How to install the printer battery?

Slide the battery into the slot on the back of the printer, orienting it correctly until it clicks into place. Then plug in the AC adapter and let it charge for 4 hours before first use. To remove the battery, slide the release latch.

How to print wirelessly from a mobile phone?

Enable Bluetooth on your phone and on the printer (via the control panel). On the phone, search for the printer and pair it. You may need to install specific printing software, especially on Windows Mobile. See the 'Printing from Mobile Phones' section of the manual.

What to do if the printer does not print?

Check that the printer is on, the tray has paper, and the ink cartridges are installed correctly. If the power light is flashing or an error message appears, refer to the Troubleshooting chapter in the manual. You can also print an information page to diagnose the problem.

How to clean the ink cartridges?

Use the automatic cleaning function from the control panel (Setup menu > Maintenance > Clean Cartridges). If necessary, manual cleaning can be done by removing the cartridges and gently wiping the contacts with a lint-free cloth. Avoid touching the nozzles.

How to print duplex (double-sided)?

On Windows: in print preferences, under the Features tab, select 'Manual Duplex'. Print the odd pages first, then flip the stack and print the even pages. On Mac OS X: print the odd pages first via 'Paper Handling', flip the sheets, and print the even pages.

What types of paper can I use?

The printer accepts plain paper, photo paper (up to 10x15 cm), envelopes, cards, and custom sizes. For best results, use HP paper or paper bearing the ColorLok logo. Avoid damaged, curled, or too thin media.

How to scan a document to a computer?

Place the original print side down on the scanner. On the control panel, tap the Scan icon, select 'Scan to Computer', choose the document type, and start scanning. Ensure the HP software is installed on the computer.

How to clear a paper jam?

Open the cartridge access door and gently remove the jammed paper. Also open the rear door if necessary. See the 'Clearing Jams' section of the manual. To avoid jams, do not overload the tray and use media in good condition.

How to configure Bluetooth security?

On the control panel, go to Bluetooth > Settings > Security Level. Choose 'High' to require a PIN code (default 000000). You can also change the PIN. To make the printer invisible, set visibility to 'Not visible'.

How to replace the ink service module?

When the printer prompts you to replace the ink service module, purchase a compatible module. Turn off the printer, open the bottom cover, remove the old module, and insert the new one. Close the cover and turn on the printer. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Independent JPEG Group's free JPEG software

This package contains C software to implement JPEG image encoding, decoding, and transcoding. JPEG is a standardized compression method for full-color and gray-scale images.

The distributed programs provide conversion between JPEG "JFIF" format and image files in PBMLPLUS PPM/PGM, GIF, BMP, and Targa file formats. The core compression and decompression library can easily be reused in other programs, such as image viewers. The package is highly portable C code; we have tested it on many machines ranging from PCs to Crays.

We are releasing this software for both noncommercial and commercial use. Companies are welcome to use it as the basis for JPEG-related products.
