USER MANUAL Saint Algue Gold L SA-2001 SAINT ALGUE

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Children shall not play with the appliance.

Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

When the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use, since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the appliance is switched off.

For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.

WARNING! Do not use this appliance near bathtubs,

showers, basins or other vessels containing water.

Remove all packaging materials before using the appliance. Keep the packaging materials away from children they pose a risk of swallowing and suffocation.

Ensure the rated voltage shown on the rating label corresponds with the voltage of the power supply.

Do not open the housing under any circumstances. Do not insert fingers or foreign objects in any opening of the appliance and do not obstruct the air vents.

Protect the appliance against heat. Do not place close to heat sources such as stoves or heating appliances.

BURN HAZARD. Keep the appliance out of reach from young children, particularly during use and cool down.

When the appliance is connected to the power supply, never leave it unattended.

Always place the appliance with the stand, if any, on a heat-resistant, stable flat surface.

To avoid overheating or fire, do not cover the appliance when it is switched on.

Do not use hair sprays, water vaporizers or any other vaporizers during use of the appliance.

Always turn the appliance off and hang it onto a hook, if any, after use or when making a pause; do not place it on the edges of basins or bathtubs. Should the appliance drop into water, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into the water to retrieve the appliance.

Be careful, to avoid any risk of burns, do not touch the area other than that marked by the indication lines corresponding to the handle (refer to the figure on page 12).

DESCRIPTION

This appliance is intended for straightening dry hair. Do not use it for straightening synthetic or wet hair, and do not use it on pets.

The appliance is only intended for household indoor use.

Do not use the appliance for other purposes. Any other use might lead to damage of the appliance, property or personal injury.

The manufacturer will accept no liability for damage or injuries resulting from improper use or non-compliance with this manual.

BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE

WARNING! Packaging materials are not a toy! Do not allow children to play with packaging materials, as they pose a choking hazard if swallowed!

• Check the delivery contents for any missing items or any possible transport damage. If the appliance is damaged or some parts are missing, do not use it and bring it back to your dealer.
• Remove all packaging materials and keep them for future use.
• Fully uncoil the power cord.
• Clean the appliance with a soft damp cloth and, if necessary, a little mild detergent. Wipe with a dry soft cloth.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

WARNING! The surfaces of the appliance are liable to get hot during use and will stay hot for some time after operation. Only touch the appliance by the gripping surface. Keep the heating plates well away from your body and do not press them on your hair for too long.

NOTE: Always ensure your hair is clean and tangle-free before using the appliance.

NOTE: The appliance features an automatic switching-off function. It switches off automatically after continuous operating for approx. 1 hour.

• Slide the locking device backward to disengage the heating plates.
• Connect the appliance to the power supply. The display shows "OFF".
• Keep pressing the on/off button for 1 - 2 seconds to switch on the appliance. The display shows the default temperature setting 210^ .

• The temperature of the heating plates starts to increase instantly. The temperature and increasing indicators are flashing on the display.

• Press the "+" and "-" buttons to select the desired heating temperature (150 °C / 170 °C / 190 °C / 210 °C / 230 °C).

• Keep pressing the “-” button for 2 - 3 seconds to lock the “+” and “-” buttons. The symbol is indicated on the display. Keep pressing the “-” button again for 2 - 3 seconds to unlock the “+” and “-” buttons. The symbol disappears from the display.
• After the heating plates reach the set temperature, the temperature and increasing indicators will be constantly indicated on the display.
• Hold the appliance on the gripping surface, clamp a strand of hair between the heating plates and slowly move the appliance down towards the tips of your hair. Make sure not to press the heating plates on your hair for too long.
• When the operation is finished, keep pressing the on/off button for 1 - 2 seconds to switch off the appliance.
• Disconnect the appliance from the power supply. Place it on a heat-resistant surface or hang it onto a hook to let it cool down.

CLEANING

Before cleaning, unplug the appliance and let it cool down completely.
- Do not clean the appliance with steel wool, strong chemicals, alkali, abrasive or disinfecting agents as they may damage its surface.
- Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids to clean it. Make sure that the electrical parts do not become wet or damp.
- Remove any hair left on the appliance and heating plates.
- Clean the appliance with a soft damp cloth and, if necessary, a little mild detergent. Wipe with a dry soft cloth.
The appliance may only be used again after it is dried completely.

STORAGE

Before storage, always make sure that the appliance is completely dry and cooled down.
- Store the appliance in a cool, dry place, protected from moisture and out of the reach of children.
