ENGLISH BABYLISS GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS The BaByliss Super Hood Dryer is protected in its pack and stable once erected, but care should be taken during assembly.

NB: Never lift the hood by the visor. The position of the hood is fixed to give optimum comfort in use. Do not attempt to adjust the angle. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS The BaByliss Super Hood requires careful assembly before use. Please read the following Assembly instructions carefully: 1. Slide the non-weighted foot into the extended base socket (1) until it clicks home. Insert the 30mm screw (provided) into hole under base and tighten to secure foot. Slide the 3 weighted feet into the remaining base sockets (2), (3), (4). 2. Push the plastic lower tube (5) into the top of the base segment (10) as far as it will go, ensuring that the slot in the lower tube slides over the ridge inside the base segment.

3. Turn the tube connector (7) in a anti-clockwise direction to loosen it and release the upper tube (6). Pull out the upper tube to the desired length. Tighten tube connector to secure.

4. Fix the drying hood onto the top of the aluminium upper tube (6), at position (8) making sure that the hole in the side of the hood socket is aligned with the equivalent hole in the aluminium upper tube. Insert the 12mm screw (provided) into the aligned holes and tighten. NB: for optimum stability, always ensure that the drying hood is positioned directly over the non-weighted foot (1) of the base. 5. Snap the plastic lead bracket (9) onto the aluminium upper tube (6) to hold the lead in position. Then slide the lead under hook located on top of base socket (3) (11). 6. The removable filter must always be in position on the top of the hood before using the dryer. USE INSTRUCTION • Adjust the height of the hood to suit your sitting position, via the tube connector, sliding the aluminium upper tube up or down as necessary before re-locking. • The front visor should be pushed upwards until it clicks 5

into a holding position.

• Select one of the 3 heat levels using switch located on the side of the hood. Position III: For rapid drying or starting the drying process or for thick/long hair Position II: For normal drying Position I: Cool setting for finishing the style Start with III or II and end with I 1. Prepare your hair for drying in your usual way e.g. in rollers, lightly towel dried, etc. 2. lift up the visor. Plug in and switch to Position I or II or III. 3. Make yourself comfortable under the hood dryer. Pull down the front visor: this will automatically switch the dryer on. 4. Some styles require a greater airflow on the top of the head, whilst others (e.g. long hair) require the airflow to be directed around the sides. To give this flexibility, the Super Hood Dryer is fitted with an adjustable diffuser. To operate this, there is a slide-switch situated on the inside front edge, underneath the hood. 5. When you want to stop the dryer, simply lift the front visor until it is held in 6

NB: Always ensure that the dryer is switched to the off position (using the side switch) after each use. CLEANING Use only a soft, damp cloth with mild detergent and always ensure that the dryer is fully dry before use. CAUTION • Do not immerse in water or other liquids and do not use near basins or other vessels containing water. • Unplug the hairdryer after use since the proximity of water can be dangerous even if it is switched off. For additional protection the installation of a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice. • Store out of children’s reach. • Always unplug the appliance when not in use . Do not leave unattended when switched on. • Take care to avoid contact between the hot surfaces of the appliance and the face or neck. • Always ensure the voltage to be used corresponds to the voltage on the unit. • Do not wrap the supply cord

around the appliance.

• Do not use the appliance if the cord is damaged. In the event of damage discontinue use immediately. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. • Return the appliance to the nearest service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment or repair. No repair should be attempted by the consumer. • Allow to cool before storing away. • Remember to clean the removable filter regularly. To remove the filter, pull the lock at the back of the filter and pull it. • Always ensure that the dryer is switched to the off position after each use. • This appliance complies with the requirements of Directives 89/336/E.E.C.(Electromagneti c compatibility) and 73/23/E.E.C. (Safety of domestic appliances), amended by Directive 93/68/ E.E.C. (C.E. marking).
