Frequently Asked Questions - KRYO POLAR 12 VORTICE

How to install the hot air exhaust hose?
Attach the round connector (13) to the end of the hose coupling (10). Insert the end into the perforated panel (12) or directly into a wall/window hole (diameter > 152 mm). Extend the hose as little as possible (300 to 1500 mm) and avoid bending it to prevent blocking hot air.
How to empty the condensation tank?
Turn off the appliance. Place a container under the drain opening (rubber cap). Remove the cap to drain the water. Close tightly before turning on again. You can also use the supplied continuous drainage hose.
What to do if the screen displays E1 or E2?
These codes indicate a malfunction detected by self-diagnosis. Turn off the appliance and contact a Vortice approved after-sales service for professional inspection.
Can I use the appliance without filters?
No, never operate the appliance without filters. This could damage the appliance and reduce efficiency. Filters protect the compressor and improve air quality.
How to clean the filters?
Remove the filter frame. Vacuum the dust or gently shake. Rinse with warm water (< 40 °C), without harsh detergent. Let dry completely before reinstalling.
How long should I wait before restarting the appliance after turning it off?
Wait at least 3 minutes before restarting the compressor to avoid failure. This delay protects the compressor.
How to use the Night function?
In Cooling mode, press the SLEEP button. The temperature will automatically increase by 1 °C after 1 hour, then by another 1 °C after 2 hours. The speed is set to minimum. The appliance shuts off after 12 hours.
What is the default temperature set on the appliance?
The default temperature is 24 °C. You can change it with the UP/DOWN (+/-) buttons.
How to use the remote control?
The remote control replicates the functions on the control panel. Insert a CR2025 lithium battery (included). Point it at the receiver on the appliance. All functions (ON/OFF, mode, temperature, timer, night, speed) are accessible.
What to do if the appliance does not work at all?
Check: is the plug properly connected? is there power? is the condensation tank full (indicator lit)? is the room temperature lower than the set point? does the compressor need 3 minutes before restart? If nothing works, contact after-sales service.

What are the characteristics of the VORTICE KRYO POLAR 12 drainage hose?
Frequently Asked Questions - 06/25/2026
Response Notice-Facile

Characteristics of the drainage hose:

  • Expandable coupling hose from 300 to 1500 mm according to your needs
  • Round connector provided to be assembled on the hose
  • Minimum required hole diameter: 152 mm (to pass through a window or partition)

Installation:

  • Assemble the round connector at the end of the hose
  • Insert the connector into the provided window panel, or directly into a hole of appropriate diameter
  • Adjust the window panel to the size of your window if necessary

Important points:

  • Avoid bending the hose too much, as this would prevent warm air from circulating properly
  • Do not extend or replace the hose beyond the original specifications - this could cause malfunctions of the device
  • Use the minimum possible extension to optimize performance

Where is the water tank of the VORTICE KRYO POLAR 12 and how can I access it?
Frequently Asked Questions - 06/24/2026

The water tank of the VORTICE KRYO POLAR 12 is located inside the unit and is accessible through a dedicated side door.

How to access the tank:

  • Open the access door on the side of the unit (see fig. 18 in the manual)
  • Remove the water tank from its compartment
  • Open the tank by pulling on its handle (fig. 19)
  • Fill it with water to the top

Respond (be the first)
Where is the filter and how do I access it on the VORTICE KRYO POLAR 12?
Frequently Asked Questions - 06/19/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The air filter of the VORTICE KRYO POLAR 12 is easily accessible without tools.

Your portable air conditioner is equipped with two filters:

  • A washable air filter - main filter
  • An activated carbon filter - for additional purification

These filters are located at the back of the unit, at the air intake grille. To access them, simply open or remove this rear grille according to your specific model.

Important: Never operate the unit without the filters installed, as this could damage the compressor. For maintenance, rinse the filters with lukewarm water (maximum 40°C) without harsh detergent, then allow them to dry completely before reinstalling.

If you still cannot find the filters despite these instructions, refer to the manual page for detailed diagrams or product photos.

Respond (be the first)
How can I obtain spare parts for my VORTICE KRYO POLAR 12 air conditioner?
Frequently Asked Questions - 05/28/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The VORTICE KRYO POLAR 12 is equipped with washable filters that you can easily clean yourself instead of replacing them.

For the maintenance of existing filters:

  • Use a vacuum cleaner or gently shake the filters to remove dust
  • Rinse them with lukewarm water (maximum 40°C)
  • Allow to dry completely before reinstalling

Important: Never operate the unit without the filters installed.

For specific spare parts (replacement filters, condensation tank, drainage hose, etc.), the manual recommends checking availability directly with the manufacturer VORTICE or an authorized dealer. You can contact customer support with the model reference KRYO POLAR 12 to find out about compatible available parts.

Respond (be the first)
Why is the 4th light on my VORTICE KRYO POLAR 12 red and the air conditioning is not cooling?
Frequently Asked Questions - 05/26/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The 4th red light indicates that your air conditioner is trying to cool but is unable to do so. Here are the most common causes and how to resolve them:

Step 1 - Clean the filters

This is the most common reason. Dirty filters block airflow and prevent cooling:

  • Open the front panel of the unit
  • Locate the filters (pages 5-6 of the manual)
  • Clean them with a vacuum cleaner or a damp cloth
  • Reinstall them correctly
  • Restart the unit and wait a few minutes

Step 2 - Check the drainage pipe

Hot air must be able to escape. Check that:

  • The drainage pipe is not bent, crushed, or blocked
  • It passes correctly through the window or door
  • The window is properly closed around the pipe to prevent hot air from coming back into the room

Step 3 - Other checks

  • The air intake (front) and exhaust (back) grilles are not obstructed
  • The set temperature is much lower than the current room temperature
  • The unit has had time to cool down (wait at least 10-15 minutes after starting)

If after these checks the light remains red and there is no cold air, the compressor may have a technical problem. In this case, contact an authorized Vortice service center (the manual states that no personal repairs are allowed).
