BATTERY OPERATION (NOT SUPPLIED) The unit can be operated using batteries alone. 1. Remove the battery cover. 2. Insert six UM-2 size batteries into the battery compartment. Make sure all batteries are inserted with the correct polarity as shown on the inside of the battery compartment. 3. Replace the battery cover. If the unit is not to be used for a prolonged period of time, remove the batteries to avoid damage by battery leakage.
MAINS OPERATION 1. Place the player on a flat stable surface. 2. Plug the mains lead into the jack located on the rear of the player ensuring that the plug is pushed fully into the jack. 3. Plug the other end of the mains lead into the mains socket. The mains socket used for the player must remain accessible during normal use. In order to disconnect the player from the mains, the mains plug should be removed from the mains power socket completely.
SWITCHING ON THE UNIT Press and hold to turn on the unit. If there is no operation within about 15 minutes, the unit will turn off automatically. Press and hold

Use only Digital Audio CDs with the
Never write on a CD or attach any sticker to the CD. Always hold the CD at the edge and store it in its box after use with the label facing up. Do not expose the CD to rain, moisture, sand or to excessive heat. CD/CD-R/CD-RW/MP3 discs The player can playback CD/CD-R/CD-RW/MP3 discs that have been finalised upon completion of recording. USB OPERATION Inserting and removing a USB memory device Carefully insert a USB memory device into the

BLUETOOTH OPERATION By using the Bluetooth connection, you can listen to the sound of the Bluetooth audio device from this unit wirelessly. Pairing Bluetooth devices Turn on the Bluetooth function of the device and place the device near this unit. If this unit is already connected to a Bluetooth device, disconnect it. 1. Repeatedly press to select the Bluetooth mode. “bt” will flash on the display. 2. Select “RD-F421B” from the Bluetooth device’s Bluetooth menu. 3. Once pairing is successful, “bt” will stop flashing. 4. Start play on the Bluetooth device. NOTE: The effective operation range between the unit and the paired Bluetooth device is approximately 10 metres in the open area. Once the Bluetooth device is connected for the first time, the speaker will remember the paired setting and will automatically reconnect to the same Bluetooth device the next time they are in range. When you want to playback from another Bluetooth device, press and hold in use.

TROUBLESHOOTING Problem The player will not play. CD skips while playing. Radio sound distorted. No radio sound.
Possible Cause 1. Unit not in CD mode. 2. CD is not installed or installed incorrectly. Disc is dirty or scratched. 1. The station is not tuned in. 2. There is interference. 1. The unit is not in radio mode. 2. The volume is on the minimum setting.
Possible Solution 1. Select CD mode. 2. Load a CD with label side up. Wipe the disc with a cloth or use another disc. 1. Fine tune the station. 2. Reposition the unit. 1. Select radio mode. 2. Adjust the volume level.
