Frequently Asked Questions - LM 140 BEGLEC

How to use Audio/Chase mode?
Place all DIP switches in the OFF position. Use the PROGRAM potentiometer to select a program (or carousel). The red AUDIO LED indicates the internal microphone is active: adjust sensitivity with SENSITIVITY. In CHASE mode (green LED), adjust speed with SPEED.
How to connect an external DMX controller?
Set the DMX-ADDRESS DIP switch to ON. The 4 outputs will then be controlled by the addressed DMX channel (1 to 512). Use a standard DMX cable to connect the controller to the DMX input of the device.
What is the maximum load per channel?
The maximum load per channel is 1200 W for resistive or inductive loads. The maximum current per channel is 5 A.
How to activate the Flash function on a channel?
Use the CHANNEL button corresponding to the desired channel. Pressing it activates the flash; an LED indicator lights up to confirm activation.
What to do if the device does not turn on?
Check the mains power supply (socket, cable). If the fuse is blown, replace it with a fuse of the same rating: F 6.3 A / 250 V (5 x 20 mm). Never use a fuse of a different rating.
How does the per-channel Switch Pack mode work?
In DMX mode, when the DMX controller slider is between 50% and 100%, the corresponding channel turns on in All or Nothing mode. Below 50%, the channel is off. The setting is individual for each channel.
Can I connect LED fixtures to this modulator?
Yes, but check electrical compatibility: total load per channel must not exceed 1200 W and current must not exceed 5 A. For LEDs, consider their actual power consumption.
How to use the program carousel?
Turn the PROGRAM potentiometer to the 'Carousel' position. The 3 built-in programs will then cycle in a loop. The transition speed depends on the SPEED setting in Chase mode.
What does the STAND BY LED mean?
The STAND BY button activates or deactivates all outputs. When the LED is off, the outputs are active. When it is on, the outputs are cut (stand by).
How to clean the device?
Unplug the device before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents, abrasive products, or liquids that could penetrate the device.

USER MANUAL LM 140 BEGLEC

This 4-channel modulator works in STAND ALONE (A) or with an external DMX-controller (B).

A. Audio / Chase

To use this function, all DIP-switches must be in the OFF-position.

  1. The PROGRAM - button allows you to select a program: choose between programs 1, 2, 3 and Random (programs will be played randomly).
  2. AUDIO: When the red LED is lit, the program will be played based on the rhythm of the music.
  3. SENSITIVITY: This rotary pot adjusts the sensitivity of the built-in microphone. Turn the knob clockwise for higher sensitivity.
  4. CHASE: when the green LED is lit, the chaser is activated.
  5. SPEED: with this rotary pot the speed of the chaser can be set.

CHANNEL: Flash knob with LED-indicator per channel.

B. DMX

To use the LM 140 in DMX-mode, an external DMX CONTROLLER has to be used.

  1. DMX-ADRESS: When in ON-position, each of the 4 channels can receive a different DMX-adress (from 1 till 512).
  2. SWITCHPACK/CH: The dimming level of the LM 140 is now comparable to the dimming level of a regular switchpack. This means that if the dimming level is smaller than 50% , the channel will not be activated (STAND BY). If the dimming level is more than 50% , the channel will be FULL ON.
  3. SWITCHPACK/4CH: same as SWITCHPACK/CH (2), but for all 4 channels instead of one specific channel.
  4. AUDIO / CHASE: The modulator now works as a regular chaser. When a channel is activated, it will be activated for the full 100 % (FULL ON).

REMARK:

When talking about percentages (%) , we refer to the dimming level of the external DMX-controller. So, when the cursor of the DMX-controller is in the middle, the percentage is 50% , 100% is full-on, 0% is stand-by.

Attention

This apparatus must be earthed at all times.
- To prevent electric shocks or fire: do not expose this equipment to any kind of moisture.
- To prevent DC/Current: install an automatic 20 A fuse, and limit the total power consumption to 16A .

When replacing the fuses, always make sure to replace them with fuses of the same dimensions and characteristics.
