This appliance is intended for household use only.

This appliance is not intended for use in domestic and similar environments such as staff kitchen areas in shops, offices or other work environments, farms, hotels, motels or other residential or bed and breakfast type environments. Do not use this appliance outdoors. Only use this appliance for food preparation. Before plugging in your appliance, make sure that the voltage of your home matches that indicated on the appliance rating plate. Always connect your appliance to an easily accessible electrical outlet. Always place the appliance on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface.

This appliance should not be used by children.

Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children. This appliance can be used by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or whose experience or knowledge is insufficient, provided that they are supervised or have received instructions on using the appliance safely and properly understand the potential dangers. Children should not use the appliance as a toy. Make sure children do not play with the device. Do not leave the device unattended when plugged in. Do not use this appliance outdoors and store it in a dry place. Do not use this appliance near direct heat sources. Do not use this appliance in the bathroom or near a sink full of water. If this appliance is dropped into water, you must not, under any circumstances, grab it straight away. First, unplug the plug from the socket. WARNING: Never immerse the appliance, motor unit, power cord or plug in water or any other liquid. When you unplug the power cord , always pull it at the plug. Do not pull on the cord itself. V.1.0

Do not handle the appliance or plug with wet hands.

• Only use accessories provided and recommended by your retailer. The use of non-recommended accessories could endanger the user and cause damage to the appliance. • Do not use this appliance: − If the plug or the power cord is damaged, − In case of malfunction, − If the appliance has been damaged in any way, − If you have dropped it, − If the blades are damaged, − If the motor unit has fallen in water. • Take it to an after-sales service centre for inspection and repair. Repairs cannot be performed by the user. • Do not use the appliance if the jar is broken, chipped or damaged or if the blades are broken. • Switch off and unplug the appliance before leaving it unattended and before assembling, disassembling, or cleaning it. • Turn the appliance off and unplug it from the power supply before changing accessories or approaching its moveable parts when it is running. •

If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by your retailer, their after-sales department or a similarly qualified person in order to prevent any kind of risk.

Do not hang the power cord over the edge of a table or work surface, and make sure it doesn’t come into contact with hot surfaces. Do not wrap the cord around the motor unit and do not twist it. Do not place or use this appliance near any heat source (hob, heater, etc.). Do not exceed the maximum capacity indicated on the jar. When mixing hot liquids, particular attention should be paid to prevent hot liquid spray that could cause burns. WARNING: extreme care should be taken when moving an appliance containing hot liquids. WARNING: the blades are sharp. Handle them with care! Do not touch the cutting edges of the blades when handling them, emptying the jar or cleaning them. For instructions on using accessories and speed settings, refer to the “Assembly” and “Use” sections.

Keep your hands and utensils out of the container when blending foods to reduce risk of bodily injury or damage to the appliance.

If the jar’s blades get jammed and do not move, it could damage the motor. Stop the appliance and unplug it from the power point. You can insert a spatula or other utensil into the container to loosen it only when the appliance is unplugged. Do not remove the motor unit from the jar until the blades have stopped moving. Let the appliance cool before cleaning or storing it. To clean surfaces in contact with food, please refer to the “Cleaning and maintenance” section at the end of this manual. This appliance is not intended to be operated by an external timer or by a separate remote control system. This appliance cannot operate continuously. It is not a professional type of appliance. You must observe operating breaks. Otherwise, you may damage the motor. Do not operate this appliance continuously for more than 2 minutes for liquids or more than 1minute for solid foods. Take a 10-minute break before using the appliance again. V.1.0

WARNING! • Do not immerse the jar in water. To clean the jar, see the “Cleaning and maintenance Cleaning the jar” section. • The appliance and accessories must not be washed in the dishwasher! 1.

Before using for the first time, be sure to thoroughly wash all of the blender’s components, except the motor unit, with soapy water.

Rinse with clean water and thoroughly dry using a soft cloth. Refer to the “Cleaning and Maintenance” section for cleaning precautions.

• The jar contains very sharp blades. Handle them with care! • Respect the level marks indicated on the jar. Failure to do so may result in damage to the appliance and/or injury to yourself. • Do not place hot food in the appliance. Use cold or warm food. The maximum temperature must be less than 60 °C. Do not put a spatula or any other utensil into the jar during operation. You may insert a utensil into the jar only once the appliance has stopped.

We do not recommend putting raw meat or fish into the machine. Please precook them before adding them to the jar. Never place the following items in the blender: bones, frozen food (except ice cubes), hard food. Do not operate this appliance continuously for more than two minutes for liquids or more than one minute for solid foods. Take a 10-minute break before using the appliance again. Do not use the appliance when empty (without food).

Place the blender jar on the motor unit and turn it slightly clockwise to lock it.

The lid cannot be removed when the jar is locked.

