Frequently Asked Questions - HCM-800 KAZ

Why isn't my humidifier producing visible mist?
It's normal. The unit propels dry air balanced with invisible humidity. Check the water level in the tank/base. A decrease in water level over 24 hours confirms operation.
The fan runs but the water level doesn't drop in the tank. What should I do?
Check the water flow dial for flow. If no water, remove the housing and clean the silver pump screen. Also check if ambient humidity exceeds 60% (saturation).
The humidifier won't turn on (fan doesn't run).
Check the humidistat setting: if humidity is reached, the unit shuts off until humidity drops. Turn the humidistat to maximum to restart.
The humidifier never stops. What should I do?
The humidistat is probably set too high. Reset it according to instructions: turn it slowly to the left until it stops, then set for desired threshold.
My filter has turned brown or rusty. Should I clean it?
That's a normal mineral deposit due to the ProtecMC filter. Soak it in cold water to loosen. Discoloration does not affect performance. Clean the filter every 1 to 3 months.
An unpleasant odor is coming from the humidifier.
Follow cleaning instructions (descaling and disinfection) if used more than 30 days. Clean regularly to avoid odors.
The water dial shows no water movement while the unit is running.
Check that there is enough water in the tank and that the suction orifice is not blocked. Clean if necessary.
The unit makes a gurgling sound.
This is normal at first startup, as air drawn into the system produces this sound. Wait 15 to 30 minutes for it to disappear.
What is the warranty for the HCM-800 humidifier?
3-year limited warranty for defects in materials and workmanship. Does not cover the filter, ProtecMC cartridge, or damage due to misuse. For claims, contact Kaz with proof of purchase and $10 USD (or $15.50 CAD) for shipping.
How to clean and disinfect the humidifier?
Turn off and unplug. Remove the tank and housing. Descale with undiluted vinegar for 20 min, rinse. Disinfect with a bleach solution (1 teaspoon per 4 L water) for 20 min, rinse thoroughly. Clean the filter regularly.
