Heineken DraughtKeg technology) can be kept for up to 30 days after opening. 6 L Perfectdraft kegs also offer preservation for up to 30 days at low temperature. Beyond that, the taste quality deteriorates.
What does the blinking LED indicator mean?
Blinking usually indicates that the keg is almost empty or not properly engaged. Check that the adapter used matches the keg format and re-engage firmly. If the anomaly persists after reinstallation, consult the manual or VALBERG after-sales service.
How to clean the dispenser after use?
Remove the keg, then clean the tap head and spout with warm water and a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive products or spray water directly on the device. Allow to dry completely before inserting a new keg.
The dispenser is not cooling properly, what to do?
Make sure the ventilation grills of the Peltier module are not blocked: this system needs good air circulation. Place the device in an airy space, away from heat sources. If the problem persists after checking the power supply, contact VALBERG customer service.
Is the VAL-BDMIX-5L/6L T compatible with other keg systems?
No, the dispenser is exclusively designed for Beertender 5 L and Perfectdraft 6 L kegs. It is not compatible with Blade systems, older generation BeerTender, or any other unlisted format. Check the keg format before purchase.
Where to find spare parts for the VALBERG VAL-BDMIX-5L/6L T?
Original spare parts are available at specialized retailers like Eurosav (internal reference 988903). You can also contact after-sales service through Electro Dépôt, the official distributor of the VALBERG brand.
What is the power consumption of this dispenser?
The consumption in standby mode is 0 W. The operating power is not specified in the official sheet. The Peltier effect module is generally quiet and lighter than a traditional compressor.

Why is the LED indicator on my VALBERG VAL-BDMIX-5L/6L T beer dispenser still off?
Frequently Asked Questions - 17/01/2026
Response Notice-Facile

An off LED indicator on your VALBERG VAL-BDMIX-5L/6L T beer dispenser can have several explanations:

  • Device off: If the dispenser is not powered or is turned off, the LED indicator will remain off. Check that the device is properly plugged in and turned on.
  • Operating mode: Some LED indicators only light up when the device is in active operation, for example in cooling mode or in service. If you have not yet started the machine or selected a mode, the indicator may remain off.
  • Keg installation: If the beer keg is not properly inserted or detected, some indicators may not light up. Ensure that the keg is properly in place and correctly connected.
  • Technical issue: If after these checks the indicator remains off and the dispenser is not functioning properly, this may indicate an electrical malfunction or a defect in the indicator. In this case, it is advisable to contact VALBERG customer service for technical assistance.

In summary, an off LED indicator is not necessarily abnormal, but it is important to check the power supply, operating mode, and keg installation to ensure everything is in order.

Why is my VALBERG VAL-BDMIX-5L/6L T beer dispenser making noise?
Frequently Asked Questions - 01/01/2026
Response Notice-Facile

Your VALBERG VAL-BDMIX-5L/6L T beer dispenser uses Peltier effect technology to cool the beer, which naturally results in some operational noise. According to specifications, the normal noise level is below 50 dB(A). Here are the main causes of noise and how to resolve them.

Normal operating noises: The built-in air pump produces a regular noise during cooling. This noise is normal and does not indicate a problem. The Peltier system may also emit a slight humming sound when maintaining the temperature between 3 °C and 12 °C.

Vibrations due to improper installation: The device must be placed on a flat and horizontal surface. Ensure that the dispenser is not in direct contact with walls or cabinets. Leave at least 10 cm of space on each side for proper ventilation. Poor ventilation can increase noise and reduce cooling efficiency.

Air circuit issues: Unusual or excessive noises may come from the air hose. Check that the hose from the air inlet connector is not bent or compressed. Also, ensure that the sealing gasket is not blocked by dust. If you hear clicking or abnormal vibrations, reconnect the air inlet connector by firmly pressing the white button and reinstalling the hose.

Noise related to kegs: A poorly positioned or secured keg generates additional vibrations. Before each use, check that the 5 L or 6 L keg is properly pushed in until it clicks into the locking mechanism. A keg that has been shaken before installation may also produce more noise due to air bubbles. Always let the keg rest for at least 12 hours at a temperature between 2 °C and 8 °C before use.

Accumulation of dirt: Dirty elements (outside of the keg, inside the compartment, LED indicators) compromise the system's efficiency and may increase noise. Regularly clean the outside and inside of the dispenser with a slightly damp soft cloth. Ensure that both infrared LED indicators in the compartment are clean and intact.

When to contact customer service: If the noise becomes particularly loud, unusual compared to normal operation, or is accompanied by an error code (E1, E2, E3, or E4 displayed on the LED screen), this may indicate a malfunction of the air pump, sensor, or control board. In this case, contact a professional for repair. The dispenser comes with a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions - 30/12/2025
Response Notice-Facile

To properly use your VALBERG VAL-BDMIX-5L/6L T beer dispenser, here are the essential connections to make:

  • Connect the beer hose to the keg, ensuring that the fitting is securely attached and leak-proof.
  • Connect the outlet hose to the tap handle.

Cooling System Connection

  • Check that the cooling system is properly installed according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Ensure that the thermostat is set to the recommended temperature (usually between 3 and 5 °C) for optimal beer preservation.

Respond (be the first)
Does the pump of the VALBERG VAL-BDMIX-5L/6L T beer dispenser work if I turn it on without inserting a keg?
Frequently Asked Questions - 10/12/2025
Response Notice-Facile

When you turn on your VALBERG VAL-BDMIX-5L/6L T beer dispenser without inserting a keg, the pump should normally not operate. Indeed, the pump is designed to draw the beer from the keg to flow it into the tap.

Without a keg, there is no liquid to pump, so the pump generally does not run to avoid unnecessary wear or dry operation that could damage it.

If you notice that the pump is running without a keg, this could indicate a technical issue or malfunction, and it would be advisable to contact customer service or a qualified technician.

For optimal use, always ensure to insert a keg properly before turning on the beer dispenser.
