PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING SAFETY WARNINGS AND

THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE

APPLIANCE AND KEEP FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. WARNINGS

  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: - staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; - farm houses; - by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; - bed and breakfast type environments.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • Regarding the instructions for cleaning surfaces in contact with food, refer to the section “CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE” on page 7 of the manual.

The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years. Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. The coffee maker shall not be placed in a cabinet when in use. The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.

  • Before connecting the appliance, please check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds with the main voltage in your home.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the appliance, its cord or lead in water or any other liquid.
  • Always place the appliance on a flat, level surface.
  • Switch off and unplug the appliance from the mains socket when not in use or before cleaning.
  • Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning.

  • Never switch on the appliance without water in the water tank.

  • Never leave the empty carafe on the keeping warm plate otherwise the carafe is liable to crack.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Ground coffee filter Top cover Carefully unpack the appliance and remove all packaging materials. Wipe the appliance with a slightly damp cloth. Dry thoroughly. It is recommended to wash the drip coffee system before first use. Fill the water tank with cold water and follow the directions for brewing coffee to make at least two carafes of coffee without using ground coffee. Switch off the coffee maker and allow it to cool before refilling with cold water.

SETTING THE CLOCK

The display will show the text “CLOCK”. While “CLOCK” is displayed, repeatedly touch H and M respectively to set the current time or you can press the key and hold until the desired time is displayed on screen, then release it. Water tank Keep-warm plate Place the appliance on dry, level and heat-resistant surface, away from any edge. Open the top cover. Fill the water tank with the required amount of fresh, cold water using the water level indicator as a guide. The markings on the water tank window indicate level of water required to brew the desired number of cups. To avoid overflow, do not fill the water tank with water past the max line. Place the filter into the funnel, making sure it is assembled correctly. Add the desired ground coffee in the filter with the supplied spoon. A level spoon of ground coffee can make a cup of coffee. Close the top cover until a click is heard. Slide the carafe into the appliance ensuring it sits correctly on the plate. Before placing the carafe on the plate, make sure the carafe lid is closed. Plug in the appliance. Touch

The orange indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the appliance is brewing coffee. The coffee will begin to flow from the funnel after a short time. It is normal for the appliance to emit steam while it is brewing coffee. During brewing, you can remove the carafe from the keep-warm plate. The brewing process does not stop during this period and only the flow of coffee from the funnel stops. Do not remove the carafe for longer than 30 seconds or the coffee may overflow from the edge of the funnel. The brewing process can be interrupted at any time by pressing the button twice. Appliance is in Standby mode. The orange indicator light will go out.

When the brewing process is finished, allow coffee to stop dripping and then remove the carafe to serve. For a new brewing cycle, switch off the appliance and allow a few minutes for it to cool down. Then you can refill the water tank. SETTING DELAY BREW TIME (AUTOMATIC BREWING) To program your coffee maker to brew at a later time, first check that the time is set correctly. In standby state and the display shows clock time, touch twice to enter the timer setting mode. The display will show the text “TIMER”. While “TIMER” is displayed, repeatedly touch H and M respectively or you can press the key and hold until the desired brewing time is displayed on screen, then release it. Repeatedly touch to set the desired intensity of aroma. The display will show the corresponding symbols. light mild strong Touch twice to activate the automatic brewing. To deactivate the automatic brewing, touch again. The display will show clock time. When the delay brew time is reached, your coffee maker will begin the brewing cycle. The white indicator light will go out whilst the orange indicator light will illuminate. AROMA FUNCTION The taste of your coffee can be optimised by touching the aroma button The aroma button activates a unique brewing process that enhances the flavor and aroma of your coffee. To activate this function, in the standby state touch . The corresponding symbols will be displayed. Touch to brew coffee. To deactivate this function, in the standby state repeatedly touch until all the aroma symbols disappear from the display. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF For safety, this coffee maker features the automatic shut-off protection. When a brewing cycle is finshed, the coffee maker will automatically turn off after 35 minutes.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Turn off and unplug the appliance from the mains socket. Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.

  • Clean the outside of the appliance with a slightly damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water.
  • Clean the removable parts in warm soapy water with a soft brush or cloth then rinse them thoroughly.
  • Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaning agents. DESCALING Regularly descale the appliance using a specific descaler.

1. Fill the tank with water and descaler to the max line. (Refer to the descaler

instructions for the scale of water and descaler.)

2. Place the carafe onto the plate.

3. Plug in the appliance and then touch .

4. After descaling, rinse out the appliance by operating the appliance using water at

least twice (two full tanks of water). TROUBLESHOOTING Problem The carafe is leaking. Possible Cause Solution The carafe is not inserted properly. Make sure the center of the jug aligns with opening of the funnel. The coffee drops too slowly Coffee grounds is too fine. or overflows from the edge of The filter is too dirty. the removable funnel. Use coarser coffee powder. Rinse the filter with water. There is coffee residue in the carafe. The filter is blocked. Clean the filter. Water leaks from the bottom of the coffee maker. There is leftover water in the machine. Do not use the coffee maker again, contact customer service. The coffee maker is not working. The coffee maker heats in an abnormal state, which causes the safety protective system to activate. The machine lacks water.