Plug the power cord into a functioning mains socket.

Turn the on/off knob to the “ON” position. The indicator light on the on/off knob flashes blue. You can choose one of the 3 functions: “SMOOTHIE”, “ICE CRUSH” or “PULSE”. Press the button corresponding to the desired function. The button lights up and the appliance starts to operate.

Put the food to be blended in the jar.

Place the lid on the blender jar and make sure it’s properly seated.

Turn the lid clockwise until it clicks in place. The 2 prongs on the lid must be correctly inserted into the 2 prongs on the glass jar. Plug the filling opening in the lid with the measuring cap. The measuring cap has 2 functions: to measure and prevent splashing. Turn the cap clockwise until it clicks in place.

For making smoothies*, milk-shakes, etc.

SMOOTHIE ICE CRUSH For maximum control over the fineness of the mixture.

The unit operates at high speed.

Release the button to stop the unit.

Press the “SMOOTHIE” button once: the blender runs intermittently at high speed.

*“Smoothies” are thick drinks made by mixing fresh or frozen fruit and fruit juices

(sometimes accompanied by ice cream or yoghurt).

You can also adjust the operating speed of the unit during mixing:

- Set the “ON/OFF” knob to the “ON” position and then turn the knob to a position between the “MIN” mark (low speed) and the “MAX” mark (high speed). - [TAB]Choose the most suitable speed for the ingredients used. The unit will operate at the selected speed until you return the on/off button to the “OFF” position.

If the motor overheats, the unit automatically stops to prevent damage to the motor. Wait about 10 minutes until the unit cools down, unplug it and plug it in again: the appliance can be used again. 10.

When your preparation is ready, turn the on/off button to the “OFF” position and unplug the plug from the power point.

Remove the jar from its base. Remove the lid. You can now serve the preparation.

WARNING! • Before cleaning your blender, make sure that the “ON/OFF” button is in the “OFF” position and that the unit is unplugged from the power point. • Never immerse the motor unit, power cord, plug or jar in water or any other liquid. • There is a potential risk of injury if used incorrectly. • Never place the appliance and accessories in the dishwasher! • The blades are sharp. It is essential that you take special precautions when handling them to avoid injury. • Never use scouring pads or abrasive detergents for cleaning.

DISMANTLING THE APPLIANCE

Practical tips for use

Cut meat or solid food into pieces before putting them in the blender. If you need to mix/chop large amounts of solid food, do so in small portions. • Some preparations cannot be properly made in a blender: - Whisked egg whites - Whipped cream - Mashed potatoes - Minced raw meat - Kneaded dough - Fruit and vegetable juice extraction • Liquids or other ingredients can be added at any time without stopping the machine. Remove the measuring cap from the lid (by turning it anticlockwise). Do not exceed the maximum recommended quantities.

Lift the blender jar off its base and place it on a flat, stable surface.

Remove the measuring cap by turning it anticlockwise. Turn the lid anticlockwise and remove the lid. Make sure the blender jar is empty, turn it over and place it on a flat and stable surface.

Unscrew the 4-blade knife assembly by turning it clockwise to the “OPEN” position.

Remove the blade gasket from the plastic base.

During reassembly, pay close attention to which way up the gasket is on the base: smooth side towards the base and ribbed side towards the glass of the jar.

GENERAL CLEANING RECOMMENDATIONS Immediately rinse all the parts after use for easy cleaning.

• Wipe the motor unit with a sponge, and then thoroughly dry it with a soft cloth. • Stubborn stains can be removed with a damp sponge and possibly a little non-abrasive detergent (washing up liquid, for example). • The removable parts (lid, measuring cap, blender jar) should be washed by hand with water and washing up liquid. No removable parts can be placed in the dishwasher. • Be sure to clean the lid seal and the 4-blade knife gasket thoroughly. When they are clean and dry, put them back on the unit properly. • The blender jar should not be immersed in water or any other liquid. To clean the jar, see the “Cleaning and maintenance - Cleaning the jar” section. •

QUICK CLEANING OF THE JAR To quickly rinse the jar (in between preparations, for example), you can use clean water and run the appliance for a few seconds. In this case, do not use detergent.

THOROUGH CLEANING OF THE JAR To thoroughly clean the jar, pour some warm water in the jar and add a few drops of washing up liquid.

• Use a brush to remove all traces of soup or food and rinse. • Add 800 ml of clean water to the jar with a small amount of washing up liquid, close the lid and run the unit for a few seconds in normal or “PULSE” mode (see the “Use” section). The blades will rotate to clean the jar, and you can stop the cleaning process at any time by turning the knob to the “OFF” position. • Rinse the jar again with clean water. • Then thoroughly wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Make sure the jar is completely dry before placing it back on the motor unit. •
