Frequently Asked Questions - HP1020 KAZ

While I was using my heating pad, it stopped producing heat and a light started blinking. What should I do?
This heating pad has a safety feature that shuts it off after 60 minutes. To restart, set the control to Off and then select the desired heat setting again.
How long should it take for my heating pad to warm up?
The pad is designed to reach the highest temperature (High) in less than ten minutes.
My heating pad doesn't seem hot enough. Is this normal?
Yes, our heating pad is specially designed to reach the highest heat level permitted by safety standards. If you want more heat, try the High setting or use the moist heat function for deeper penetration.
Why can't I lie or sit on my heating pad?
Lying or sitting on the pad can damage the internal wires and poses a burn risk. The pad must always have one side exposed to air to allow heat circulation.
My waist is small and the back heat wrap doesn't fit me. How do I adjust it?
Place the wash label toward you, wrap the elastic strap around your waist, and attach the strap end clip to the heating pad. Refer to Figure 2A in the manual.
How do I use the moist heat function?
Unplug the pad, moisten one side using a spray bottle or sponge (do not immerse). Then plug in the pad, set the desired heat, and place the moistened side on the area to be treated.
Can I machine wash my heating pad?
Yes, machine wash the pad in warm water on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry on medium heat. Do not plug in the pad until it is completely dry.
What are the important safety precautions?
Do not use on damaged or insensitive skin, do not place under the body, do not fold or twist the pad, and always unplug after use.
What if the pad stops heating completely?
Check that the control is set to a setting other than Off. If the light blinks, auto shut-off has activated (see question 1). If nothing works, contact customer service.
What is the warranty period and how do I use it?
The pad is warranted for 5 years against defects in materials and workmanship. For any claims, contact Kaz at 1 800 477-0457 or by email at consumerrelations@kaz.com. Do not return to the store.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Heat therapy relaxes muscles and relieves joint pain and soreness. By increasing blood flow to the injury area, heat therapy can help accelerate healing. Finally, heat can effectively warm and loosen stiff muscles before exercise.

Ultra's advanced moist or dry technology delivers the best heat control and timed-release moisture technology for physician recommended moist heat. Simply dampen the pad for moist heat. Moist heat provides deeper heat penetration than dry heat alone.

Kaz Ultra products are also UltraSoft and easy to clean - just disconnect the controller and machine wash and dry the entire pad.

Ultra therapy products provide relief from back, menstrual, arthritis and muscle pain. Please note that the pad must be placed on the injured area, but not under your body, for safe operation. See Figures 5A-D.

The Back & Hip wrap*, as well as the Neck & Shoulder wrap, are specifically designed to contour to your body and hold the heating pad in place. See Figures 6A-D and 7A-C. * Fits up to a 47" waist.
